2881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make alt-coin? on: January 24, 2018, 01:09:04 PM
First of all, i don't want to be rude, but if you have to ask this question, creating an altcoin is not for you...

I'd suggest reading up on bitcoin, reading the whitepaper, reading bitcoin's source, experiment with compiling easy binarys and work your way up to compiling bitcoin's sourcecode... After a long learning period, things should become pretty clear.

That being said: you can always hire somebody to create a clone coin, it's really not that hard if you have a basic idear about what you're doing... I succesfully cloned a couple of coins in the past to prove that it's really easy to do, so people should stop trusting altcoin developers and buy into those ico scams, cloning is easy, a lot of people can do it => don't throw away your money.

It is true that there are "better" coins to clone compared to bitcoin... Bitcoin is quite mature, and things like mining directly from your wallet, or even connecting an ASIC to your wallet without some kind of stratum proxy are allmost impossible, while there are less mature coins out there that still have this sourcecode available.
2882  Economy / Reputation / Re: Using 2 Accounts on the forum on: January 24, 2018, 01:02:33 PM
I don't see any proof for a connection between the two accounts in your OP...

What's proof:
- two accounts posting the exact same address, or posting proof that 2 users posting 2 addresses are actually using the same wallet.
- people that reply to a thread but mistakingly use the wrong account to do so... For example, posting a reply using userA, but signing the reply with userB

I'm not saying that it's impossible these two users are alt's, i'm just saying that i don't see any proof in your OP... You should search for other proof than person A having the same opinion as person B, combined with the fact that person B hasn't logged in for a while.

BTW: having multiple accounts is not against the rules, altough replying to yourself is against the rules (iirc)

Just my personal opinion tough.
2883  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase BTC address is different every time. on: January 24, 2018, 10:34:03 AM
Hi just a quick question, Coinbase provides me with new BTC address every time I try to deposit BTC, what happens if I use one of the old ones? One of the very first ones I've created when first deposited BTC there? Will it work?

short answer: yes, it'll work.
You can re-use your old addresses for as long as you want, there are only 2 downsides:
- it'll reduce your privacy (if you care about this)
- as soon as you spend any of the unspent outputs funding a certain address, the public key will be known to the network... This isn't a huge problem either, but it weakens your security a tiny bit....
If a hacker only knows your address, he has to use your address to calculate your public key, then he has to calculate your private key starting from your public key... If he already knows your public key, he's one step closer to robbing you... This is only a THEORETICAL problem tough, so far i don't know any instance of people being able to calculate a private key starting from a know public key.
2884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Safety of coins on: January 24, 2018, 07:53:31 AM
it's an hard task, Hardwarewallet seems to be good as long as we can trust in this peace of hardware. Paperwallets can be backdoored or not working at all and you don't recognize it. A safe Computer is also a good way, with a linux OS.

Could you elaborate on the fact you're telling people that paperwallets can be backdoored or not working at all?
If you use a well vetted paper wallet generator on an clean, offline PC and use bip38 encryption (like it's supposed to be used), i don't see any attack vector at all...

As long as the RNG is ok, there shouldn't be any problems.

As for your claim that a paper wallet might not be working at all: nobody is stopping you from generating a batch of 50 paper wallet, then try to decrypt the private key of an unfunded wallet and try to import it in electrum. If electrum accepts the paper wallet's private key, and the address printed on the paper wallet matches the address shown by electrum, it should work.
An other option is to download a paper wallet generator that also generates testnet paper wallets, then try out the full procedure on the testnet before moving to the main net.
2885  Other / Meta / Re: Account stolen - this is ridiculous on: January 24, 2018, 06:38:23 AM
Well I think it would suck even more if someone was to neg tag me.

I actually messaged a moderator before I bought the account and asked him whether this was an OK thing to do. Don't want to buy the account and then have it blacklisted...

I got a reply saying it was fine, which is why I proceeded. Don't think I've broken any rules here?

A simple thing to do might be to just "enable" these privileges like posting pics for people who are willing to pay. I don't care about the rep/nor am I trying to deceive anyone. I just want to post a thread with pictures.

Why do we want money filtering out to scam artists and create a black market when it could go towards the upkeep and development of this forum? Sounds like the best solution to me?

If you hang around bitcointalk for long enough, you'll learn that the trust network and the forum rules are only loosely connected. If you break the forum rules, you'll usually receive a warning or get banned straight away, if you do something that is perceived as untrustworthy: you'll get red tagged by other members.
AFAIK, even scamming somebody isn't against the forum rules, if you scam another person, you won't be banned.... BUT if you scam somebody and the victim offers proof, you'll get negative trust next to your name warning everybody you're a scammer.

Same thing with account sales: personally, i don't like them, but since there are people who have legit motives for buying accounts, i'm not going to tag somebody for buying a single account... Other people *might* tag you tough... Trust is unmoderated.
I even got a red trust from a guy who seems to be hanging out on AWS selling threads... One day he feels like browsing the technical support subforum where i usually hang out => he sees i'm asking information from new members in order to help them out => he just decides to add red trust to my profile because he feels i shouldn't be asking any information... Now, if he had any idear about the process of helping these people, he would have known that the information i asked is 100% necessary... But he just gave red trust without knowing what he was talking about... This is what i'm saying: you don't need to break any rules in order to receive red trust, but the *shadier* the thing you're doing is looking, the bigger the odds somebody will take offence.

Back to your initial problem: i think it's a fair guess that the account is locked because somebody used the recovery phrase... Did the seller give you a private key for a staked address by any chance? If not, the seller will be the only person that can help you, since unlocking an account required you to sign a message with a staked address.
2886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: btc not deposited even after a week on: January 23, 2018, 02:57:40 PM

This just reflects what i said in my previous post... The address 33phWJ4LxYKcXjPMzbz9qRpBRnrpAujkmc got funded with transaction ea97474a4a8eb33f1afc5007c27d2ddb1d61742b2a820386a790f6d0d0c369a9 which was confirmed on 2018-01-18 11:30:15.

The transaction funded 2 addresses:
33phWJ4LxYKcXjPMzbz9qRpBRnrpAujkmc was funded with an output of 0.00201496 BTC
3P5mt5L9e8APVt4A2Yys3VfLfVtnWch5fK was funded with an output of 0.2466122 BTC

Since the output funding address 3P5mt5L9e8APVt4A2Yys3VfLfVtnWch5fK was used to create new transactions, it's reasonably safe to assume that this was the sending wallet's change address. This means that 33phWJ4LxYKcXjPMzbz9qRpBRnrpAujkmc was the address generated by your davor wallet.

If this sounds about right, it's your davor wallet that's the problem... The transaction was broadcasted and succesfully confirmed, so you should contact the owner of the davor wallet and ask for an explanation. They're the only ones that can fix this.
2887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: btc not deposited even after a week on: January 23, 2018, 02:49:02 PM
here is my transaction id : 33phWJ4LxYKcXjPMzbz9qRpBRnrpAujkmc

no, that's your address Wink
the transaction id is (probably) ea97474a4a8eb33f1afc5007c27d2ddb1d61742b2a820386a790f6d0d0c369a9
this transaction is funding your address with either 0.00201496 or 0.2466122.

If this indeed your transaction, and your "davor wallet???" doesn't reflect this transaction, it's time you contact the owner or dev of your "davor wallet"
2888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: btc not deposited even after a week on: January 23, 2018, 02:43:35 PM
Its been a week now that i transferred 0.0065 btc to my davor wallet. The transaction showed complete after a day but there is no deposit in my walllet. I am really scared now. I dont trust crypto trading anymore now. If anybody know the solution plz let me know on my email address: sup2991@gmail.com
Please guys please help me.
Transaction hash : 17643461fb2e0d77ea12edeb85dd4578ee3034d4

Well... First of all, that's not a transaction hash... My best guess is that it's hash160, wich is the ripemd 160 hash calculated from the sha256 hash of the public key.

I've never heared about the receiving "davor wallet", which wallet did you use to send the BTC?

2889  Other / Meta / Re: Account stolen - this is ridiculous on: January 23, 2018, 11:18:11 AM
I'm not really a fan of account trading anymore, however, https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php indicates following line:

Today at 07:50:19 AM - hardpick - password reset via secret question

If i'm not mistaking, using the secret question still locks your account.

Just a guess here, but the email you received *might* be the email you got when you changed your own password, but then your account *might* have gotten locked because *somebody* tried to use the secret question... Just guesses here.

Anyways, expect your account to be neg tagged by DT members that dislike account sales pretty soon. A neg tag will not stop you from achieving your primary objective (posting pictures), however, it will stop you from trading without the use of an escrow.
2890  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining.... Does it pay? on: January 23, 2018, 07:45:32 AM
99% of the cloud mining companies are scams

1% of the cloudmining companies are "legit", but you have to realise that if it was safer/more profitable for them to mine for themselfs, they would do so... They are companies not charity's, and the mere fact they're selling cloud mining contracts means that it's either safer for them OR more profitable for them to sell you a contract opposed to just mining with their own hardware.

So, even if you are using a "legit" cloud mining company, you can rest assured that they're either selling all their risks in exchange for a small cut of the profit, or their contracts are constructed in such a way that the odds of you losing money are bigger than the odds of you making money.

Bottom line: if you buy a cloud mining contract, you're either buying the cloud mining company's risks (so the company no longer has to worry about price and diff fluctuations, cause they can just bill you for their service and terminate you contract if it's no longer profitable) OR you're just gambling...
2891  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bittrex have disabled my account on: January 22, 2018, 02:25:50 PM

2892  Other / Meta / Re: Nude art photography auction? on: January 22, 2018, 01:13:39 PM
Is it allow to sell prints with Nude art photography in Aution forum?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=73.0
for coins.

I don't see why not... I've seen people trying to sell erotic webcam sessions, subscriptions to porn sites and adult domains without real problems in the past... Just make sure you don't post NSFW images, and make sure you do add a nsfw tag to your post.

This being said, i don't know if there is a market for nude art prints, i do think a lot of people won't believe you are selling "official" prints, and just assume you're counterfeiting.

I'd suggest trying to find a trusted escrow that has at least a basic knowledge about rating art to help you handling payments and disputes,  with your current rank and trust level, i think your selling thread will be doomed from the start if you don't have an escrow at hand.
2893  Economy / Goods / Re: Have you been buying goods with cryptocurrency? If so, where? on: January 20, 2018, 11:30:15 AM
I've bought tons of stuff and payed using BTC. The main point is to pick vendors that have a good reputation, and make sure they use a good payment processor...
I've bought 4 hardware wallets in the past, both from trezor and ledger (directly from the manufacturer)
I've bought a new laptop from casekings.de
I've bought tons of gadgets from fasttech
I've bought precious metals from bitgild and suissegold (altough i would read my review on suissegold before actually purchasing from them!)
2894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Safety of coins on: January 20, 2018, 08:00:28 AM
According to me for bitcoin wallet blockchain(dot)com is the best and secure.

Well, if you really HAVE to go for the most unsecure category of wallets (online wallets and exchanges), blockchain is the most secure of the completely unsecure wallets.

Basically, ANY other kind of wallet that is still supported by a decent dev and run on a clean computer is more secure than an online wallet...
2895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Safety of coins on: January 19, 2018, 03:28:25 PM
can anyone help me about which is the easiest and safest place to keep coins/wallet?

Thanks

I have some of my coin in Myetherwallet.com. It's secure and safe, just don't lose your private key

you're in the bitcoin subforum... An online wallet like myetherwallet certainly isn't the safest, it's also not for BTC.
2896  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't withdraw funds on: January 19, 2018, 10:59:26 AM
And can I send new transaction to another address with higher fee? Or it must be the same?

The transaction isn't opt-in RBF, so you'll be creating a new transaction that just double spends the unconfirmed outputs. In this case, the address that gets funded can change.
Just restore your wallet in the latest version of electrum, wait untill the node you are connected to dropped the unconfirmed transaction, then use the unspent outputs that were used for the "hanging" transaction to create a new transaction with a high enough fee...

In order to pick the unspent outputs, go to view => show coins. Select the unspent outputs (holding down the shift key to select multiple), the right-click and spend Wink
2897  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't withdraw funds on: January 19, 2018, 10:41:35 AM
Hello,

I have a problem with withdrawing funds from wallet. I had bitcoins in Mycelium wallet and then I want to send them somewhere else. But transaction is still unconfirmed (already few days). So I used my 12 word seed to recover bitcoins in Electrum. And problem is that bitcoins are still resending, after every 2 days I see, that I have my funds back in wallet, so I try to send them to another address. But then it still resend to first adress and I don't know what can I do.

Thanks for every help, if there some is.
Could you post some transaction id's, that would make the whole thing a lot easyer..

Anyways, with the informat you've given, i can safely say that i'm sure electrum doesn't rebroadcast transactions... If somebody is rebroadcasting, it's eather mycelium or a person that is just pushing your raw transaction trough a node (i have no idear if mycelium rebroadcasts unconfirmed transactions, maybe somebody with mycelium experience will be able to clarify this).
If the electrum node you are connected to has dropped the unconfirmed transaction, you should be able to re-use the unspent outputs in a new transaction, even if *some* nodes still have the earlyer transaction in their mempool.
The result will be that a part of the nodes will still have the old tx in their mempool, and a part of the nodes will have the nex tx in their mempool... It'll lower your chances of getting your new tx confirmed, but if your fee is sufficiently high, that shouldn't matter to much.

2899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Safety of coins on: January 18, 2018, 03:30:00 PM
Safest: airgapped pc, hardware wallet or paper wallet
Easyest: depends on your defenition of "easy".

If you're after a wallet that can easily be generated and is almost free, a paper wallet is number 1. If you don't mind buying hardware and learning how to use your new wallet, a hardware wallet is much easyer for day-to-day usage.

In my opinion, nothing beats an airgapped pc running a non-hd version of core... But in this case, it's always a hassle to spend your funds, and you have to make very regular backups and keep your core version up-to-date...
2900  Economy / Reputation / suissegold.com review: not a scam, not very fast or communicative either on: January 17, 2018, 06:08:54 PM
I've recently purchased some items from suissegold.com. Because bitcoin is irreversible, i always use my due diligence before making a purchase. In suissegold's case, i read some trustpilot reviews, some reviews on their facebook wall, i looked up their VAT numbers, their address,... However, i couldn't find any information about them on bitcointalk.

This is why i wanted to share my experiences with suissegold...

First things first, the proof i did order some silver... This is one of the items i bought (i bought several items, but i do not want to share an inventory on this forum... Anonimity and stuff)

Now, for a small timeline of the things that happened:
  • On the 10th of december 2017, i purchased a couple items from suissegold. The total bill was less than 1000 pound (i'm not disclosing how much less). I payed the bitpay invoice, and my transaction was confirmed after ~2 hours (if memory serves me correctly)
  • I immediately received a couple mails, indicating they received my payment... After this: radio silence regarding my order
  • On the 13th, i broke radio silence since i was getting impatient... I did a couple purchases from bitgild, and they usually arrive at my doorstep after 3 working days, so i was fed up that after 3 working days, bitgild suissegold (fixed a typo) didn't even send me an update. I asked them some basic questions
  • Instead of answering my questions, suissegold decided to force me to fill in AML documentation and send an utility bill and a scan of my passport... Bummer... I already payed them, so i was forced to upload the documentation they asked. After reading their FAQ i could only come to the conclusion they reserved the right to ask anybody to fill in their AML bureaucracy (even for a 1€ purchase), however they only HAD to ask for this documentation for puchases of 10.000 pound and over... In other words, i felt like they don't trust their customers OR they use the AML documentation for stalling purposes...
  • I immediately filled the documentation, uploaded everything and sent a followup question, re-asking basically the same questions as before
  • The next day, they had to admit they didn't have everything i ordered in stock, they had to backorder, so i'd have to wait a couple of days... Why on earth they didn't notify me off this problem from the very start of the order, i'll never know. I felt like information this important should have been brought to my attention as soon as possible, and it was very unprofessional of them to wait untill i took some initiative before they gave me this info. From this point out: radio silence again
  • On the 8th of januari (29 days after ordering), a dhl courier is standing on my doorstep. I didn't realise it was suissegold's package, so i accepted it without checking the content.... Big mistake: only half my order was included.
  • I immediately mailed suissegold to inform them of this problem, and about a day later, it became clear to me that, eventough it took them 29 days to backorder "some" items, they still didn't have all items on stock, and they'd have to backorder some more, unless i agreed to receiving replacement products. I immediately agreed to this
  • Some days later, i received a mail from suissegold, informing me my order was completed. I had to contact their support department to get my hands on the tracking code, so i'd know when to expect dhl this time
  • On the 16th of januari (37 days after the intial order), i finally received the second part of my order

The packaging was fine, but the envelopes in which my items were packages reeked of cigarette smoke... Opening the packages was like stepping into a pub about 10 years ago (before the ban on cigarettes). The smell was so bad, the items itself actually still smell like cigarette smoke.
This was a problem that was equally bad for the first and second part of the order. One of the items i received has a nicotine "coating".

All in all: for me, suissegold was NOT a scam... I'd still use them in the future, but ONLY for smaller orders and ONLY when i'm able to wait a couple of months for my goods... I'd personally only use them if their price is a lot lower than other online retailers AND i'd make sure i mail them at least once a week to get the latest status. With suissegold, don't expect any proactive mails, don't expect to be contacted when they have problems, don't expect them to send tracking numbers, don't expect them to have everything they sell in stock, DO expect to fork over a scan of your utility bill and passport (even for smaller orders)... You either wait, or you start contacting them yourself
