If they want and decide so, bank could always create its own modified version of the bitcoin - bank's new altcoin (one of the similar thousands in the future).
No need to accept bitcoin with so huge blockchain or additional undesirable security risks (seen at the many exchanges or online wallets stealings) at all.

because it is limited , unlike fiat currency
The very best answer I think. Other reasons include the speculative Ponzi games in which the most of the supporters believe and are trying to involve new believers, mostly.

How many people with the positive btc balance downloaded/updated whole blockchain this month?
I think less than 10% from that ones with the positive balance.
|
|
|
Let assume 10% growth of the blockchain monthly. Quite real assumption.
It means growth of 3x every year.
It means blockchain growth of 81x every 4 years.
Exponential low.
This may be somewhat slower or faster which depends on the real world acceptance of bitcoin.
I think bitcoin and other virtual coin will remain "good" communitiy experiment only. Tools for "playing" on the exchanges and creating very few very rich people - it depends on the "communities" again.

Zcash will have the same number of coins as BTC. Yet it traded at over 3000 BTC per Zcash. At that price based on 21 million coins it would have a final market cap of $30 Trillion USD....
Is that right?
It depends on the part of the world you live in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_large_numbers

|
Trading started at the theoretical valuation 10-20 folds higher than BTC marketcap.
Any comments to the next price direction?

250 MB is too much for the mix of source code, some dependencies and .exe. All of that is not necessary. We need clean goldcoin source only.
Remove subfolders:
BuildDeps RunDeps
from github sources.
We have this: https://github.com/goldcoin/gldcoin/tree/barerepoIs that okay? I think some people might want the dependencies and others not. This way we have both. In that folder configuration files necessary for compiling are missing.

It seems it is impossible to compile the newest bitcoin develoment source from https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoinIt was all ok before two weeks and earlier. Any changes in the configuration files necessary?

Did anybody successfully compile bitcoin-v10 with Qt5.4.1 or Qt5.4.0 using mingw4.9.2 or mingw4.9.1 for Windows?
|

It seems almost impossible to download whole blockchain no matter from where I start syncing (from the beginning, or from some of the downloaded blockchains).
I think Colossuscoin is by source code the closest related to the Bottlecaps coin and it should be updated on the same way as Bottlecaps is.
Otherwise, for many people including me it will not be possible to send coins and participate in Colossuscoin version 2.
Any solutions for this problem?

It seems there are no working addnodes now.
|
|
|
Does anybody have working addnodes for COL 1.5.2?
|
|
|
Where is the source code of version 1.5.2?
How about making 3 steps through the time: -removing all staking from blockchain -making Colossuscoin compatibile with latest Litecoin -making Colossuscoin compatible with Netcoin (to have both mining and staking)?
I don't know if it is hard to remove all staking from blockchain.
I think this 3 stages could help.

What are your predictions for Quark. Could it possibly hit $0.1??
nobody knows ;-) This coin is a little above the geometrical mean of the highest and the lowest price Mean is mean although it is not arithmetical.

Considering there's development on this project, may I ask what the point of the project is? There are other more stable functional coin projects.
The point is coin Which stable functional coins do you like?

While waiting for lower price, you can try to check if everything is ok with new OpenSSL 1.0.2 in my Quark wallets at: http://quarkcoin.orgfree.comAlways do backups of your wallets!
