I like Gox because it has two step authentication. I hate relying on passwords only. Does any other exchange offer 2-step?

Very smart. I use Google Authenticator on CampBX.

Where do you get the idea that capital gains are tiny or non-existent.  Have fun with that idea.

under current law, taxpayers in the lowest two tax brackets (10% and 15%) pay no taxes on long-term capital gains or qualified dividends.

So be sure to hold onto those bitcoins for at least a year.

I was pretty happy when I was using a 1% cashout every $10 increase, so I made a copy of the spreadsheet and switched it from % increases to fixed $ increases. It's a good looking plan.

WTF?

If KnC has 70% of the hashrate, then they were very irrisponsible in how much hashrate they brought online.  This trend will continue.

With the network roughly 4 TH/s, 70% would be 2.8 TH/s, or roughly 5000 Jupiters. But they shipped a lot of units slower than Jupiters. So lets say roughly 10,000 units shipped. Is that in line with their shipping announcements?

Don't believe the FUD; the ToS are not in conflict with FTC regulations.

HashFast paid lawyers specializing in that sort of thing to write their ToS in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, etc.

There is no "right to cancel an order before the guaranteed delivery date" nor is there any FTC regulation creating one ex nihilo.

You must cancel an order and provide a prompt refund when:

How many millions USD do we need each day just to keep the price floating?

About 1.
2928  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 05, 2013, 11:14:05 PM
No, wrong.  You don't have the right to cancel an order before the guaranteed delivery date you agreed to in the ToS.

Since when do random ToS trump FTC regulations?

until you are living your life entirely on bitcoin, not making the full btc you spent back means fuck all. Life runs on fiat right now and thats the ROI that actually matters.

Good point. Guess how you get more fiat? Get more BTC! Don't ever invest in something that gives you less BTC!

i'm about to throw some switches and my peeps dump 10,000+ coins on the market

Yes, please! I need to pick up some cheap coins.
2931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Uncharted territory. What happens at $266? on: November 05, 2013, 10:07:56 PM
Except that the common chinese worker cannot afford to risk even $100 into bitcoin.

China is #2 in GDP. There's plenty of money there.
2932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 05, 2013, 09:58:20 PM
Of course its about the $ value

How would you feel about ROI on miner hardware if the reverse was true?

If you had paid 100 BTC for a miner when BTC was worth $100

You mined 101 BTC but BTC value dropped to $50

Would you say you have made a ROI?

Yes! More BTC than you started with is a profit. Less BTC than you started with is a loss.

In bitcoin years thats like eternity.

That was back when the difficulty was only 390M.

Now I have found Equity Institutional is willing to be my custodian to hold shares of a Unit Investment Trust (UIT), specifically the Bitcoin Investment Trust offered by SecondMarket.

What account type are you using, EI's Flex IRA?

I suppose there is some chance that all remaining inventory went to the 100Th/s Mine.  But my guess is that he and Punin are just zeroing-out their inventory for an upcoming price reduction.

I sure hope so. They have a good product, but the price isn't competitive any more.

With all due respects, some of us find the more creative trolls mildly amusing. Ignore me if you want for quoting them but I'll continue not ignoring anyone, trolls included.

Creative trolls can be interesting. Just spamming "crash incoming" several times every page is not creative.

Shouldn't this be held at a place where you can use your bitcoins to the fullest? Say Amsterdam or Prague?
