Many thanks qaaq.

Oh dear, when you start going over 4 port, these things are horribly expensive.  Can anyone think of an alternative way of achieving this?  Some kind of virtual control system?

okay  ebay has good deals on 4 port  I have 3 give me 1 minute for links

here is a quality 4 port for 170

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RCTNKW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?

same one used for  60
http://www.ebay.com/itm/IOGEAR-GCS1774-4-PORT-SYMPHONY-KVM-SWITCH-USB2-0-NTWK-AUDIO-/251630505570?

but you need to buy cables  these work with  video cards that have hdmi

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-HDMI-DVI-Adapter-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=sr_1_1?

these work if your video card has dvi out put.
https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-DVIMM3-3-Feet-Digital-Monitor/dp/B00HS2257O/ref=sr_1_42?

plus you need these

28903  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Question] Do big mining pools have benefits ? Are they very profitable ? on: September 18, 2016, 01:13:46 PM
I would still mine to one of the pools like Kano.
You can get technical advice from them on this forum, which is worth a ton, IMO.
They also have lower fees and in general you are going to make the same, or more.
There are some threads here where people have done the math showing you actually make more money in the long run from these pools.

I did a thread that showed long term set it and forget mining at Kano.is is the most profitable way to mine.

My miners mine there 24/7/365.
28904  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [40+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,FR,NL on: September 18, 2016, 12:47:23 PM

Still no idea why it got deleted here, but I moved the question to the KNC thread out of respect to some mystery person who deleted it here for unknown reasons.  Overall, very strange.

Probably just some trigger happy mod that misinterpreted the discussion. Oh wait I'm the only active mod in mining.

Grin Grin  Ahhh so your guilty  and self admitting it!!!  Lets get the torches  and pitchforks Grin Grin

meant as a joke  please do not delete.

I have a simple answer if KFC  stops mining  less then 50ph will go poof which is pretty much a very small amount of ph.

To bring up another point when will avalon release gear. (Sept 7 source was not accurate)

With only bitmaintech providing gear the Asic market is stagnate and not sure if I want to be all in with just bitmain in the game.

I know CK and Kano both are anti-alt coin  but this bitmaintech monopoly is really helping alt coin more then btc.  Which brings me back to When can I buy some avalon?
28905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help with claymore miner and adding more GPUs on: September 18, 2016, 12:34:33 PM
what is wrong with you bro?

same thread by you right here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1619720.0

and you have this thread here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1619816.0

but I will try to be nice.

lets go from the beginning

your motherboard is?
your cpu is?
your ssd is?
your ram is?
your psu is?
your video cards are?
your os is?

First answer is to your choice of ssd  32gb is too small  get a bigger one

https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Digital-SSDNow-SV300S37A-120G/dp/B00A1ZTZOG/ref=sr_1_1?

44 bucks and no more problems  as the 120gb ssd should be fine

Second answer your video cards are lumped together and pointed at the pool as one miner>

i know of  no one that seperates cards on one pc .

i just have 9 pc's with 23 cards soon to be 9 pcs with 24 cards

rig 1 four cards seen as a  single 96-99mh  miner
rig 2 four cards seen as a single 96-99mh   miner
rig 3 three cards seen as a single 66-70mh miner
rig 4 three cards seen as a single 66-70 mh miner
rig 5 two cards  seen as a single  44-50mh miner
rig 6 two cards  seen as a single  42-46 mh miner
rig 7 two cards   seen as a single  41 -44 mh miner
rig 8 one card soon to be 2
rig 9 two cards seen as a single  40-44 mh miner

28910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help with adding GPUs to claymore miner on: September 17, 2016, 11:11:22 PM
I'm newer and still learning, I've done a search however most links bring me back to the release post on bitcointalk for claymore. I'm looking for help or an example of how to add 2-3 GPUs to the software and be able to identify them. If someone could show me an example of there command line in their bat file that would really help!

Thanks!

bat files don't need anything to detect 2 or 3 miner

this bat file will find all of my 4 cards

if I mine at ethpool.org

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal <Your_Ethereum_Address>.<RigName> -epsw x

I might be over thinking this, by RIGname is means 1 complete CPU set, not each individual card in the CPU set up is this correct? Is there a way to break it down to each card in a "rig" or CPU set up?

not that i know of  i just have 9 pc's with 23 cards

rig 1 four cards
rig 2 four cards
rig 3 three cards
rig 4 three cards
rig 5
rig 6
rig 7
rig 8 one card soon to be 2
rig 9 two

Ive been mining with claymore, for the last 24 hours and now my SSD is full, is there a setting to adjust or something i can delete in the miner? its only a 32gb SSD with NOTHING else on it. any help would be great!

From the Readme file included with claymores miner.

-dbg   debug log and messages. "-dbg 0" - (default) create log file but don't show debug messages.
"-dbg 1" - create log file and show debug messages. "-dbg -1" - no log file and no debug messages.

I read that and, this is prob a stupid question but why would i choose any of those options? are they more for trouble shooting? And if i add these to my bat file will it fix my issue or will i need to manually delete the old logs?

buy a bigger ssd  don't be cheap  32gb is too small

Have you not considered the 29 MHs low power ROMs that are available?

Less W used = less heat generated.

Might be worth considering

No one has shown me that the watts per mh are less.

Everyone I see scales equally at about 6 watts an mh.

I can not see anyone that beats my 590-610 watts at th k-watt meter four cards 100 mh

I would need to see a kwatt meter doing under 690 watts and the mh at 116

Until I see the 29mh do less then the 25 mh they are not so good since I resell the gear.

The 29mh use more power then the 25mh which means death to the cards a little faster.

If I saw a 25 mm custom rom that beats my power for four cards say 560 watts vs 590 same mh I would also try it.

So far I ,stay see 6 watts per mh as the bottom low.  At the kwatt meter at the gpu-z I have seen 70-75 watts.

I have 6X390 using 1040W from the wall with platinum PSU. It hash about 165 MH/s. So that is 6.3W/MHz. I think your 480 should do much better.

I have yet to see a k-watt reading that show rx 480 cards doing much under 6 watts an mh 590 for 100mh is the best I do at the kwatt meter.  that is 5.9 watts per mh. on a plat psu .

if you can do 1040watts for 165 mh  which is 6.3 w/mhz that is one of the best numbers around.  did you alter the bios?

to anyone with links that beat 5.9watts per mh at the k-watt meter please post link with a photo.

I do not say it can be done I just have not seen one  say 4 rx 480s at 100 mh and 550 watts at the wall

or 6 rx 480s at 150 mh and 825 watts at the wall.

are those total system pulls or just the cards minus the system power draw?

My best system tweaked gets 590-610 watts at the k-watt meter . This is everything .

finally figure out what the issue was with the third four card board from biostar  very simple issue the cpu was bad not the mobo. For some reason the cpu only allows 2 pcie lanes on any mobo.

This makes the second intel cpu to be bad in my life.  one was a i7-6700k  the other (this one in the biostar ) was an intel i5 6400t.

I know this is a side bar but if intel has more issues with the newest 14-16mn chips  just think about the issues the asic 14-16nm chips will and are having.

I now am running 3 cards on the biostar  3x 470's.  still a bit flakey with the fourth card  it wants to do   25+25+25+5 mh.

But I now have two 4 card rigs  and a 3 card rig.  From the biostar boards.  I will see what more I can do with them.

Blatant plug for Bitmain Warranty .com https://bitmainwarranty.com/shop/products/us/antminer-s9-12-9ths/

If in the US, they now offer call it, pre-paid local service warranty for 90 and 180 days. If a board breaks, cheaper to pay up-front to send to them in Colorado vs shipping to Hong Kong with all that entails. re: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1618169.0

Not that it matters but do they have the legal right to name themselves bitmainwarranty? Are they affiliated with Bitmain at all?

yes they have a connection.  Somewhere on bitmain.com  there is a page with referrals to bitmainwarranty
28918  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmainwarranty of Colorado is offering extended s-9 warranty options on: September 17, 2016, 12:42:20 AM
guys instead of playing lawyer look at the deal.

a 12.93th is 1540 and 60 to ship = 1600  ordered from china  must pay in btc or bank check.  it is out of stock.

a 12.93th is 1589 + 25 to ship = 1614 it is in stock tack on 170 for 180 warranty  and you are at 1784 with a 180 day warranty vs a 90 day warranty.

ship to usa from usa plus return ship = 45 -50 and you can insure for full value.

ship to China from China  = 110-140   3 weeks and you must insure for 45 or lower.

The deal is better  is it night and better no  but it is better.
