2941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Eurocoin (EUC) is SHA256 based crypto currency on: July 01, 2015, 12:53:13 PM
shitty retarget... too much instamine

and empty github https://github.com/scriptexpert/Eurocoin

Also old Bitcoin source. I'm not gonna lie, max 30-40 people still mine new coins, they are all shit with incompetent developers.

Time to stop.

Even if new coins get added to 0 volume exchanges like yobit or c-cex they will not produce profit. If you invest 2 much money into rig renting you can not jump out since markets have no volume or buy walls, there is literally no point anymore with new coins.

This is quite true, I no longer mine coins as I have to rent a rig and the last time I made anything decent from it was with Litedoge and that was just good timing.

You are much better to pick up the coins from an exchange when they come out or mine a coin that feels good and real, not like this as an example, zilch new and you can tell also by the comments how much weight the user carries in the community and the validity of this coin.  It's just a cheap attempt at taking advantage of the current crisis in Greece and impending EU doom.

2944  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Free Coins For Everyone on: June 29, 2015, 08:39:21 PM
I saw this as well, quite good that this exchange is running a faucet, it would be great if other exchanges followed suit as it would attract a lot of regular visits

Only one shop I have seen so far that you can walk into in the UK and use Bitcoin to pay for products or get paid in Bitcoin, they are CEX video game store, and they carry a Bitcoin ATM, apart from that I have not heard of any others.  Obviously this is just a small chain of stores, it will take a long time before 'business' moves forward and adopts it.
2947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: UTcoin(UTcoin) on: June 29, 2015, 04:32:57 PM
What the hell man, the op is too condensed it needs spaces and paragraphs for an easy read, lost interest in it after a couple of sentences presentation is key
2948  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greek banks to remain closed for a week's time. ATM withdrawals 60€/day on: June 29, 2015, 04:28:52 PM
This is all such a shame fro the Greek people, restricted to how much they can draw out of their money.  Could bring a whole new meaning to the term "it's all Greek to me"!
2949  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: holy cow... I just got paid 6.6BTC at Cryptergy... on: June 29, 2015, 04:16:55 PM
I doubt this very much to be true, just many in a long line of scam offers, keep your money and you'll have 100% in ten days rather than -100% in ten days.

2951  Other / Meta / Re: 2FA for more security in bitcointalk forum on: June 29, 2015, 12:24:18 PM
I like this idea, I use 2FA on many sites, very easy, quick and an extra layer of security.
2952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greece's first Bitcoin ATM installed on: June 29, 2015, 12:20:56 PM
Good news, the Bitcoin ATM's are realy easy to use although the one I saw was limited to just bank notes and not credit cards, very easy to use it actually surprised me.
2953  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Play - Get free bitcoins for playing games on: June 29, 2015, 09:28:06 AM
This is a great idea, I have seen coin flapper which is mobile based and is quite addictive, giving people the chance to win some satoshi for playing games that they would be playing anyway is a great way to bring people into the BTC world, I will give some games a go when I get home.
2954  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much is spent on bitcoin mining? on: June 29, 2015, 09:24:52 AM
Would be interesting to know how much has been spent on bitcoin mining. This is an amount that could potentially go towards the Epistemic Standard Economy.

There's articles about investments from VC in the bitcoin space, but there isn't much about the numbers being spent on mining. Probably not easy to get a concrete number with the network hashrate changing, factoring in that a top miner would have a high price the previous year for less Gh/s compared to the next, and several other things to consider.

If we were to go by this article http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/arch ... half-2014/ (from last July) it costs $1.5 – $2 million to deploy 1 petahash.

At the current network speed of ~300 Ph/s that figure would be around $450 million. (300 x 1.5)

It is probably quite a scary amount, I remember when I got into Bitcoin I tried mining both Bitcoin and Litecoin using my cpu, it's fair to say I mined nothing at all and quickly learned how it all worked Smiley

Yeah I saw this a few times, not going to happen just ignore this and move along to something else which will not steal your coins and run away.

2960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: June 24, 2015, 03:53:25 PM
Any other ways to earn bitcoin because i can not join the signature campaign, Sad

Good luck

What is for you a good faucet?

A good faucet for me I have found is one that regular pays out your collected satoshi and one that has a chance of winning more that the minimum.  The one I quoted earlier has started a weekly lottery also, it has been in existence for well over a year.  This is my idea of a 'good' faucet, there are a lot out there which are scams and do not pay out.
