2881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 23, 2021, 09:52:12 PM

Don't bet on a team, bet on the over because preseason is like an exhibition game, less defense so most probably the games will go over. However, we still have to look at the total and carefully analyze it because bookies are also smart, they know that thing too and no easy money in gambling for gamblers.

Yes, that's how you bet on pre-seasons, because betting on a team is like literally betting on a dice game lol.
Over and under might be less predictable what bookies will offer, but considering that there will be less defensive plays so I guess betting for Over would be the safest bet in a pre-season game.

We have less than 2 weeks before the pre-season and the first game will be an interesting one, and the ideal teams where you can bet for Over.

Yes, Brooklyn Nets vs LA Lakers. They want to start the preseason with more offensive showing so you are right, this could go over. Only one game at the start of the preseason and I think I'm betting on the over on this, probably the line would be at least 240 (over/under).
2882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 23, 2021, 09:20:19 PM
We have only ten days left for the pre-season games to start! I've already missed the regular season and the playoffs a lot. I don't usually watch pre-season games. But I see that we are going to have a really awesome game on Oct 3, Brooklyn Nets vs Los Angeles Lakers. I wonder if we will be able to see the usual starting five for both teams. If we do, then I will definitely watch this game. It can be a really delightful one and I would like to just enjoy watching the game.

If you are not betting, then obviously, you will not watch the regular season. But for bettors it' s important because they will see how his favourite team is doing and then can gauge every game as who is will win, what will be the handicap or if a team can make an upset, hence underdog bets. Teams changes or rotates their starting five in the initial phase of the regular season because they will have to experiment a lot and find the perfect line up. I'm sure though the starting game will be one of the most watch NBA opening season game.

He says the pre-season, most of us probably don't watch a preseason game as it's only an exhibition game to warm up the team a bit. It's a no-bearing game and probably the stars of a certain team will not play in full minutes, or will not play at all. For bettors, it's up to us if we bet on the preseason or we will just save our money and start betting when the regular season starts.

Betting on pre season games is crazy.  Literally a coin flip.  No one knows who will play, for how long, etc.  But as far as watching.  As a knick fan I definately will watch.  Like to see how the rookies and fringe players play as they don't get much burn te during the year.  Good look at the depth of the team.  As far as watching other tes pre season games I probably wont.

Don't bet on a team, bet on the over because preseason is like an exhibition game, less defense so most probably the games will go over. However, we still have to look at the total and carefully analyze it because bookies are also smart, they know that thing too and no easy money in gambling for gamblers.
2883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: September 23, 2021, 01:49:21 PM
I was surprised, to be honest about this fight.

The rumor was, Donaire canceled the fight against Casimero because he wanted to have a rematch against Inoue, but look what happen here, seems like he is not geeing a big fight easily as he has to beat the challenger first that was ordered to fight him before going to have a chance with Inoue.

I was thinking, what if Donaire did not cancel the fight against Casimero?
Maybe we will see a big fight this year.

That's the result of greediness, he could have already had a big fight with Casimero but he still finds a way to cancel the fight for his intention to fight Inoue, now he has to face Gaballo who is younger and hungry as well as a fighter. Although everyone thinks that Donaire would easily beat his challenger, but depending on the odds, I might go with the underdog.

Gaballo was the one who subs Donaire against Emmanuel Rodriguez when Donaire was infected with covid-19, and that fight ended in a controversial split decision. I think this is the best time for Gaballo to prove that he belongs to the champion's league and beating Donaire is more than a statement of confirmation that he really won the fight against Rodriguez.
2884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do Young Investors Prefer Cryptocurrencies? on: September 23, 2021, 01:26:03 PM
The only reason to your question is most of the young investors have low capital and bitcoin needs high capital  to get some handsome profit that is why they choose low price so they get more coins and when price will pump they will get some good profit from their low capital.
Most of the time young people are the smarter because they love to explore and take the risk when investing. Just try to go back in the past, if you invested when bitcoin was still below $1, and you buy at least 100 BTC, you are already a millionaire with the current price.

The real point is, those who take the risk early and HODL, are the ones who are very successful.
2885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 22, 2021, 09:43:15 PM
I saw a rumor today that the Lakers are going to be giving Monta Ellis a workout for the team. I’m not sure how old he is these days, but Monta was a killer back with the Warriors in Steph’s early days. If he can still play and is motivated to go for a championship, that could be a great pickup. Hopefully he’s still got some in the tank.
Yeah, Ellis was playing great with the Warriors, especially in the 9/10 season. By the way, he already worked out with the Rockets and the Mavericks a few weeks ago, but I hope the Lakers will sign a contract with him. Also, I think Monta Ellis can still play at least two seasons, considering that he is almost 36 years old.
He is inactive for 3 seasons, and his record on Indiana Pacers which his last team was not impressive. Well, if the Lakers will take chances then they can as Ellis would surely not demand a higher salary, and with this guy's experience, he can certainly help, I hope he still maintains playing basketball despite being out in the NBA for a while.

It's mandatory people, that means Donaire has to accept this fight and I think it's an easier fight compared to fighting Inoue or Casimero. This should be a tune-up fight for him before he will fight the two champions in the same division. Congrats to Gaballo for having an opportunity to fight the Flash, his undefeated record is at stake but he is with a big opportunity to make his name popular once he beat Donaire.
2887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador bought more BTCs on: September 21, 2021, 09:51:11 PM
Ehh, the dip buying is a bit more of a PR move in my opinion. He "only" bought 150 BTC, which is more or less $6.8 million. Whereas while El Salvador is definitely not a powerhouse country levels of wealthy, I don't think that $6.8 million will make a significant dent on their balance sheet.
That sounds right, they are holding bitcoin and now they are participating in the speculative game. They would ring a bell to the people as they are a country, but their holdings is not huge enough to be one of the whales that could result in significant market movement everytime they buy.
2888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH adoption lately is high on: September 20, 2021, 09:53:56 PM
The level of popularity of ethereum is still very far compared to the popularity of bitcoin, but what makes me amazed by ethereum is the level of adoption of Ethereum and the amount owned by ethereum is higher than Bitcoin, so many people have ethereum because they think ethereum is an altcoin worth investing in.
ETH is a platform, you can build on top of it so it's easy for people to adopt since a project can be built on top of ETH. While bitcoin is different, it's more like gold where people will choose to hold it instead of spending it. However, in terms of popularity, we know that bitcoin will always stay at the top and it's hard for bitcoin to dethrone despite there's a better coin than bitcoin in terms of functionality.

We are in the early stage yet, it's time to keep investing, and eventually in the future as massive adoption is achieved, we early investors will rip the benefits of our effort.
2889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Can XRP Achieve $5? on: September 20, 2021, 08:43:40 PM
In the current cryptocurrency market, XRP is one of the most popular coins. Its popularity is increasing at a rapid rate on a daily basis. Its price is now low, but I believe it will rise in the near future. In the foreseeable future, I predict XRP will reach $5. You can invest in XRP if you wish to. If you invest in XRP, you will gain.

The foreseeable future will be anything 2 to 3 years for XRP to get to that $5 mark you are looking at. If you think that $5 will happen before the end of this year you better forget it. Am not saying people should not buy it but they should not expect any maximum profit for a coin that has remained unreliable. If there is anything I expect from XRP at the moment that will be that it will dump to below $1 again. So if anyone wants to buy they better wait for it to drop before buying so as to avoid buying from the top.

XPR will drop if bitcoin will drop more, it's the trend, and we should follow the trend. The market has been bullish already and yet XRP does not break out, that only tells that it has not gained the confidence of the investors back yet, and it's not right to just focus on this coin when there's a lot of altcoins in the market that are showing their potential to give us a significant profit.

The best time to buy is when the market is bearish, let's wait for that situation as it looks like we are heading to that direction already.
2890  Economy / Speculation / Re: No BTC Holding is risky on: September 20, 2021, 08:00:04 PM
BTC Holding, in my opinion, is the winner. You must be able to keep it up-to-date without having to continually monitor the market to make judgments. Bitcoin should be something you hang on to for a time to ease tension and worry caused by significant price volatility. When it comes to investing, consistency is crucial. Assets retained for more than 5  years will have a significant influence on performance.

When you say holding, better HDOL it. It's very popular to us that "HOLD ON DEAR LIFE" already made lots of investors become rich. What we are witnessing now is another market crash, if we don't have the trust to HDOL, we will be one of the investors who will do panic selling and later regret.

Short-term traders may panic now, but if we are real long-term holders, what is happening now is nothing new to us.
2891  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: September 20, 2021, 07:41:34 PM
I’m stupid, and a bad “trader”. There was no need for me to be specialized in “technical-analysis” to buy the dip. I simply saved some of my monthly salary, zoomed out, and waited. I was also very lucky.

Your strategy in investing bitcoin can also be considered good and profitable in the long run. If you consistently buy every correction and hold it in the long term, then I believe you can also make big profits. Regardless of what strategies we have used so far in investing, buy the dip seems much more popular now.

I once heard a story about someone who regularly invests in bitcoin every day. He started to think bitcoin was a safe and profitable store of value in the long term and decided to invest every day regardless of how much it cost. After a few years, he made a completely unexpected profit from his habit of investing. I think this strategy is almost similar to your investment strategy.

I believe it is starting to become very very obvious that the current crash is another golden opportunity to start looking for discounts? Plus if this might indeed be the bear market, wait longer/be more patient/save and save your money. You want to have something to buy with when the time is right. Cool

This is a huge dump, but it's normal in crypto, we just have to find out if this is just a one-time crash or the crash will continue. If it will, then we might be heading to a bear market which is definitely a real golden opportunity to buy as this means we will see a much lower price that would cause a bigger panic.
2892  Economy / Speculation / Re: The arrival of new people in the world of cryptocurrency is really fun on: September 20, 2021, 02:20:59 PM
When the market is bullish you can expect that more people will come to join the forum, that's always the trend.

As we can see in the analytics, we have over 2 million visits so far. https://www.similarweb.com/website/bitcointalk.org/#overview
Which means, a lot of people are interested to get an idea in this forum, and as a member, we should be honest with our opinion so they will not be misled.

question is, what if this current dump will result in a bear market? will these newcomers would still stay?
2893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price last until the end of the year? on: September 20, 2021, 01:36:18 PM
your asking as if the price will run dry but no it wont happen to bitcoin because it was the most used coin here in crypto although the obvious answer to your question is unkown . since btc is volatile ,
theres no guaranteed that 50k will remain staple till the year ends and infact we are already under the 50k mark again but my instincs says that it will not stay there any longer and we will return once again to 50k weeks or months after .

Panic will again start once bitcoin hits $30k+ again. Remember that the lowest price of bitcoin this year is $29k, that's after it hit the ATH which is $64k. Imagine, if you have no idea about the nature of crypto, you would easily panic seeing a big dump, ad it seems happening again, so are we still gonna panic even if we witness many times already that bitcoin will always bounce back?
2894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: End of bull run so we sell everything? on: September 20, 2021, 12:46:38 PM
Keep an eye on the market because XRP might increase in price again because today the XRP price is $0.9 or still below $1. My advice, specifically XRP is better if you hold on because right now the market is in a good moment to buy not sell, because coins like XRP are likely to increase in price again.

It will increase if the market will bounce back, currently, XRP is already down by 14%, and this is what I'm saying that when Bitcoin falls, the entire market will fall as well. I have a feeling that once again, bitcoin will drop below $40k, and that will result in heavy losses for altcoins, and this could be the end of the bull run.
2895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: September 20, 2021, 08:04:23 AM
and also I am aiming for Casimero to win here as to take revenge from the lose of His fellow Filipino Donaire .
Im also rooting for Casimero to win here because he is a Filipino. The past fight of Inoue and Donaire is a friendly match and I think there's no hate feelings between each other. If there's someone to avenge Donaire from his lost to Inoue, its only Donaire himself. Thus if ever they were given a chance to be on the ring again that would be an exciting fight.
No, it was a real competition, though Inoue and Donaire are friends outside the ring, that doesn't mean they will not give their best and be the beast in the fight. Inoue had some trouble in the early rounds, but he was smart, he was able to take advantage using his quickness and those solid jabs of him is very effective.
2896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 95% of cryptocurrencies are fraudulent on: September 20, 2021, 07:44:55 AM
Criticizing cryptocurrencies, stating that "95% of cryptocurrencies are scams, it's true, just look at the many projects that have emerged in the crypto world but most of them don't have a clear market, so it's trash in the wallet, don't know how long it will end in such a way, and also many who make projects immediately without any permission even some of them are unprofessional and sometimes the goal is to want to know the address of other people's wallets so that they can be hacked
That tells that only a few of the investors are really successful in investing, well, I'm hoping that they will eventually think, change their mindset, don't view crypto as a Ponzi scheme because it never is, only an investor that is lack knowledge would think of that. The more crypto gets popular, the more scams are happening, it's simply because of the lack of regulation, hence some coins are highly manipulated.
2897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding 5 years a just a imagination on: September 19, 2021, 09:28:10 PM
I'm in support of this motion of yours. One doesn't necessarily needs to hodl for that long except for the Top 5-10 that feel the urge of breaking their ATH. Bitcoin, ETH, BNB to be precise.
These are the top 3 coins for me too although Cardano has overtaken BNB already in the ranking per https://coinmarketcap.com/. In the long run, a coin that has a better development will stay consistent and probably improve its ranking and I believe BNB and ETH will only be the tough competitor in the altcoins ranking, at least they'll rank in 1 or 2.
2898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - October 5 on: September 19, 2021, 08:50:47 PM
I'm going to wait for Kambosos via decision odds, I think that would be attracted than the ML.

I reckon it could be close? I'm not expecting Kambosos to have an attractive odd of 10.00 or something via a decision odds, but I might be wrong here.

I'm not that good at analyzing the odds, but I have a feeling that the odds will not be over 10.00, it should be between 7-8 and that's good since Kambasos is not really a KO artist, and if he wins here, it would also be hard for him to KO Lopez as he is too smart to beat. How about the odds for a draw?

Same with Lopez, he is also not a knock-out artist, actually, Kambosos has only 10 KO wins compared to Lopez's 12.
As we can see in the comparison of the two fighters, both are almost in the same height, same reach and both are Orthodox fighters.

https://www.mytopsportsbooks.com/boxing/picks/lopez-vs-kambosos-07-22-2021/

If George Kambosos Jr. will win, I would assume that he wins because he has more experience.

There's only a slight advantage in terms of experience, usually, that's not a major thing to consider as a good fighter could really upset the champion, just like what Lopez did to Lomachenko who is an experienced fighter already before going pro, and he has a lot of big fights compared to Lopez. By the way, Lomachenko is also an Olympian, he won gold in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
2899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Have you given up on airdrop? on: September 19, 2021, 08:14:42 PM
I'm not giving up completely, I still participate in some airdrops but not many. Did you participate in 20 airdrops without receiving any of them?. Did you do the research before joining?. Airdrop is no longer a place where we can make money but not all of them are scams. You better skip if you don't have time to choose and focus on the bounty campaign, I think it will be better.
If I may ask, what are the free airdrop that you have participated in this year and you were able to make a profit? I'm just curious because I did not see any airdrop this year that is free for those who participate and that gives a decent amount when the free coin/token is received.
2900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Cardano really reach 20$+ near end of year? on: September 19, 2021, 01:23:27 PM
I've been seeing many price speculations on ADA. Some say that its impossible due to market cap and some say it has so much potential to do it. What would be the sensible valuation you think it could be near end and why?

I thought it wouldn't happen, even if the mainnet of ADA is successful, then of course I'm still not sure if the price of ADA can reach $20 by the end of this year, because I think the price of ADA can reach $20 is very difficult for now (the current price is very far from $20) and I predict if the price of ADA may only reach $5 by the end of this year.

$5 is more realistic, however, I think the market has to be bullish as well in order for ADA to pump, otherwise, it's unlikely to pump if bitcoin will undergo a serious correction that may lead to a heavy dump. We know the drill here, the trend of bitcoin is normally followed by the altcoins.
