Its a peer to peer decentralized crypto currency.  Cash is cash.  You can't send cash instantly around the world over the wire.
2922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recurring Payments with BTCs on: August 08, 2012, 01:39:25 AM
Good point. That why gym's and other dues/subscriptions business with mandatory bank or credit card payments are so lucrative.  There model plan for something like 85% of users to only use the facilities 20% of the time, yet the the contracted revenue stream continues.  However with bitcoin you would have to remind the user to pay each month and if they were no longer using the service they just stop paying the monthly fee.

2924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recurring Payments with BTCs on: August 07, 2012, 10:22:52 PM
With credit cards the card issuer gives the card holder credit that can be draw down on.  So when a recurring payment hits the authorized card the acquirer receives the funds with that nights batch and the card holder has to pay with in the card terms.  With bitcoin you'd probably have to generate and email your clients a new bitcoin address with each payment in advance of the cut off date then monitor that address for timely payment.
2925  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling PayPal USD/GBP in return for BTC on: August 07, 2012, 07:51:53 PM
There doesn't seem to be very many places that offer you PayPal Funds for BTC, so i'll go ahead and offer it.

The current rate is 1BTC/$8 PayPal (If you give me 1BTC, I'll give you $8 through PayPal)

All payments will be sent from my verified PayPal account as gift (So I cannot chargeback)

The maximum I can offer at the moment is up to 10BTC however as more people buy, that will go up.

If your intrested, please post below or send me a PM and we can arrange something.

Just FYI

Paypal can and will charge back gifts - verified or not.  Just ask any of these guys:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83679.msg1084399#msg1084399

Also if paypal sees an account receive too many gift payments without fees it will be flagged.
2926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep your Bitcoins on an exchange? on: August 07, 2012, 07:43:43 PM
I do keep a not insignificant amount of both cash and coins on several exchanges, thought not in an amount large enough that it would be disruptive to my business and/or my way of life if any of the exchanges were to disappear.  I did remove ALL funds Intersango recently in anticipation of that exchange going down in the wake of Bitcoinica.

2928  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Life after Bitcoinica,,, as a creditor. on: August 07, 2012, 06:23:02 PM
I've seen a few members mention amounts tied up in Bitcoinica.  Is there a thread or list of full amounts posted somewhere?
2929  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pywallet: manage your wallets/addresses/keys/tx's on: August 07, 2012, 05:03:05 PM
Just down loaded pywallet for Win7 64 Bit.

Install and and set up went fine.

Opened web console and dumped wallet.

I can see all the public keys and transactions etc but I don't see any corresponding Private keys?

What is the json key value of of the privatekey.

If i use the tx_k value under  "Get some info about one key and sign/verify messages:" I get

"Error in info page"  under Regular, base 58 and
"Hexadecimal private keys must be 64 characters long" under  Hexadecimal, 64 characters long

Thanks!

u283207.sendgrid.org is the uniquie bitcoinary USERID for tracking bounces etc.  However as you mention that is a problem.  Maybe bitcoinary should mention this.
2931  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoinary.com - The new smart way to buy and sell Bitcoins. on: August 07, 2012, 03:48:16 PM
Sad sendgrid.com? Really? What do you need them for? To monitor if the messages reached me? I get a scam alert for presenting me a <a href=A>B</a> kind of link.

sendgrid.com is a developer friendly, trusted, third party, transactional email service provider.  They've send over 50 Billion email for some major web providers.  With their library and about 4 lines of code your web application is set up to send emails and they handle all the spam filtering, deliverability issues, isp, and ip monitoring, and bounce processing.  Check them out. http://sendgrid.com/.

That href is probably the default unsubscribe link.

Mark

Is there a us branch or subsidiary of Sumitomo Bank that can be used to deposit USD to your account without the fees?

Thanks.
2933  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: TheBitMint - Buy Bitcoins With PayPal on: August 07, 2012, 02:14:12 PM
My goal has always been for all of the creditors to be repaid in the most civil fashion possible.  If TheBitMan has finally seen the light, and will finally make a commitment to repay, I'm glad to wait.  I'm also glad to subordinate my debt to others who obviously need it more then I do right now.  And I'd glad to let D&C choose how to subordinate my shares.

However if timely payments are not continued (we should decide what constitutes timely payments) the next steps would be:
1.  Contact the parent/guardian and inform of our intent to file a small claim and if no response or not effort to may repayment,
2.  File the small clalim.

Even without RandomQ the small claim would represent more then  1/2 of the funds owed.
2934  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: TheBitMint - Buy Bitcoins With PayPal on: August 07, 2012, 03:13:11 AM
Anyone who did business with TheBitMan knows his real name.  And that name seems to be only connected to an individual who graduated from Community College in 2009.  So I highly doubt we are dealing with a minor.

This is the problem with youth today.  They just don't want to except responsibility.  How convenient that once he got to a place where a reasonable payment plan relative  to funds available to him and he could not make any more excuses  he just  signs off to goes to bed.   He has no intention of paying this dept.

I also was on the phone with Paypal tonight.  His account is unverified and paypal claims he's made no effort to try to verify his account and as far as they are concerned these are all fraudulent payment and there will no funds released until he follow through with their requests with he as already admitted several time in this thread he is not able to do (taxes and invoices).

Any one else who would like to be party to the claim please PM you paypal charge backs with transaction numbers.  It really doesn't make any sense (to me) to wait any longer.

2936  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: TheBitMint - Buy Bitcoins With PayPal on: August 07, 2012, 01:52:39 AM
