2921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinfoundation.org - Is it worth joining? on: January 22, 2013, 09:19:30 PM
I believe that paying Gavin, so he can focus 100% on Bitcoin, is a good investment. That's why I support the foundation.

If Gavin disappeared, the foundation would probably have paid an other developer who was taking over his job. But I'm very happy that Gavin is the leader of the development group now.

What if there is no other developer that can take over. What if Gavin isn't expendable, and that no other developer can take control of the codebase, well then sir welcome to non-decentralized currency and we are lying to everyone that uses bitcoin-qt/bitcoind.
2922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinfoundation.org - Is it worth joining? on: January 22, 2013, 08:18:17 PM
Regarding A: So if Gavin did buy lots of coins and is currently a millionaire, he doesn't deserve a salary for all the work he's doing? And why should he divulge how many coins he has?

Regarding B: Everyone wants more money. I do, you do, Gavin does. There is nothing wrong with that. Gavin's work has been instrumental, and he deserves a salary after working pro-bono for years. Other devs do as well. All the more reason to support the Foundation.

Well now is bitcoin just money to him, I think he is in a weird position were, the amount of money for bitcoin protocol shouldn't matter at all. I think once your in a foundation, your working on open source software and you need a salary is going against what the protocol should be. There no reason he can't make money on the side like he did, but if your working on the bitcoin protocol you should be doing it for nothing, or everyone gets paid the same, none of this one person gets a salary. Also if your a millionaire your not going to take a salary. This is a revolution idea and being a driving force should be good enough for him.

C) Gavin is a necessary part of the core Bitcoin development team, and doesn't want to work for free.

Then we all have failed, there shouldn't be one person that is "Necessary" to the development team, while Gavin has brought a lot to the table and helped moved us farther in the software, he should be expendable just like anyone else. This is kinda border line breaking a core value of a decentralized currency, if one person is "Necessary" to the development team. I really hope one day someone will build a full node to compete with bitcoin-qt but until then we are in this horrible postion according to software.
2923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinfoundation.org - Is it worth joining? on: January 22, 2013, 07:43:59 PM
The fact that the Foundation pays Gavin a salary now is reason enough to join as a member.

This is another reason I will not join. Your telling me Gavin needs a salary which tells me two scenarios

A) Gavin didn't believe in bitcoin so he never invested his money which at is time could have made him a millionaire, which would mean he doesn't need a salary.

B) Gavin is super greedy and wants a salary which really should go to all those developers equality that work hard not just him.
2924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Desktop Bitcoin client implemented as local webpage? on: January 22, 2013, 10:05:31 AM
The normal bitcoin client isn't such a fantastic tool for regular users (read: totally normal users).

Wouldn't it be possible to build an instawallet type service that sat directly on the users main computer? What would be the advantages/disadvantages of this? Obviously you would still need bitcoin running, much like Armory, but would it pave the way for people to develop skins, different layouts, more convenient interfaces? Or would it just be an additional security nightmare?

Well you would need apache and php to do that. I mean someone could write a java/python program that didn't require that and already had a server embed, but i don't know sounds actually harder.
2925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinfoundation.org - Is it worth joining? on: January 22, 2013, 12:46:50 AM
Your paying for some big bitcoin businesses to have more power then they need too with no checks or balances to there power. Also it isn't that big only ~250 ppl considering this forum is over 70k. Also you have to sign up with your real name which means they are destroying a main value of bitcoin being the anonymous
2926  Other / Off-topic / Re: Matthew N. Wright friend or foe on: January 20, 2013, 07:36:49 AM
I am going to say this, I believe Matthew made a bad taste in a "joke" with the pirate bet. And both Matthew and goat have fling the underage porn thing, which kinda cancelled out. But just cause he knew a girl that models and she would take pictures for bitcoins, nothing that bad really. I mean we have all had that hot girl that you kinda tramp around. Maybe that was his version.

I think the dude has an entrepreneurial spirit, that we need more of in this community, so we shouldn't cast him away in exile. BUT we shouldn't welcome him back with open arms I think he really needs to prove it, and just show us, he is back at that level.

Also maybe one of the mods could manage a "bet" fund, and all or half of the profits from these new ventures can be put there to be disturbed to those people.
2927  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin 410 richest addresses, updated often. on: January 20, 2013, 01:52:56 AM
Well, instead of trolling, can anyone come up with a better estimation method than what StarenseN proposed?

It is impossible so it isn't trolling when your proving that something is impossible.
2928  Economy / Lending / Re: loan me 2 [btc] ill give you documents on: January 19, 2013, 09:08:11 PM
I loaned him the coins, very friendly person, everything seems legit to me. I will post after he paid me back.

Well you just lost 2 btcs LMAO I doubt he will pay back
2929  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: January 19, 2013, 04:39:19 AM
You are right, you obviously know the facts about MY situation better than I do.  So clearly when you make a dumb assumption and I say it is wrong, that means I am mistaken about my own situation.  It's absolutely amazing how incredibly gifted you are...  Get real dude.

Keep kissing BTCjam's ass.  I'm sure you won't even notice the foul taste since its the same thing that already comes out of your mouth.

P.S. If you actually care to check the facts (yah right), you will see you either misread what I wrote (and "responded" to a claim I didn't make) or are flat out wrong on every point.

Then prove me wrong, show me I am wrong Please do that what you should be doing instead of whining about my ego HAHAHAHAHA. Your situation is the same as everyone else that whines about it, you loaned bitcoins to a scammer and now your mad cause you lost your bitcoins. People that just rant like that and never state facts are always wrong, and what you going to say that my lawyer is wrong OK. Dude you obviously didn't want to admit when your wrong but it is ok.

I will kiss BTCJams on the lips, I make good money from it and I am happy to loan and get good returns on my investments. They deserve praise for a great service. That will only become better with time, by there post today.
2930  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin 410 richest addresses, updated often. on: January 19, 2013, 01:50:13 AM
Of course, but most likely lost bitcoins are lost so without movement since let's say <2 years is a good estimation no?

Sounds like a very poor estimation, because by that count all money spent on 30 year Ts is "lost" 15 times over.
by <2 years I meant not used since 01/2011 so next year it will be 3 years and so on...

But so many people just leave bitcoins sitting in there addresses for awhile, so this stupid, it is like buying a stock and just holding, if you hold for 40yrs then sell, it is the same thing doesn't mean you lost it.
Please; we know that ! It's all about odd estimation.

But you can't estimation at all... that is like saying let me estimate all the cars that are drivable, and if they are parked in the same place for more than year they are not drivable. It doesn't make sense.

2932  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Bounty for GUI Litecoin GPU Miner on: January 18, 2013, 11:55:52 PM
Well I have a 5850 mining and getting over 350 to 420Kh/s on my 5850 with I set at 16,17,18 lot of things been changed etc but am willing to take bounty xD

I should have gotten bounty but he didn't want to work with me to get the GUI working so I just stopped working on it
2933  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin 410 richest addresses, updated often. on: January 18, 2013, 10:53:19 PM
That wouldn't be accurate, [...] So that is a horrible way to show if coins are lost or unable to be used.

I never said it would be 100% accurate. I'm sure there are SOME addresses without any transactions for over 2 years that the owners still have access to.

It is 0% accurate it is just being lucky...

I have a couple address that have no transactions but just one for over 6 months.

Then it's not inactive for over 2 years, is it?  Roll Eyes

Smart ass I see...

What more accurate method could you suggest then?

There is no accurate method, and that is the great thing about bitcoins, you mess up, you learn a lesson. That is how people are going to be become better bitcoiners. I think looking for those "lost coins" is a waste of time.
2934  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need help building a BTC gambling site. on: January 18, 2013, 10:28:42 PM
This project will probably be in development over the next couple of months, but I'll make sure to announce it when it's ready to go live.

I can't wait to see this train wreak if someone actually took the 70/30 they are not a good programmer at all.

Also WE DON"T NEED ANYMORE GAMBLING SITES waste of time you greedy person. Just trying to scam people out of money cause that is what gambling is a just a giant scam on weak people.
2935  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin 410 richest addresses, updated often. on: January 18, 2013, 10:26:17 PM
Knowing this, is it possible to know the amout of BTC that are "lost" if lost = unused for 2 years?

I bet there is a $/BTC point where most people started taking bitcoin seriously enough to backup their wallets before reformatting.

There should be an app that counts all the bitcoin addresses that haven't had any transactions since the exchange was at $x/BTC and gives you the total number of bitcoins likely lost.

That wouldn't account for forgotten passwords or coins sent to the wrong address etc since then, but it'd still be interesting to see the number.

That wouldn't be accurate, cause I know people that have just stuck some bitcoins in addresses that they never use. Me included, I have a couple address that have no transactions but just one for over 6 months. So that is a horrible way to show if coins are lost or unable to be used.
2936  Other / Off-topic / Re: So I think we have a bitcoin groupie on: January 18, 2013, 09:31:56 AM

2937  Economy / Services / Re: [Introduction] A bitcoin-loving file hosting service now in FREE USABILITY BETA on: January 18, 2013, 08:06:06 AM
So you ripped off everything from site design to features of megaupload then you have the audacity to say you admire WOW. Just amazed at this one. Your site is probably a scam anyway.
2938  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: January 18, 2013, 04:30:36 AM
And I am the clown we will break this down for the slow people in this thread...

-Allowing someone to email another user, whcih is the only thing I asked for, is not a violation of privacy under any US law.

They will have to get permission, from that person to share and it is a violation of privacy law ask a lawyer

-Under US law, sharing people's name/address/etc. is perfectly OK as well as long as the person agrees to it (when they sign up for example)

They have to get permission which they didn't and that makes it illegal act (I have a lawyer and I have asked him about this before talking out my ass which you do)

-BTCJam isn't even an American company, so our privacy laws don't apply anyway.

Actually they do have servers in the USA, and they say they are using the USA laws.

-I have emailed and PMed them 4 times regarding fixing my phone number and they never respond.  Numerous other comments have not been acknowledged.

WHY THEY GOING TO REPONSE TO SOMEONE THAT IS blasting there service and talking all this shit. What a clown you are.

-I haven't complained "so much" or at all before 2 days ago.

You been complaining you were talking shit when other people were talking shit and I prove them all wrong as well, with the facts not whiney bitchiness.

-My complaints have nothing to do with losing money, but rather the piss poor customer service BTCjam offers, and what appear to be outright lies.  It does not take 4+ months to figure out if you can make credit reports or not.  The "working on it" is a lie: they eitehr never tried or were rejected and don't want to admit it.

Your first complain was why don't they give me the docs they have, just shut up no one gives a shit about you, your annoying stupid 12yr.

6 errors in one post, impressive, even for a clueless know-it-all.

Where are my 6 errors? Cause I pretty sure I just showed how you were wrong

I glad you lost a lot of bitcoin maybe you will leave the community so people like me can move forward with out proving stupid people wrong.
2939  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: January 17, 2013, 09:52:56 PM
I have a simple question:  If BTCJam is never going to use the information then why do they collect it?  If they are never going to use it against deadbeats then what is the pupose in collecting it?

I can only make a guess that one day that they will be able to use that information against people who default. But they never promoted themselves as a way to "collect from default" they are just a tool to make investing easier and matching easier so I don't know why people think they should be doing all this extra stuff?
2940  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'd like to ask for some help. on: January 17, 2013, 09:14:14 PM
Ok I think Matthew should just focus on new business and try to win us over that way. I want to see what else he can do, he obvious has some good visions. Everyone deserves another chance if they really want it, and he sounds it.
