digital anarchy? the cable companies, at least in the U.S., are basically decoupling themselves from net neutrality laws.. they are going to become absurdly powerful.
That kind of blatant tyranny could be just the kind of spark the sleeping citizens need...

I see the opposite. The blockchain will be used to not only decentralize our currency but also any sort of centralized power that would use the blockchain against us.
What about the centralized power of a convoluted idea? Think of our governance system, hundreds of years in the making, millions of rules applied, ratified, and discarded. The idea has become unmanageable and terribly outdated against current developments. Absolutely correct, and well said. Decentralization is the end of oppression, possibly even the beginning of the end of war. For the first time in my life I feel a reason to be optimistic about the future of humanity.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_InternetIt took 7 years for the internet to go from handling 1% to 51% of all two-way information. Another 7 years it went from 51% to 97%. It only took that long because the internet didn't already exist. The world's transition from fiat to crypto will be at least one order of magnitude faster. Meaning we're looking at 3-5 years for massive global adoption similar to what happened with the internet itself. What I'm saying to you, dear reader, is that you should melt as much of your fiat into crypto as possible ASAP.

This is a surprisingly long article on Bitcoin. The title used the word "anarchy" in a positive way... "The measure of the state’s success is that the word anarchy frightens people, while the word state does not. We are like those African slaves who believe that their master is their benefactor, or those Russians who still believe that Stalin was their guardian." -Joseph Sobran This is a surprisingly long article on Bitcoin. Some would say overly long. See what the age of Twitter has done to the attention span of readers? Tragedy, travesty, disgrace, and shame. Nothing could be more important than patience and critical thinking skills in readers...

if bitcoin becomes the world currency, we wouldnt pay that:
*pic of exorbitant fees*
This is exactly WHY Bitcoin is destined to become the currency of Earth... ...capitalism leaves the world with no choice! Bitcoin is a cheaper, faster, more secure, more sensible, more scientific way of doing money! Middle-men parasites of the finance world, good riddance! OP's math looks solid, btw.

And how do people pay taxes? Welcome to the new world. Taxes, nation-states, and the systematic dominance and violence they necessitate are all being made obsolete before your very eyes. Even war will go the way of the dodo, in time. The future is reason, truth, and mathematics. Violence, coercion, and deception - the hallmarks of nation-state existence - are the past.

I very much doubt that wikileaks is anything other than red-herring disinformation that is being used to steer public perception in a certain way, while the people who have created it (most likely the cia) veil their ulterior motives as they roll out entities such as Julian Assange and Edward Snowden to further implement their agenda to deliver false information to the public via the media. Put down your crackpipe. Wikileaks is not misinformation.

bitcoin is supposed to be about people who question authority, but i see a lot of mob mentality with bitcoiners.
nah bitcoin is not about questioning authority. its about knowing authorities will only reply with lies. so instead, bitcoiners make their own rules that dont need outside control. doesnt need anyone owning us. QFT. They lie because they believe themselves to be our masters, by right of their fancy titles and elections won by marketing teams. They back up this authority with violence. I disagree, and I say any government is an unjust tyrant if they must rely on force instead of reason. "Whoever lays his hand on me to govern me is a usurper and tyrant, and I declare him my enemy." -Pierre Joseph Proudhon "To be GOVERNED is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be GOVERNED is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be place[d] under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonored. That is government; that is its justice; that is its morality." -Pierre Joseph Proudhon, 1851, from The General Idea of the Revolution in the Nineteenth Century

americans own the most number of bitcoins, and a lot of startups are from the U.S... so i don't get the point of the article.
The author is just stating that opening a Bitcoin venture somewhere in the Bitcoin-friendly nations (such as Alderney) (...) What the flying fuck is an Alderney? Did you just make up a nation? Kind regards, An American.

Right now, the majority of the general public (not only in the US, but also in other nations) is having a bad opinion about Bitcoin. It is due to the unrelenting media war being waged against the crypto-currency. But if we could spread the information about various advantages of Bitcoin, then I am sure that the popular opinion will change dramatically.
QFT, but it doesn't really matter. We're looking at 3-5 years for massive global adoption no matter what lies the media spreads. Bitcoin is really shaking things up. The inevitable is coming.

The real problem with Bitcoin is that it's too advanced for a lot of people. Yep, Bitcoin is still not "user friendly" for the vast majority of plebs. It's also still seen as very "scary / risky". "What if my computer gets hacked and I lose all my money?" Both these issues will be resolved sooner rather than later, and when they are we can expect to see a tremendous surge in the value of BTC.
