The only reason I see why bitcoin will not work as the ultimate currency used by all is simple:
When all the bitcoins are minded there is no possible to way to get any more, nobody will want to spend anything because it will ultimately be the most valuable thing, and besides how the hell do you handle a deficit or surplus when everything is being done in the same currency and nobody can make more of it.
Ultimately we come back to the gold standard that had the same exact problems and blew up. The only thing i can envision for bitcoin in the future is to make online trading more efficient, but seriously there would have to be an unlimited number of bitcoins to solve the golden standard problem.

It becomes obvious you are one of the big pre-miners

It's becoming more and more obvious to everyone that you have no clue what you're talking about. I'm going to quit responding to you since you obviously just make random statements without any supporting facts. I've bought 95% of my coins on Cryptsy.
2903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If You Had $100 to invest in one Alt-Coin, Which one and Why? on: November 19, 2013, 02:57:56 AM

One simple question, why is it better than all the other altcoins, and when do you predict it will reach $1?

This is an excellent question. A lot of these altcoins are missing people with real-life business experience. I've been running companies since the early 1990's and understand the importance of building a solid foundation and united team.

Before becoming fully involved in this coin I did some market research and discovered that of all the altcoins in existence people prefer the name Goldcoin over any other hands down. Even though the coin had a checkered past I decided it was worth rescuing because of the fact that the word "Gold" means "value" to every single human being on earth.

Then through a series of synchronicities other people with big dreams and unique talents starting showing up. I'm sure some of it is luck (or favorable planetary alignment) but we now have managed to build the greatest community in all of cryptocurrency and a stellar group of software engineers to man the development team. Our new 51% attack defense is something not yet available even in Bitcoin. And we aren't resting on our laurels, we're still building and still innovating.

Once people realize there's more than one make and model of automobile capital will begin flowing into the other automakers. Bitcoin POS hardware will be updated to accept multiple coins and consumer demand will catapult the most competitive altcoins into the stratosphere. We at Goldcoin are determined to compete at the highest levels, to dream big, and to continue working hard.

Plus I get to drink a beer when we reach a dollar in case you don't know that part of the story.  Smiley

If You Had $100 to invest in one Alt-Coin for maximum profit later on, which one would you pick and why? Which Alt-Coin, that isnt even at a tenth of a cent, will possibly go to $1?

The answer is clearly... Goldcoin!

Over the past few months we've managed to assemble a fantastic community and talented development team at Goldcoin.

Although we're well above a 1/10 of a cent I think it's still early in the coin's evolution. Today we reached a milestone and momentarily reached #15 in overall market capitalization (http://coinmarketcap.com/). We have an Android app on Google Play, a paper wallet in beta and an innovative 51% attack defense second to none.

Our forum membership has grown by over 200% in the past 3 weeks. And we're the first coin ever to be featured in dual pairs on Cryptsy. Our long-term goal is to reach the #1 position and overtake Bitcoin in marketcap.

Sure some may think this is impossible, but I believe in shooting for the stars. Why not!  Cheesy  Grin  Cheesy

2907  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Why so much indian hate in my country? on: November 18, 2013, 03:08:24 PM

I live in the states. and it's the midwest, south crowd that have negative sterotypes for indians

Aware me on this?

I think it depends on person. The person that has negative stereotype can't help their own ignorance. There are ignorant people and also enlightened people in all the Countries. Maybe you find a hippie community in your area and see what I mean.

But as I said, it's rising too quick, same as when the west discovered bitcoin in 2011 causing the first bubble.

I think you are correct in saying this is bubble.

2910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining for alt coins? on: November 18, 2013, 02:04:58 PM

Hello all!
Any suggestion what to mine with GPU Radeon 7470M ? I know it wont be a big profit, but i can do this while at work and use the electricity of the office for free. I want to mine something doesnt matter solo or in a pool and to get numbers of coins. It doesnt matter for me how much a single coin cost now, i am looking for quantity and to hope and wait if the price of this particular coin will rise...Thank you! Any suggestions are welcome, i am sure there is a lot of people like me in that moment. Thank you

This is a good idea and strategy. My suggestion would be to not only mine the coin you think will increase in value over time, but to mine the coin AND support the community and contribute to the coin. I think altcoins should be a team sport and that the coin with the best team will win!

There's something you seem to have missed in regards to the way the digital currency revolution is unfolding. Bitcoin is only the very very beginning.

Once people realize there's more than one make and model of automobile capital will begin flowing into the other automakers. Bitcoin POS hardware will be updated to accept multiple coins and consumer demand will catapult the most competitive altcoins into the stratosphere.
2912  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do you think BTC price is increasing so fast? on: November 18, 2013, 05:51:18 AM
i think china is a big part of it. they do have the largest population. i hear BTC china is now the largest exchange too.

i think BIG money might have something to do with it too. BTC got the attention of people with deep pockets. i wonder if they are manipulating the market.

It's because the public has not caught on to the emerging altcoin movement.

Once people realize there's more than one make and model of automobile capital will begin flowing into the other automakers. Bitcoin POS hardware will be updated to accept multiple coins and consumer demand will catapult the most competitive altcoins into the stratosphere.

So, are your thoughts on this? I know this is new to everyone but what do you feel? Thanks.

I think we're headed for a sharp correction in the coming days.

2914  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Four Phases of Bitcoin Growth on: November 18, 2013, 05:42:17 AM
The one major factor you seemed to have completely overlooked is the inevitable emergence of the altcoins.

Once people realize there's more than one make and model of automobile capital will begin flowing into the other automakers. Bitcoin POS hardware will be updated to accept multiple coins and consumer demand will catapult the most competitive altcoins into the stratosphere.

Hmmm.. I think GLD will be trampled by the real contenders soon. Consumers will want something innovative.

Well. I guess our Android app, paper wallet, and innovative 51% attack defense is chopped liver.  Tongue
2918  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'd like to announce I now have 20$ worth of bitcoin on: November 17, 2013, 09:46:31 PM
Holy crap. My 20 dollars can get me one of those ASIC USB miners off of Ebay. Can those mine LTC? I doubt it would make a dent in mining for BTC.

Thoughts?

If you want to get more BTC just use a GPU and mine profitable scrypt coins as listed here: http://coinchoose.com/index.php

Then sell the coins you mine and buy BTC.
2919  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you really believe in bitcoin as a currency? on: November 17, 2013, 09:41:47 PM
Do you really believe in bitcoin as a currency?

Absolutely!

And I think Bitcoin is just the beginning! What we'll see next is a recognition by consumers that alternatives exist, then a demand for these alternatives, then an integration of these alternatives into the existing Bitcoin merchant POS systems. Like Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, people will use different coin payment methods via a common POS device.

As this process evolves, capital will begin spilling over into the altcoin sector and a healthy competition will develop between currencies.
