2941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ? on: November 28, 2015, 02:22:12 AM
I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?

No, i think altcoins are useful, because each one of them targets other groups of people, and they are all a gateway to the cryptoworld.

They all are magnets to crypto, spread accross to different groups, and they all attract new people into crypto.

Therefore bitcoin gets free PR from them, because it is the dominant one.
2942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could you share Your first time BTC Experience? on: November 28, 2015, 02:20:21 AM
I was shaking on my first transaction done with blockchain.info, because i feared that I send btc to the wrong address.

Now i`m using electrum and now i can verify 3 times the address before sending it, feels more safe.
2943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a waste of time mentioning Bitcoin to friends and family? on: November 28, 2015, 02:18:15 AM
Yes it is unless they have a demand for it.

If you family is just casual people, they wont find bitcoin useful at all. Wait until the economy gets worse, and then everybody will beg to you to teach them about bitcoin.
2944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing money on Smartphone is far more secure than desktop or laptop on: November 28, 2015, 02:16:45 AM

It's ironic, because many people don't realize that their smartphones are actually the most secure computing device they own, far more secure than desktop or laptop systems. It's wallets that can be accessed from the web or desktop that should really only be used for pocket change.

I call bullshit on this one. Anybody with half a brain knows that phones are the most insecure electronic items that you can ever touch.

Not just that they ping the GPS coordinates to possible thieves (so possible armed robbers know exactly where the chest of gold is).

Then you got hardly any antivirus for phones that works, nor you can verify the signatures of those files you download.

Storing large amounts of BTC on a phone is like begging to be robbed.
2945  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you guys react if you guys lost 10, 000 bitcoin? on: November 28, 2015, 02:14:23 AM
I would do anything to get my bitcoin back, from restore my wallet file, ask help from bitcoiner with big reward, ask professional to find & restore my wallet file.
But, if i lost it because someone stole it, i would make give 50% to whoever can stole back my bitcoin.

If i still don't get my bitcoin back, i don't have choice, but forget it Embarrassed

Stealing something back that's yours is not theft, its just reclaiming your property.

I don't if somebody stole 10,000 btc from you  , you will ever see that money again, anybody that will steal that much will be long gone before you would even realize that it's missing...
2946  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoinblackfriday.info - Do NOT use their website. on: November 28, 2015, 02:05:13 AM
Looks like a very soptisticated scam, they bought all websites , setup all the phising sites, and spend a lot on advertising.

They probably stolen much money too. Damnit, and I wanted to buy something from that site.

2947  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who will win WW3? on: November 28, 2015, 02:01:58 AM

That wasn't an argument at all, it was an example intended to discredit the source of information. Russia admits to having a dead hand system, the US denies having one. I don't think it's very likely, out of character even.

Since I can't offer you any credible evidence to backup my claim, nor can you offer any credible evidence to disprove it, it's just another example of Russell's teapot.

The only nonsense argument being made here is that either side could possibly survive a nuclear exchange. It's just not a survivable scenario for either. Whatever remains afterwards of both sides would be too devastated to function.

If that's nonsense to you, then please enlighten me with your sense of how it could work any other way.

Yes they keep putting up those nuke shields and missile systems, like if they can catch all nukes.

If there is a nuclear war, thousands of them will be launched, and if the shield catches only half of them, then it will be a disaster.
2948  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: November 27, 2015, 01:20:17 PM
I've been getting a "Failed To Place Bet At A Time" error for the last 12 hours or so whenever I try to roll the dice.

Anyone got any idea why that would be the case?

Yes, this happens when connections are not terminated properly. I have reset the connection count for your account now so it works again. Unfortunately we have to do severe blocking of simultaneous connections because the system would otherwise be vulnerable in the same way that PD was when Hufflepuff cheated $1M in Bitcoin out of their system.

The drama got to reddit:

https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3u2ago/satoshidice_100_scam_thieves_or_corrupt_insiders/

You might want to explain to them what happened, I think satoshidice is very trustable but there is a lot of slander going on here.
2949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll result: NXT is a proper cryptocurrency on: November 27, 2015, 03:49:10 AM
NXT is rising again down from 1750 to 2000

added to my stash think we going bull now since bitcoin has dumped

NXT is already 1800 , i think we hit the bottom and we will have a rebounce pretty soon.

I`m looking forward for NXT @ 3000-4000, to attract more people in.
2950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 27, 2015, 03:46:43 AM
Will monero implement the new BIP that will allow decentralized exchanges?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1248631.0

One day we can see a decentralized, MONERO <> BTC exchange system.

We have a very limited but similar feature already in that our nLockTime field works differently than the Bitcoin one (and more like CLTV). It isn't very useful without multisig and some other smart contract capabilities though. We're still studying how to integrate those.

Among other approaches we have looked at integrating Automated Transactions (which is available as open source and has been integrated with several other coins already), but none of it really makes sense without all the other pieces being there as well.

Great keep up the good work, hopefully one day we can see a triangle between MONERO <> NXT <> BTC , instant automatic exchange, no limits, minimal fees, and no trust Smiley

That will be the most glorious day in the cryptocurrency world.
2951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Gavin is so desperate about his fork? Is he hiding something? on: November 26, 2015, 02:28:49 PM
... the cheerleaders of the Front National and alikes.

I hope this isn't too off-topic for a thread about Climate Change, but I just wanted to point out that you seem to be a bit of a Frontaphobe. I don't want to be too judgmental, because maybe you've had bad experiences with the French. But you shouldn't give in to fear-mongering lies. The vast majority of supporters of the Front National are peaceful people who are proud of their heritage.

Rightwing socialists/collectivists/frontists/statists.

Yes, that is the usual litany of NF's sins against political correctness, which you Marxist tranzis trot out at every opportunity.

LOL, Marxist. The Marxists represent the frontists on the other side of the collectivist front in the stadium. A fight of right wing vs. left wing collectivists; judean peoples front against the peoples front of Judea. We, the punks and anarchists live beyond those collectivist-statist clowns. We have nothing in common with such ridiculous collectivist behavior and character.

lmfaooo

We?! you are so funny! Cheesy

None of those that have great power have any responsibility at all, therefore they dont deserve any power at all.

This could be applied to some bitcoin developers too, they can be wreckless too.
2952  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: November 26, 2015, 02:26:26 PM

The leaderboard prize is an incentive to play on SatoshiDice, but its house edge is pretty high compared to other dice sites. It's good for investors, but not for players.

They also don't really NEED advertising as they're one of the oldest gambling sites established for Bitcoin. (Though, it's also good to have some marketing)

That is why they need promo because only the old players know satoshidice, the new ones +2014 onward rarely know it.

I think a marketing campaign can be very useful for satoshidice.

We will do a lot of promos but releasing proper login system and mobile friendliness first. Much more coming soon too!

Thats cool, I hope privacy will still be prioritized in the new system.

Hi Satoshidice,

I am considering to invest in Satoshidice, but I cannot find a registration membership button and the personal deposit address in the investment page is changing every time I visited to this page.

So, my question is, how can I make investment? Just deposit to the random deposit address? If so, where can I check the details of my investment (e.g., profits and losses).

I dont think you should do that, you get a secret url for every visit. That is your account, you must save that secret url and add a password, only after that use the site.

Hello, did you read my posts. I have a few tips for Satoshidice to improve itself:

2954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [CATALOG] Good websites to Invest My Bitcoins? on: November 26, 2015, 11:44:11 AM
you are right my friend . you can earn a good amount of bitcoins through investment there are many sites that gives a  valuable amount of btc profit for investment but sometimes investment causes a big loss . that depends upon the profit of that site .
i had also lost my 0.3btc instead of profit due to stopping of investment site.

You were scammed. Its not because the site closed, but because the guys run away with the bitcoins.

You should open a scam report about it.

2955  Other / Archival / Re: REVIEW: Pros and Cons of different Bitcoin Storage methods on: November 26, 2015, 07:44:54 AM

I suggest putting like 8.5 or something like that and talk about storing a properly made paper wallet in a bank safety deposit box.  If it's done correctly no risk of hacking as it's a paper wallet (again IF done correctly).   And with bank it has high security that most places don't.

Its a good option for large sums of bitcoins.

A paper wallet doesnt have access to bitcoin. It stores private keys.

Then you must have the private key on a computer to be able to sign a transaction. At which point you have to choose 1 out of the 9 methods to access that private key.

So a paper wallet is more like a backup plan, but not a bitcoin point of access.

Blond asian  Smiley
This is a rare find and quite a sight when you see one.

She painted her hair. There are no blonde asians. I personally dont like blonde women, or in fact any women that paints her hair. I like natural hair, it looks the best.
