I carefully read the OP in its entirety, anyone else find it weird that the Auction end day is June 19th?

Have you folks seen this yet? A rather thorough inventory of each Casascius coin by variety, mintage, redeemed, and active --> http://www.spotcoins.com/bitcoin/casasciusIt's on a few other threads but some of you may not be aware yet. It was created and shared with me by forum member Melbustus. Hopefully more accurate information (from this analysis and Elianite's analysis) will make the market for these coins more efficient.

"1.0 BTC Brass, Series 2......TOTAL ACTIVE = 434" http://www.spotcoins.com/bitcoin/casasciusThis makes the 2011 S2 Brass extremely rare!!! My 2011 S2 Brass are funded in 2011 and I am the ONLY one I know that has a graded MS-65 for sale. According to Eliante's www.coinfirm.org the highest known grade for this coin is a MS-64 ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) OPEN TO OFFERS!!!! Hey, good work, you found my source! I think the creator of the spotcoins source is also working to validate his numbers as they differ some from Elianite's. Between the two we should all have a good listing the real mintage counts across all Casascius coin varieties. Good luck with your sale.

Truly amazing coins! I just wanted to give a shout-out that I have just released a complete eBook guide on Casascius coins, that is yours for free at www.coinfirm.orgenjoy! Great document, great work! Quick question, if I'm reading your notes correctly if a 2011 1 BTC coin was funded in 2012 you're counting that as a 2012 1 BTC coin? I'm referring to the "*Numbers refer to..." note on page 7 of the PDF. Thanks!

TitanBTC, I just saw your ad on a free doge coin site at http://freedog.co.in/?r-411000, it looks slick! It's a perfect ad placement on the mobile app view I saw it on and the picture definitely makes it look like "the premiere" bitcoin physical storage option. Well done!

There's definitely a difference between rarity and desirability. Desirability isn't always correlated with rarity, but rarity is often correlated with desirability.
I can't let this go. If A is correlated with B, then B is correlated with A, by definition. What I think you meant to write was that desirability isn't always caused by rarity and rarity is often caused by desirability. Correlation is not the same as causation. Ah, great point. Thanks for calling me out on that and you're almost right about what I meant to say: Desirability isn't always positively correlated with rarity, but rarity is often positively correlated with desirability. I believe the more rare versions of these coins will be more desirable years from now. BUT, it's not the same as having the first coin minted by a country or currency type because so many people are already hoarding these coins as collectibles. Unless we see a lot of redemption over the years these coins will not become more rare than they are today, which will impact the secondary market.

So why do you think people should trust you enough to send Bitcoin to you?
A member for 2 weeks, zero trade history or trust feedback.
Trust always starts at zero history. As a new member of the community I'm offering my service and support. I'd be happy offer other personal information to provide a sufficient level of trust, security or recourse to the seller and prospective buyer(s). And after all this dialogue, if I screwed something up I'd ruin my opportunity to engage with you all going forward. Are you asking as a prospective buyer? Let's stop hijacking this thread with unwarranted attacks toward my offer of community service.

No offense Possum577 but for Escrow I would opt for Yankee (BitInstant) every time.
He has a long history on the site and has already completed several Escrow transactions without issue.
Kinda of catch 22 for you, no one will use you due to lack of Escrow History, but you wont get the Escrow history unless someone uses you.
Ha, this isn't about me vs. Yankee. This is about two people trying to make a deal and a third, objective unbiased person offering to facilitate the terms of that deal...however they decide on those terms. How do you think Yankee started offering escrow services? At some point he offered to serve as escrow and someone accepted and then he had done it once. I'm trying only to do the same thing. It's a good thing the early success of Bitcoin and alt-currency wasn't dependent on the opinion of you, Yankee, or Blazed, otherwise you may have made a quick dismissal of the idea based on the assumption that Bitcoin didn't "have a long history" as a currency.

I can serve as escrow on this one, if needed.
You are a little bit too new to act as an escrow... I disagree. How much experience do you think is required to hold money? I have a secure account to receive and send bitcoin, i'm an objective party to the transaction, I accept tips for service, and I need to earn some trust among you mooks! Blazed, It's funny when the person that says "You're not qualified" just so happens to be someone who likely would want to take my spot! Your approach is more shaded with alternative motivation than mine is for sure. When you're either the buyer or the seller your opinion on this will be truly relevant, in absence of either of those roles you're just wasting everyone's time. To the OP, I'd be happy to offer escrow services...

Permission given to use and reproduce freely. What good are these charts without rationale, data, sources? Why do I care about these charts?

One other thought, since you've been bumping this thread due to no responses, you should consider offering payment options other than BTC, that is if you are really motivated to sell them. If you restrict payment to BTC you'll eliminate potential buyers that are not Bitcoin holders, but rather interested in the numismatic value.

The seller has added BTC to it or is this a 5BTC coin?

I think you'd be best sitting on this for a few years and then present it to the community not as a sale but as a very unique error. Let the community view it, consider it, critique it without the additional context of the sale. You might get a more honest set of opinions and eventually as people know that this coin exists the consensus will build.
If you take on a "road show" allowing people to see and comment on it in the forum you'll end up building up any error value that exists already.

It's amazing people are stilling willing to buy these, literally, "sight unseen". These high prices are based on good quality coins (not simply because they're funded). These blurry and faraway pictures are perfect to hide scratches, wear, and the visible signs of circulation.
You all have more faith than I do.
Fortunately, some of us have been around here for a few years, make thousands of posts with substance, and conduct dozens of flawless transactions to build trust ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) This turns faith into a belief. But yes, the camera is horrible. Yeah, don't confuse me sharing my (unsolicited) opinion as a reflection on you. I see you have high activity and a trust rating and clearly you haven't had problems describing accurately what you've sold (hence the positive trust rating). I'm new to the community so my trust in everyone is low (as should be yours of me.)
