This thread needs to be given to ethc. Eth-hf needs a new thread.
Meh.. The few thief-friends can go somewhere else and have their own party. Thanks, join my petition https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1559622.0The thread is now misleading as the the original ethereum is now called ETHC which retains being immutable. ETH-HF must create a new announcement with new ethos and current thread given to ETHC. Another possibility is locking the thread since that version of ethereum no longer exists. You misunderstood. The hacker-thief-supporters which are not the majority, but seemingly a tiny tiny minority paying to look bigger. YOU and those supporters should go somewhere else. This thread is for the main project of ETH... and as voted, the thief is not part of it. You don't seem to understand as well.. Its not a "thief" - it's merely someone who found a flaw in the code and used it for its own advantage. The DAO contract was bugged - not ETH and IMHO a rollback / hardfork because a bugged contract should absolutely NOT be possible in a modern, decentralized crypto currency. However - they forked it anyway which is the right decision for some people and the wrong decision for others, you probably never get it right for everyone. "it's merely someone who found a flaw in the code and used it for its own advantage." - which makes him a thief. Kind of like when a bank accidentally deposits money into the wrong account, and they roll back the transaction. If you withdrew the money you get charged, etc. Isn't Ether supposed to be different? I thought we weren't able to do this with crypto. I thought cryptocurrencies were supposed to be different than banks. Ether proved me wrong. Imagine you win in the lottery and then the lottery manager comes and says "ah sorry, bug in the code, you won't get anything we just changed the rules"...

Unfortunately blocks are still not accepted, even with this patch you get an error with "miner does not HODL" or something similar..
Thanks OC, if you could post that error, it would be helpful and speed in getting this problem resolved for you. Update on this: I was talking this through with Fuzzbawls and here is some information on current state of play. In V2 - GetBlockTemplate will error out as it doesn't add a TX with hodled funds as is required post 86000 Fork In Fuzzbawls patched version - iss67 - this problem is corrected and a coinbase TX with hodled funds is added. https://github.com/hodlcoin/hodlcoin/tree/iss67_patchHowever, we assume existing pool and third party miner software is then overwriting this TX with an unhodl'd TX, resulting in a "miner does not HODL" error. Therefore, we recommend pools and 3rd party miners use the iss67 patch, but either do not overwrite the TX, or overwrite it with a valid HODL'd TX. I'm aware of the issue and I know how to fix it but I'm out of time for this project currently and to be honest my interest is also currently at some other coins/projects. Maybe someday...

you probably forgot to self mod your thread, huh ?

Can you please add Stratum Support for SIA at https://sia.suprnova.ccI have 99.6% efficiency there with stratum and about the same speed with the Windows miner by wolf which is much better The problem is every pool started to implement own Stratum protocol for Siacoin, it's not a good idea. Now I check them in details... Message me or contact me in IRC if you need any help, my implementation is quite similar to DCR implementation. Actually there is no other stratum implementation for Sia currently. What about this? http://siamining.com/helpI'm unsure why they changed the the header specs, it's still no "true" stratum, it's the also regular getwork-over-tcp like my implementation just with longer ntime and nonce fields - it would have been wiser to communicate and build ONE protocol where everyone works on instead of forking "my" sgminer and changing some values and calling it "true" stratum However, you might want to implement both, the second one just uses longer fields. I don't want to implement both though I can add an option to miner which will select protocol. The reason is that several protocols will cause problems when users will try wrong option value. And then they will ask me why my miner does not work, again and again, on every page. As a pool owner, you implement one Stratum version. But I have to support them all. There is also third stratum version, mine (in ethereum-proxy style), so it becomes really funny. I will add support for all protocols if you cannot select some one stratum version, but it will take some time. IMHO "full" stratum is really not needed as entropy with the 64bit headers is more than enough, I see decent efficiency on https://sia.suprnova.cc (>99%) with my current implementation. It's not bitcoin, it's a more modern header and hashing algo, so why reinvent the wheel. I absolutely see your point though, I had to follow "your" implementation also because people wanted to mine ETH & DCR However, "my" protocol is based on my DCR protocol, so you already have it

Don't worry about it - it thinks everything is a block because it doesn't have the network diff. I don't deliver network diff from the pool currently because of the different nature of this coin. It will be fixed soon, it's nothing to worry about and just an optical thing.

Suprnova just hit their first block, and are paying a bonus 20%. Come join at sia.suprnova.cc but you will need to download their stratum version sgminer from site.
jouh, great for beginners... "Use this SGMiner for mining !" links to a file- and folder-clutter. Must I compile this miner by myself? A completely empty Help/Getting started page is also great. No thanxx, IŽll stay at Siamining.com. Works fast and easy with Gominer. Ah sorry, I must have missed this, fixed now https://sia.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=gettingstarted

ocminer, occasionally I see the miner reporting things like: Found block for sia.suprnova.cc! Accepted 1e73b3c6 Diff 8.407/1.000 BLOCK! GPU 1 But the pool seems to not have found a block, so something might be wrong. It's not. It's fine. No block yet, but hopefully soon. Still 20% bonus

What's the expected time to find a block with 10GH/s?
50% chance in about 5 days Hmm that's a bit long.. Anyone interested in testing a low stale / reject stratum enabled Mpos pool? ( https://sia.suprnova.cc) ? Msg me, no fees currently for beta testers and expected about 15-20% more payout with stratum How is stratum going to improve a miners payout by %20? (Unless you mean the bonus 20%, which you mentioned in a later post.) I've seen that improvement on my ETH pool quite some time ago.. About 15-20% more with tcp based stratum instead of http based getwork. Your mileage may vary, miners have to test.

ocminer your link doesn't seem to have a sgminer.exe for windows. I would be more than happy to test for you if you post a link and example config. You know where to find me.
I'm on it.. I've contacted a few people for compiling the sgminer for me but got no feedback so far unfortunately. I'm giving away 20% bonus per Block on https://sia.suprnova.cc for the everyone joining and mining. The miner's source is in the header, ready for the linux guys, maybe someone trusted on windows who can compile could post a binary for us here too. Generally with stratum you should see an overall increase on efficiency by pool mining, almost no stales and duplicates (like it did the improvement with ETH), let me know if you see a difference.

Sure, can switch from the siapool I'm currently mining at to give it a go.
Cool, I'll send you a pm

ocminer, what siacoin miner works with stratum and your pool?
A customized sgminer for AMD, i got everything working on Testnet but need to make sure it works on mainnet too. Would you be able to test?

It could be you are trying to run a 64 bit executable on a 32 bit system which won't work
