3842  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Looking for website designer to complete 3 pages and a flash interface. on: May 10, 2012, 07:44:30 AM
If you can supply one page and a flash file for the widget, that would be satisfactory too.

In my opinion, I would make a javascript widget, a lot of people block flash, but javascript isn't blocked as much. Plus flash is dying a slow and painful death and it is going to be phased out.
3843  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My transactions wont confirm... on: May 10, 2012, 07:42:30 AM
Same here. Its been like 8 hours, and I only got 8 active connections it says "catching up" dl 178282 of 179529 block of transaction history ..How much longer is it going to take?I got 1 red bar,and 2 gold bars, and 1 empty bar. That spinning icon on the lower right, what is that?

8 connections isn't a lot i am assuming your using bitcoin-qt since what you described. There are websites where you can download the transaction history and just pop it into bitcoin-qt so look into that, but if you keep open frequently it will not be that bad after the first time.
3844  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am developing this: http://www.pyramining.com/ on: May 10, 2012, 02:15:33 AM
So I didn't look at the link as I'm not interested but I do believe that it is bad practice to just leave "scam". You (gweedo) seemed to justify yourself a bit. But I guess everyone else can decide for themselves.

I've noticed that the community here is skeptical about everything.

we are dealing with money, even if it is virtual. I am not going to give out any if I think I am going to be taken advantage of. I think of it any investment and I always like to scope out my investment with the most skepticism.
3845  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am developing this: http://www.pyramining.com/ on: May 10, 2012, 01:58:04 AM
It does smell of scam js, your link to the site is a referral link, the site looks like a 12yr draw it. Best part is you go on the bottom "This service is still BETA. Use at your own risk." You might as just say when I get enough bitcoins I will run away. Also if I give 1.20 btc I get 10% bonus, if I give 2.5btc I get 10%. I would think if I am giving more my bonus should be more but it isn't. It looks very scammy.
3846  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My transactions wont confirm... on: May 09, 2012, 11:35:07 PM
It is probably cause you need to download all the transactions in the bitcoin-qt (assuming your using it), before yours will get confirmed.
3847  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Looking for website designer to complete 3 pages and a flash interface. on: May 09, 2012, 11:17:29 PM
Flash?!?!

Agreed this sounds like it can be PSD and made into a nice html, javascript, php site! Just some advice I think making it all javascript ajax and load on the one page will be simple and good!
3848  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CGMiner question on: May 07, 2012, 06:00:05 AM
if you connect them to your bitcoind for solo mining you don't need to worry about connecting them to one machine. If your using a pool, then let the pool software worry about that.
3849  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Bitcoin Test data for miners? on: May 05, 2012, 07:00:32 PM

That is not what I was looking for. Maybe I should be more clear, I want like historical bitcoin data that I can download and get the JSON. So I can pass data to my hashing and see what the output is after the out and match it up and see the nonce too.
3850  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: a miner for me on: May 05, 2012, 05:29:37 PM
if you have windows or mac I would suggest RPCminer I had a lot of success running that on my mac as a CPU miner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=8994.0

Not even worth using a CPU miner IMHO

It isn't worth it but for a beginner that is just learning and getting your feet wet, it isn't too bad. I haven't made a killing with a CPU miner but it is enough. So CPUmining isn't a complete lost cause for some people.
3851  Bitcoin / Mining support / Bitcoin Test data for miners? on: May 05, 2012, 05:18:19 PM
I am building my own miner and I would like to throw some test data to see that the hashing is working as it should be, anyone know where I can find this test data?
3852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your ideas for shell-based services on: May 05, 2012, 01:39:46 AM
You have an issue with your gcc maybe look into that,
Code:
gcc-config: error: could not run/locate 'gcc'

3855  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you want to see in a mining company? on: May 03, 2012, 04:50:52 PM
i want to see a miner that doesn't destroy a computer's hardware. too much is too much

if you look at RPCminer for mac OSX or Windows it will actually consume only idle CPU power so you can still do what you need too, and it will not destroy your hardware. Also maybe you want to invest into some better cooling for your computer.

3858  Other / Beginners & Help / What are some good CPUminers on: May 03, 2012, 06:57:17 AM
I have on my mac RPCminer which I am very happy with, and I am connected to a pool, but I also use cpuminer on my linux (ubuntu) server. So what are your favorite CPUminers.
