He is a low post count member that frankly lured me right into an easy scam. I recognize that I completely overlooked a bunch of red flags and could have done any number of things to avoid this problem. He directed me to use escrow through a site called sell-bitcoins.com which was clearly a hoax, but I went for it.

So, please learn from my mistakes. When doing OTC trades, PLEASE PLEASE:
1. Trade with TRUSTED members.
2. Get onto IRC #bitcoin-otc and ASK QUESTIONS! If you have any doubt in your mind whatsoever on a trade, the good people there will help you!
3. Only trade with authenticated members.
4. Get opinions on REAL and trusted escrow sites if you are going to use escrow. Don't simply trust the word of who you are doing business with that an escrow site is legit, ask other people, they know!
5. Trade large amounts in multiple smaller increments, your money's security is worth the added time.

Don't tell me, you, from all persons, don't fancy yourself some dong?

Sweetheart, I hate to break it to you, but VPN is already a thing.  If privacy is the only upside to everything already existing being repackaged into a pyramid, you're not making it look very lucrative.

Tell you what.  I'll strike you a deal.  Provide all of this for free, for everyone, lose the foundation members, lose membership period.  Ask for donations without requiring donations (justify it as you please, it is a fee)  Hire a web designer, create an elegant website, state clearly what you're doing and how you're going to do it (I'm talking about technical details, not 'Oh, first we're going through this phase, and then this phase')  Then I will take back everything I said and consider BitBillions something more than a get-rich-quick scheme.

But it won't happen.  The name itself is just all wrong.  What you're trying to promote is not new technology, else your name would be, I dunno, BitCloud, or something.  If you weren't trying to run a ponzi, and instead trying to create a wonderful, new thing, you wouldn't have money on your mind.  This is not how people normally operate.  We, human beings, do not create with the expectancy of payment (and anyone who says they do hasn't created anything worth mentioning.)  Your intentions are transparent and your greed is overwhelming.

Have you tried Ubuntu, et al. it's free to replace all of those...

In the past 5 days I've just gotten into Bitcoin mining with my HD7970 using the latest version of Guiminer, I figured I'd have it run when I'm not using my computer. The maximum temperature of the card never went above 80, and I kept it at 65-70 (it's nice and cool where I am so it was easy to keep my computer cool)

Tonight, however, something unexpected happened: pretty much instantly after I hit "Start Mining" on Guiminer, my computer restarted itself and it can't see my 7970 anymore. I'm stuck using my integrated card, and would love to know if I didn't permanently fuck up my card, however I'm prepared to hear the worst

Does anyone know what happened here?

The key could be a PGP armored printout, or whatever the equivalent is in bitcoinland.

Whoever handled it could not use the numbers.
