Cool. Thank You all.

So if I keep it constant at about 80-90C it's still more than adequate.
Very nice.  Wink

Off-question, but what are the 'safe' temperatures of the SP20?

When looking at the Asic stats page, LOOP3 is always the hottest, even if I set the max power supply watts lower than the others. (At 150 now).

Seems to like to climb to 80C. The others are in the 50's and 60s.

Thanks

I dunno. I think the sp20s are a pretty harsh competition for the s5s and blow them away IMO.
And no longer for sale, ergo technically not competition in terms of sales.
At all? Crap.

They're mine! Nyah Nyah!  Wink Grin

Sorry. It's late and I'm tired.
2926  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Miner info Excel Spreadsheet. on: March 11, 2015, 04:24:07 AM
Thought I'd give back to the helpful people I have 'met' while starting to get into Bitcoin Mining.

I made up this Excel Spreadsheet (2007 and newer, sorry), which can keep track of your Miners, voltages, underclocks, overclocking, efficiency, total hashes, wattage use, etc..etc..

It kind of simple, but thought it might help others. Use and enjoy.

I'm also attaching an image with some basic info about it.

Link for Excel Spreadsheet : http://www.ctgt.us/test/Miners-Blank.xlsx

It's hosted on my Site, so you can download directly if need be.

You can use it, modify it, just don't shamelessly charge for it for others.  Cheesy

Hope it helps others as it does me.
2927  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 11, 2015, 04:01:53 AM

hence the "[relatively speaking]". Assuming you use a switch, running 4x SP20 with 2x 1200W PSUs means a total: 6 miners, 5 ethernet cables, 4+2 power cords, a dozen PCIe cables, etc.

its not a big mess, but its a lot more than a single box with 1 ethernet, 2 power cords. And you can probably find it for cheaper than buying four SP20 units

Well, yeah If you're talking about clutter, yes it is much cleaner to run one big machine

If properly done, 4 smaller machines though can be made neat and tidy.

I have not heard the SP3x in person, but I'm running all my SP20's at 10-20% max at around 1250-1270GH/s using 700-725Watts each. Far from quiet like the Antminer S3's I'm using on the same power supply with the SP20's (EVGA Supernova 1300) and in my small office I can watch tv. Same sound as a small business server.

Don't get me wrong. If I see a good deal on an SP3x, I'm jumping on it. I have GAS.. Gear Acquisition Syndrome, big time!! Started 10 days ago and I'm up to my neck in miners and equipment. ROFL.  Cheesy
2928  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] KNC Neptune on: March 11, 2015, 01:00:34 AM

Try ebay. It's flooded with these things now.

I had no idea they made so many or everybody is trying to ditch it.

See this thread.

People can't GIVE these things away.

It's their market value, And even at this price point I'd prefer a Bitmain or Spondoolies alternative.

Ditto.
2929  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 11, 2015, 12:59:03 AM
So will Spondoolies not be releasing a new home miner for quite a while? I guess we are stuck with Bitmain and their price gouging? I would love to buy something larger like the SP31, but do not have the electrical setup for that. I really do not like how Bitmain jacked up prices and added in pre orders. SP please save us!!

SP31s aren't too bad in a home setting if you underclock them. Underclocking is a good idea anyway because of the efficiency gains. You can get about 4 TH/s on 2.1 kW. Reducing the power consumption lets you drop the fan speeds substantially, which reduces the noise that they generate.

+1. at that sort of power level the SP3x is actually a reasonable volume and the efficiency/hashrate you get from a single box is far superior to the [relatively speaking] IT nightmare of running 4 Sp20 units at a similar spec.

What IT nightmare? Using a switch to separate Network connection?
Or are you talking about the need for 4 power supplies?
4x Sp20's running at 525Watts get about 1050GH/s +- 5% or less. Totals 4.2TH/s, with the ability to turn up the power for a total of an easy 6TH/s-7TH/s at below full blast.

I think they are both pretty good ventures if the space and budget allows. I like the density of the SP20 more though as it's easier to put in tight places or stack them without looking like a data center.

Either way, I am very impressed by Spondoolies miners vs. my Antminers before. The Interface, speed of system, options, easy of underclocking/volting, pool selection, etc..

ps.. I saw somewhere that someone recommended to remove the top metal for 'better cooling'. I suggest not. I guarantee it will increase your temps. The 'box' is designed to channel the high speed / pressure of the air for cooling. Making a huge gap on the top will totally negate this.

2931  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 10, 2015, 08:59:11 PM
These are great machines. I just got my SP20E down to 1160GH/595W. That's 0.5172 Efficiency. Wooha!
2932  Bitcoin / Hardware / Spondoolies SP20 with MultiMiner software? on: March 10, 2015, 08:36:19 PM
Multiminer sees the networked Antminer S3's I have, but not the SP20's.
Is that normal? Anyone got theirs to work with MultiMiner?

Thanks

2935  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] last SP20e (Spondoolies) with free shipping to US, new price on: March 10, 2015, 03:47:27 AM

two were initial number, one was sold, it says the LAST of two two.
I think that it is pretty clear no anybody.

if it were clear, I wouldn't be offering.

Clear would be :

"..The LAST one of two ..."

I'm no english teacher, but have stayed at the Holiday inn for a few nights.  Wink

you did not have this question when you offered me X for ONE beforehand, so maybe that stay did wonders indeed.
i am coming off a pretty good stay in a hotel myself, so i dig that.

Thou thost not understandeth sarcasm-eth..

A simple.. 'Thankest thou' would have sufficeth.

2937  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] last SP20e (Spondoolies) with free shipping to US, new price on: March 10, 2015, 03:26:14 AM
Sale resumed: the last of two two great SP20E machines that were for most time downclocked, but tested at regular speed.
Price: 2 BTC, shipped to US (at a discount to the prevalent ebay price of $620-735). Can ship to Canada with everything over $20 in shipment cost added (as extra).
Machines were stationed in an air conditioned environment.

Since SP20 is now discontinued, I consider it a vintage or possibly collection product with the price exceeding the final SPT price ($479+shipping) when bitcoin was 35% lower.

S5 is $466 shipped, available only on March 30, twenty days away.
As a result, todays fair value of S5 is ~$505 and SP20e is at least 20% higher due to its unavailability, higher speed (at least 1.5TH is easily achievable, maybe up to 1.6-1.65TH), ease of customization, etc.

So you're selling two SP20E's for 2Bitcoins?
I'll take them.

it says: the last Sp20e (means one) for 2BTC

Wait.. Your listing says "...the last of two great SP20E machines......"

You even spell out two. Not one..

2939  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Diff thread Mar 8 to Mar 22. on: March 10, 2015, 03:10:41 AM
at seriouscoin   my pick is -1.11%   but contest rules call for a range

so  the range is -1.01 to -1.25%

because  I love you man I will give you the btc on the entire range except for -1.11%

So if you see -1.01 to -1.10   or -1.12 to -1.25%

I would win the 0.10 btc and

I philipma1957 will give you MR. serious (fucking) coin AKA seriouscoin the prize money I would have taken.

How is that for taking you seriously?

of course if it comes -1.11%  I will keep it and buy a nice bottle of cab and drink a toast to you.

and if it fall outside the -1.01 to -1.25% range this post will be but a passing moment  of reading for those that  have some fun on

bitcointalk.

If it hits exactly -1.11% I say we all chip in a little bit and send you a nice bottle of wine.  Wink

Poor little orphans, someone should find them a wallet to call home.   Grin

So what's an orphan anyways?
