s9 are out of order, I wanted to buy some

Why ?  Look better China S9 price + free 1600W PSU + coupon

https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020160720030451168OpKu9Hc60687

and you will realize that you are  ...

1. Offer the present time Thursday, 14:00, totaling 999 units, each account to purchase a maximum of three.

2. Each Get APW3 + 1600 watt power supply, a power cord to bring your own.

3. Get a 300 yuan each coupon payment to the end of the event the account within a week.

china s9 = ( BTC2.671) - (APW3+ -12-1600 BTC0.162 ) - coupon rmb300 BTC0.0676
             =BTC2.4414
             =usd1621

hmmm.... not bad for a S9 11.85T.

the 12.93TH batch is just over 2k without a PSU.

400$ reduction for 1THs less hashing, is still worth it

Well I would like coupons for my 5 s-9's purchased.  I do not need any  psus  but a coupon or two would be nice.
29242  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hi chip temps on s9? on: July 21, 2016, 05:14:21 PM
I am pushing 99 ? Is this normal? Worried. Its fairly well vented but could be better

best guesses are under 102-104 okay

over 110 bad.

this is based on a chip designer's opinion :

 NotSoFuzzyWarm

and the spec sheet gives 125 max at junction

and I am doing this from stuff read in posts here and my not so perfect memory.
29243  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buying from BitMain Tech on: July 21, 2016, 05:11:41 PM
It is after 3 opened tickets and real arrival time was 29.07.2016

You sure?

back to the future Grin

Hey philip I got a quick question: How would the halving interfere with any of the sites hash calculations?  If you don't update the block reward than that part will be wrong, sure, but how do they f-up the hash calc?  If you know blocks expected, blocks found, and difficulty what's the problem?

smh  Huh

I am not sure and I don't want to put on a tinfoil hat, but  it is  the spec thread  so  how about it is deliberate to deceive  newer investors?

Now that is the true tinfoil hat/ conspiracy spec.

Not saying that.

this is still out of date

so it can not be checked against here.

this one below seems to be the best graph

29245  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: July 21, 2016, 04:14:33 PM
Hello in my miner on first line in ASIC status it is showing X what to do now ?

http://imgur.com/a/wnsAN

Restart

why it is coming X ?

Most of the time your clock is too high for the psu.
So if you are at freq 600 change to freq  593 and see if the x drops off

29248  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buying from BitMain Tech on: July 21, 2016, 11:58:35 AM
Bitmaintech will send you the gear 99% of the time.

They are in China and sometimes customs screw up the deliveries if that happens fuck you.
If it came broken fuck you.
If it breaks in under 90 days and you look for warranty service fuck you.

Much of the fuck you's involve  shipping back on your dime and waiting a month or more for gear replacement.

bitmaintech.com based in China

____________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________
bitmainwarranty will charge a little more send you the gear 99.9 % of the time  if it is broken they are much better on service

https://bitmainwarranty.com/

  based in usa

I have purchased a lot of gear from China  more then 50 pieces since 2013 >  Everyone made it to my home in New Jersey.

1 came broken   I could show a photo of it broken ten minutes after it was marked delivered and bitmaintech  said ship it to china no cross shipping basically fuck you.
bitmainwarranty  pm'd me to send it to them and they crossed shipped one from Denver.  3 day delay  vs 30 days.

Another one from China came and underhashed  4400 vs 4800 bitmaintech never sent me reinbursement.  I bitched and moaned for 9 months.  bitmainwarranty sent me a 150 usd refund on may 1st this year.

In both cases  bitmainwarranty fixed bitmaintech's problems.  good for me but I would not tell you this is the norm.

For me I order from China more often then not. But frankly it is not safe  just pretty safe .

9 of 10 safe or maybe 48 of 50 safe.

Another 999 S9's will soon join the network. I am so disappointed that they will be sold for cheaper, with a bonus AWS-1600 psu, and a 300 yuan coupon for future purchase. Anyone know if international buyers may receive similar benefit in the near future?

As a Mets fan I should say no ,but your Yankees are not winning much so here goes.

421642 (Main Chain)   2016-07-21 02:40:53

421344 (Main Chain)   2016-07-18 23:22:42

299 blocks made.

2 days 3 hours 20 min

288
  18
    2

308 = 0%

so 299/308-1 = -2.92%
but a long way to go.

look below at this trend

Difficulty History

Date   Difficulty   Change   Hash Rate
Jul 18 2016   213,492,501,108   0.04%   1,528,238,850 GH/s
Jul 04 2016   213,398,925,331   1.88%   1,527,569,009 GH/s
Jun 21 2016   209,453,158,595   6.83%   1,499,324,110 GH/s
Jun 08 2016   196,061,423,940   -1.63%   1,403,462,340 GH/s
May 24 2016   199,312,067,531   2.60%   1,426,731,353 GH/s
May 11 2016   194,254,820,283   8.73%   1,390,530,167 GH/s

So May 12 to July 20    1,390,530,167    to     1,483,613,935  in hash rate  not so bad
29252  Other / Archival / Re: Diff thread July 18 to Aug 1st? picks are yet to start! on: July 20, 2016, 10:05:50 PM
As I have mentioned graphs right now seem to be wrong:

the gray line  on bitcoinwisdom is not correct.
we never did the 1650ph it shows for yesterday

So two of three major sites are wrong

So it has me wondering, were the "spikes" we were seeing on the bitcoinwisdom graphs for all these adjustments fake spikes?  Did the number of solved blocks during those spikes correspond with the rise and fall of network hash rate?  I honestly didn't pay that close of attention, but now it brings to question many months of data tracking.

I checked  back at random since nov.  all seem good before the ½ing but a lot of graph data after ½ ing is wrong.

It is a big undertaking to fully analyze it.  But fast checks seem to show issues started after ½ing.  I think that all sites have not fully updated their soft ware
29253  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar array starting to look good. on: July 20, 2016, 08:33:44 PM
Now with the halving and miners thinking of adding S9 to their list of mining equipments, do you think a zero electricity bill will still be feasible as time goes on?

We can always make a zero electric bill with this array.  The power was paid for up front via the install.  State of NJ issues the credits to subsidy it.  So state to state this may or may not be true.

This is grid tied.  and it makes 67kwatts so 67 x 5= 335kwatts produced a day.. since 5 hours of full sun is the NJ average.   so take  7 kwatts x 24 for the miners = 168 kwatts used per day.

there is 167 kwatts left over that sells back to the grid..

the question becomes more like what btc price and what diff rate makes this not worth while .  the answer is  650 coins price and a diff close to 500 we would still be okay to runs this gear.

at a coin price of 650 and a diff of 700 we become not viable
29254  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 2000W Power Breakout Board (DPS2000BB to PC-Ie x12) on: July 20, 2016, 08:15:47 PM
It looks like I should place some 6-32 holes on the board for standoff.  I hate to see it hang like that.  On the next rev, I will provide an update!

-Optim

yeah it would be good to have it.

I can not turn on side since the psu needs  to be cooled . I have some rubber that will do.

the low power loss is very impressive 12.20 volts at junction to 12.11  volts at s-9 pcie jacks.

Phil,

How goes testing?  I have finally straightened out part of manufacturing for the 4ks.  My initial testing looks promising.  I will be sending one of these to you as soon as I polish everything off and trust the design.  So far, current sharing looks good and balanced between both supplies around 2500W.

-Optim

Sweet  I just scored 4 dps-2500 psu's I was going to ask about the 4k board. today.

I also picked up a few cables from  :

Itop https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1535584.0

my goals are to fully compare

your 2k board
your 4k board

j4bberwock's 2k board
j4bberwock's 4k board

using the dps 2500 psu's

Also will compare
your pcie cables
j4bberwock's pcie cables
and Itop's pcie cables.

So in 92 f temps and the solar array stack is 97f  your 2k boards run cooler then j4bberwock's 2k board.

now to be fair to all none of the gear really pushes a psu.

my max watts is 1300 at the meter (ac) on a dps-1600 psu  using your 2k board
I also do  1300 watts at the meter (ac) on a dps-2500 psu   using your 2k board
I also do 2600 watts at the the meter (ac) on a j4bberwock  4k board and 2 dps 2000 psu's
and lastly 1300 watts at the meter (ac) on a j4bberwock 2k board and 1 dps=2000 psu.

on none server psus I do 1200 watts at the meter with a evga 1600 p2 osu.

plain and simple  your pcie cables j4bberwocks cables and Itops cables all seem close enough

But I get better numbers head to head with your board against j4bberwocks.
I drop less voltage and I run cooler.

you can get in to arguments as to which is more cost effective since his is cheaper, but I no longer recommend his for avalon 6's as I have darkened my 4k board and my 2880 board running avalon 6's on j4bberwock boards.
Basically I estimate your boards can do 25 watts more per jack then his boards can do.

I have these 4 psu's waiting for some 4k  boards from you.  they came today

29255  Other / Archival / Re: Diff thread July 18 to Aug 1st? picks are yet to start! prize = $50 usd on: July 20, 2016, 07:53:06 PM
Besides, if you want to replace the 20PH with S9 hardware, you'll need to purchase at least 1700 of them. Even with a discount, that will be significant money to send off to Bitmain. I wonder what kind of terms you get if you offer to buy 1700 S9 units from Bitmain?

and lets say   this pretend farm does 5 s-9's a week  in a week  he gains 60th but he can take 50 s-5's off line.

losing 57.5 th

net hash rate gain = 2.5 th

power savings 7000 watts  for the near gear adds on but 30,000 watts drops

So that is 23 kwatts saved which is 552 kwatts per day and 3864 kwatts saved in a week.  that is 220 usd in power savings with a gain in 2.5th hash rate.

So this 20ph s-5 farm should simply add 5 s-9s a week for now since price is high.
If and when price drops he can speed up his conversion.

now that is the s-5 guy with cheap power.

if you are 20ph in s-7's  with 6 cent power  just mine and hold your coins

29257  Other / Archival / Re: Diff thread July 18 to Aug 1st? picks are yet to start! prize = $50 usd on: July 20, 2016, 01:17:56 PM
It may be that we are starting to see an effect of the halving on difficulty. Both bitcoinwisdom (-1.98%) and nextdifficulty (-2.1%) are showing difficulty decreases. We'll have to see how it actually works over the next 12-13 days, but this might actually be "real".

BTC price still at $673.

I'm wondering the same if finally some miners are going offline.  I thought leading up to halving we would see a lot bigger increase which I was happily wrong on. Really it is pretty pretty slow on dropping off on old gear.   I would really like to see drop off how much is home/hobby miners vs big miners.  If you think about it a lot of these bigger mines spent a good amount of money upfront for info structure (cooling, wiring, etc).    So it would make sense they might re-invest.

I am happy with BTC price though it's been pretty steady.   No big drop off on value side has been a great thing for those long term holding.

well  +1 %  0% -2%  all work for those that purchased s-9's early.

remember  1200ph of the network is old gear.

 400PH older then s-7
 800ph s-7+ avalon 6
 400 ph s-9

all approximate but not far off.

So  you had cheap power 5.646 cents cents  and 20ph in s-5's

before the ½ ing your farm would be earning  14912 usd a day
after the ½ ing your farm would be earning        3.40 usd per day

you figure I will mine for a bit as I am not losing  so you mine 10 days.

and you now decide I will swap out s-5's slowly for s-9's

why slowly you are not losing money so why rush.

As for why aren't you listing the 20,000 s-5's on ebay  simple you are a chinese farm  and you don't list on ebay

F#@k  risers. Those boards are not really good.
I use a biostar z170   got it for 110 on sale at newegg.
Been mining with it since april.
I have used four nano on it now I use four rx 480's on it.
Slight under clock  about 550watts for the four cards and the board.
about 95-96mh and it just runs and runs and runs and runs.

Windows 7 pro and claymore software just doing ETH

I built this four card rig room is 84f

the secret is the spacers from the hdmi jacks  of the video cards they allow for air to reach the fans

infra red gun reads 43 to 49 c

hottest card is 72c   worst hasher is 22h as it is the one that drives the display

good temps see  cards 2 3 4 below  and 1 above

Thanks for the info all. It's most helpful and yes, I'm on 120v. I have the S9's hooked up using 14 gauge extension cords as a temp solution. Sounds like I should go with a lower gauge. At the same time, will using the 14 gauge cord with these S9's be a fire hazard over time?

short 14 like 10 feet or less may be okay .  but 50 foot runs no go. they are just to close to the max limits to run 24/7/365

I think most are waiting for an update from you if they can order.  Wink

I am pretty sure he is sold out right now.
