2901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Assuming on: January 08, 2022, 12:11:42 PM
Let's have this fun conversation today 😁 assuming BTC is just entering the space today and was never released in 2009 will BTC succeed like what it has come to be today? Assuming ETH was the first coin and we have every other coins like doge and xrp then BTC now come out in 2022 what do you think will happen?
I think who ever comes first will be the first one succeed because they will be the prime movers. But there's also this factor like the enigma of Satoshi who I believed also added what bitcoin has become. People started to be curious as to what bitcoin is and what it can it bring. So I think it will still be on top if ever ETH comes first in the crypto space. BTC is going to overtake it and will still have the support of early crypto investors, in my opinion.
2902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 08, 2022, 11:46:36 AM
-snip-
Thurman is training himself, you can check on his social media. But yeah training alone and training while fight with real boxer are different, he need to warm up first before fight with Barrios.

He's still 33 years old, I don't think he would retire when he's still in prime conditions Grin his previous fight with Pacquiao is big lesson for him to become better. But still, I'll pick Thurman for this fight, Barrios aren't really powerful IMO.
I think Mario Barrios will be always on the fight but at the end of the day I just believe that Keith Thurman is the much better fighter, the most experience fighter, the much bigger and the much stronger fighter than Barrios. And there is a possibility that Keith Thurman can K.O Mario Barrios. Thurman winning this fight but it will be a competitive one.
That is really a big possibility because Thurman is known to have big power, the only weaknesses in Thurman is body shots in which Manny takes advantages of during their fight. When you hit Thurman with a good body shot, it will obviously slow him down so I think that will be a good strategy for Barrios. And who knows, maybe if he hits him perfectly in the "solar plexus", maybe it will have a bad effect on Thurman and will go down and take a knee.
2903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 08, 2022, 11:10:19 AM
Brooklyn Nets are still having a really bad run recently. In the game that Kyrie Irving played also, they finally won after a break of three games. But last night, KD-Harden duo couldn't do what they wanted exactly and they lost to Bucks home by 121-109. Giannis had an impressive performance having 31 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. B. Portis was also good having 25 points and 12 rebounds. KD played still strongly but Harden lacked his usual performance.
That's the problem. It's like when you are cooking one recipe, you don't put salt just occasionally. You do it every time you cook the same food.
The consistency will be gone if Kyrie Irving will just be playing outside Brooklyn. Energy was filling up when he was there last game but now that he is not it suddenly went down.
IMO, it's not healthy for both the team and their coaching staff. It's confusing if they have other types of play when he is around and another when not.
And on the contrary, if Kyrie can't play then they will definitely have a problem because of consistency. I'm not surprised by the lost to Bucks. I mean Giannis wanted to make a statement in this game that they are the defending champion and they've lost in their last game against a low team so that really have to bounce back today with a big win against the Nets with KD and Harden around.
2904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: January 07, 2022, 04:06:45 PM

As far as previous updates are concerned about when is the reschedule date, no changes to the first date and it's still likely to be March or April.

However, the venue might be changed and that's what organizers are dealing with right now.

Regardless, I like the fight to be held on the original venue, Saitama Super Arena in Japan so that Murata will somehow have an advantage as fans watching live to support someone will boost a boxer's morale despite being an underdog on that match.
I also still like it to proceed on the same venue in Japan, at least we will see how GGG will respond to the crowd because for sure they are going to cheer for Murata here.

However, we've seen that GGG is not affected by it, I remember him fighting Kell Brook in O2 arena and it's pro-Brook crowd obviously. But it doesn't bother GGG a bit as he stop Brook and broke his orbital bone that fight.
2905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to Hit $150,000 in 2022 on: January 07, 2022, 03:12:33 PM
most likely 2022 is the year of correction, and when that will happen, that means bitcoin might dump $30k to $20k

Writing not to say other things and then thinking that this is the most likely outcome without any reasoning's just... well. Not that I don't agree it's a possibility but it's hard to see "correction" and "dump" in the same sentence, and even suggesting $20k without reflecting on the consequence of impact.

Bitcoin has never, ever, reverted to an ATH from a previous cycle (I think I actually asked a few months ago and it was confirmed), so there would be deep panic levels if that were to happen. If dumping were to ensue, that would hardly be a correction.

I think the value of 20k is very unrealistic although it does not rule out the possibility that it could happen. if the value of bitcoin reaches 20k then the market will be very chaotic, there must be a tremendous panic in the market, people will buy it very much. I hope we don't panic if the value of bitcoin drops to 20k.
That's what members here are shouting during 2018, when the market is turning into a bearish mode.

They said that bitcoin will not go ~$10k, but look at where the price goes during the worst bearish market of 2018-2019 and to some extend 2020 wherein the price really goes down hard to $3k. So expect the unexpected, even the worst if we really enter a bear market this year.

And let this be a lesson for everyone as well, a bear market is really hard to swallow for the majority of us as it will be long. But we can all survived and live up to the next bull run.
2906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 07, 2022, 02:32:56 PM
I can't believe the Bucks are going to let DeMarcus Cousins walk away a free agent.  He was playing great for them.  Much better than I expected.  I guess he was just there to fill a roster spot during the covid restrictions.  I'm curious who is going to pick him up now.  Twitter is screaming at the Lakers to waive DeAndre Jordan and sign Cousins, but I don't see why they can't keep both...  Likely Cousins will find a new home somewhere else.  I think Chicago might be a decent home for him if he's still chasing a ring.  Another stint with Golden State might not be a bad idea either.  I'm sure someone will grab him quickly.
Checked the roster of the Chicago Bulls and yes they might want to grab Cousins as fast as they can. They need a center/forward to fill the shoes of Vucevic if they will be up against big men games. Vucevic is averaging 33 minutes per game and as a center that might be an exhausting number.
If they will let Cousins in, they could give him a breather that could strengthen the rotation even on second stringers.
They accept 10 days contract now, if its possible test him for that amount of time and if he performed good then give him a better contract. I don't know if Cousins will accept that kind of offer though.
Cousins is not a superstar anymore, his days of being an all-star player are over, so if he wants to stay in the NBA, he has no option but to take short term contract and prove to the team that he is still worthy to get a longer contract. He can be a great help for the Bulls but his minutes will remain limited, and I hope he will not be easily injured.

Yeah I’m with you hear when it comes to Cousins. I have always been a huge fan of his, but it’s been some time since he was the (in my opinion) most dominating center in the league. As a bulls fan I wouldn’t mind seeing him come back on a short term deal if he can help provide some minutes off the bench to sub in for Cousins.

Cousins has played a lot of teams already, I'm not sure which team he will retire but on his condition now, I believe he can still be helpful to any team he is playing with as long as he is getting minutes. A player whose career is not at its peak will do everything to impress the management, so if he gets sign, it's another opportunity for him to impress the bulls management and let's see if he will be given a longer contract afterwards.
Not sure if he will be a perfect fit for the Bulls, maybe in short term as a back up. But if he started to act again an disrupt the team with his attitude then he might be drop, and I think that is one drawback with Cousins during his prime years and of course his fragile body. So I don't know if he will still be a good contributor to any team, just saying.
2907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 07, 2022, 01:56:40 PM
Only a couple games tonight but I like 2 home teams.

Gimme the KNICKS getting 2 points at home.  Celts are decent but lost 5 in a row on the road and the second game of a back to back.

Then...give me the Pelicans -1 against the Warriors.  Won't say that too often but GS has a ton of guys benched.  Pretty much Wiggins and Poole versus the Pelicans.  Gimme the home team here and an L for the Warriors.

Good luck everyone tonight all!

Good if you got the Pels at -1 mate, because GSW doesn't have answer to Brandon Ingram.

And when we thought that Jordan Poole will step up in the absence of Steph Curry, he just had a measly game. Wiggins lead the way with 21 points but it wasn't enough.

They've tied the game at the end of 3rd or start of the 4th if I'm not mistaken but the Pels scored 6 successive points and that cushion was enough.

wheelz1200 got his 2 bets right, both games are close but what matters is the bet won. Congrats @wheelz1200, that's a perfect prediction, looking forward for some tips on the upcoming games tomorrow. If you have a bulls vs Wizs analysis, I'ld love to read and follow.
Yes, good win indeed, but it was unfortunate for us who believed that Warriors will win even without Steph Curry. And with that lost, it will be their second for this season, and I cant' recall that they have back to back losses? But Klay will be back in their line up, so there's a big expectations that they will remain on top and it will be fun to watch the Warriors again as the core is back.
2908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A quick reminder from Eric Adams, mayor of the City of New York. on: January 07, 2022, 01:29:35 PM
Oh well the bear market has come in early as compare to the last cycle in 2018 wherein it was after the first quarter although the price has been declining since January-March that year.

In any case, for those who have been there before, then we should know what to do (fill our bags with cheap bitcoins and then wait for the next bull run). As for the mayor, maybe what he is saying is true, or perhaps he has seen this as well and probably will buy at the dip.  Smiley
2909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is down on Kazahstan, Bitcoin Hashrate drooped, Price affected? on: January 06, 2022, 04:46:31 PM
Imho the hash rate drop after Kazakhstan internet cut-off is much smaller than expected.
Maybe the traders expected something much bigger (because then the rest of the miners would get much cheaper coins), maybe there's something deeper we are missing.

On the other hand, the fear index was already looking bad and some were probably on the verge of selling. I am almost sure that the Kazakhstan news and the price drop have convinced some more sell.
Is it a bear trap? Are we really in trouble? I don't know. But I expect the current price change not be a good indicator because the liquidity on the markets is low.
Well when the price drops the last time the Chinese government started to ban crypto mining, the hash rate really drop so hard and so is the price and it went for months before we finally saw some bounce back to the hash rate and the price itself.

And maybe prior to the news, the sentiments is really turning into a bearish one and then waking up seeing the price going down hard, there could be some noob investors who suddenly push the sell button because they can't take the heat of seeing their portfolio going down.
2910  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin first week price speculation on: January 06, 2022, 03:59:02 PM
Well, things change. And they do, quickly, without rhyme nor reason, don't they? Posted at the start of the thread that was happy to get some bumper bonus, but actually would have been way better for me to wait to invoice right about now (tomorrow would have been the last day for me to do it).

As always, hindsight is the wisdom we pine for. Of course, with my luck the bounce will take us up and beyond by the time my next invoicing arrives.
Oh well, we all have our plans in the beginning of the year, unfortunately, for majority of us, it's kinda late because the market really turn into sour although I have been saying all along that if we didn't get past $50k at the end of 2021, we will be entering the bear market.

And I would say that you and I may have run out of luck, because it seems that we are in a bear market already as this early as the first week of January and the pattern seems to be broken in 2022.
2911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too much of new crypto projects? on: January 06, 2022, 03:22:51 PM
There are lots of ido platform and they are making idos like crazy. There is a bubble on crypto space it happens when bull happens.

That bubble is filling with greed Smiley And when bear market happens most of that projects die and bubble bursts. It is the cycle of altcoins.
Yeah, I think that is part of the cycle as well, when we have a bull run, there are going to be a new hype that will pop up and everyone will go crazy about it. Just like what you have mentioned, IDO's used to be the crazy ride that everyone wanted to join it.

We can't blame people for being greedy though, it's part of human nature. So it's either going to be a miss (for the majority) and hit (for a few) and that is the big difference in this space.
2912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 06, 2022, 02:48:21 PM
It was a bad lost for the Warriors again as they are now now tied to the first spot in the Western conference, same as the Bucks as well, I thought that two top teams can win and cover the spread and made a parlay and was surprised to see that they've lost or at least behind the scores in the 3rd quarter when I wake up. Anyhow, I think the Warriors are going to bounce back against NOP so -3.5 for the Warriors.
The Warriors accept it or not is just like a normal team when they played on the road, and that's what happened to them in this game. And Luka had almost a triple double in this game, and luckily Brunson become consistent. But yes, it will be another road game for them, but it's possible that they can cover that -3.5 against a struggling Pelicans.
2913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 06, 2022, 01:57:49 PM
I thought that Dillon Brooks has played in their last game but I must be wrong.
He hasn't played yet but I think he will be available in the next game and I'm excited to see what he can bring again. Dillon Brooks was part of the major success of the Grizzlies last playoffs, and this season, I believe they are really a real contender to win the WCF now that some teams are struggling.
I do agree, Brooks was a major part of Memphis torrid rise to he playoffs last year, and for me Brooks is known for his defense, but in the last year's playoff he was a perfect complement to Ja Morant in the offensive floor and become a headache for other teams to match because he is too quick. So just imagine if he comes back and contribute to Memphis just like what he did last year.
2914  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Excessive hold time on: January 06, 2022, 01:24:17 PM
Do you just have to file a grievance with the bank to get your money back out of these guys? I understand they want to hold the money until it clears the bank, but then 21 days of no access to your money after it clears seems criminal and apparently it is according the the bank. I'd like to hold and use someone's money for 3 weeks too, I guess thats why it is illegal.
And where you are going to file your grievances against a certain bank? I think you are going to lose very easily because that is their policy though? And that is really the worst case here, banks hostage your money for 21 days. And this is the very reason why many people are really moving into crypto because of the "Be your own bank" nature of it. So I guess your only choice is to wait for 3 weeks and borrow someone money with interest.
2915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 06, 2022, 01:01:33 PM
What a soap opera this is turning out to be - and actually all the proof you need on how sick of a society we are.
Among all the problems the world is facing, people unite in hating a tennis player that simply asked to play on a tennis tournament that is important to his career.

I didn't like him before, I won't start liking him now but I really wish him a great season after all of this. I don't see any chance of him playing there now.
I think it's not just about people uniting in hating Djokovic, it's not about that issue.

It's more of how the Australian government taking care of the issue here, they've said it already, no vax, no entry simply as that and no exceptions.

And maybe this is the very reason why tennis fans started to question their decision then on allowing Djokovic to play in their own soil. Anyhow, they try to rectify everything, but I doubt that everything will be forgotten on how they handle the Djokovic case.
2916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 05, 2022, 05:58:36 PM
11 games later. Wow.
My first pick will be for Dallas Mavericks versus the Golden State Warriors - Warriors -5.5. Also looking forward to a high scoring game @Over 213.5.
Kristaps Porzingis at health and safety protocol, so it's up to Doncic now and Hardaway Jr.
For sure this will be another great game, wondering who is going to cover Luka, maybe Wiggins in the beginning. And yeah, it could be high scoring game specially if Warriors could hit their shots already. But in the end, I think the Warriors will win and cover that -5.5 with some extra.

Milwaukee Bucks versus Toronto Raptors - Bucks -7.5 They had been defeated by the Pistons even with a strong line-up yesterday that broke the ought to be 7th winning streak. They will be hungry to get back on the winning side.
Yeah, it was a big upset last time with the Pistons shocks the Bucks in their homecourt. Only Holiday really play that good, Middleton and Giannis have so-so performance. So for sure they will want to bounce back. But Raptors seems to found their groove with VanFleet.
2917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 05, 2022, 05:29:45 PM
Russell might win but it won't be easy especially against an opponent who is willing to give everything he had for this championship fight. I love how Filipino boxers fight, they are so aggressive and hungry to win a championship, in this fight, I'm expecting that will happen and of course upset is what I am hoping to see as I'll certainly take that 4.00 odds.
And I agree, I think we all understand that Russell is the best boxer out of the two, but we also know that style makes fights and an opponent that on paper seems like it is weaker can beat another boxer that was better because of this, also the circumstances of the fight can vary greatly and as such Magsayo has a chance to get the victory here, and if someone is willing to take those odds I think they will be taking the right decision as the odds for a bet for Russell to win are not attractive.
In any sports, upsets do really happen specially if the favourite will underestimate his opponent. And we all know that Filipinos shouldn't be taken lightly as they can really pull that upset. As you have said, Magsayo is a great fighter in his own right and has this Filipino pride and heart just like the legendary Manny Pacquiao. So that is a good odds already and it won't take anything from us if we bet on Magsayo for even a couple of sats as underdog.
2918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 05, 2022, 02:37:17 PM
^^ So the Djokovic drama is still not over yet?

And we are not sure if he is going to play or not? Is the government willing to give him the exceptions but they gets a lot of backlash?

And I think everyone here is even torn between wanting to see Djokovic compete but at the same time we also need it to be fair whether you are top 1 or top 100.
2919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 04, 2022, 03:19:06 PM
How about Memphis vs Cavs tomorrow? I mean Memphis is riding a 5 game winning streak, while the Cavs used to be hot, but when they've lost Rubio, the team suddenly became shitty.

ML for them is 2.x and the handicap is 1.94 currently. So I think betting for them is a good risk with those good odds.
Why not? as you have said, Memphis is really playing very good basketball with Ja Morant giving us good numbers and he could be a MVP candidate with those great numbers.

And Cavaliers is on a one game lose and it could extend because they are going to miss the services of Rubio for the entire season because of that unfortunate injury.
2920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 19, 2022 on: January 04, 2022, 04:20:08 AM
And the best gauge is to really see the two in the square ring. Ioka did his share with a tough win, so Jerwin should do the same against Martinez. And we just hope that there will be no derailing of the fight and no upset from Martinez.

That's correct, and I think Ancajas here has a tougher opponent and if he beats his opponent then I'll completely be confident that they will beat Ioka as well. No one could really tell what will happen in this fight, the outcome could be different from our expectation but I believe that even if Ancajas will lose, he can still get an opportunity to look for big fights.
Right, he has a tougher opponent in Martinez which is also undefeated and we never heard about him. And that makes him dangerous as maybe Ancajas may have a difficult time adjusting to Martinez style, although I haven't check if there is a fight of him in Youtube that team Ancajas can review and see his stance and style. So they really need to step up and train hard for this one and never underestimate any opponent even if you are the favorite to win the fight.
