2941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When is the Bitcoin symbol going to be added to the keyboard? on: November 28, 2021, 01:43:48 PM
It doesn't need to be added to the keyboard exactly? Even local currencies don't have its own symbol on the keyboard. Maybe when it has the same level of authority as the $? Though honestly with it being decentralized, I highly doubt it would only take that, it'd probably need a lot more. Undisputed at that level I supppose?

Adding the Bitcoin symbol to the keyboard will scream "ADOPTION".
Wouldn't you think that at that point it's screaming that it's already been adopted instead? Being on the Keyboard as its own logo would mean that it has a very solid reputation overall on the global level. Much so that there's no need to introduce it to most people, they'd already know it.
2942  Economy / Services / Re: Cryptocurrency trading. No risk. on: November 28, 2021, 07:35:29 AM
Arbitrage. Pretty sure it's not possible now? or at least the risk involved isn't worth the effort and time to actually do it. It's not a "no risk" trading, if it was, then every bloody strategy out there has no risk and everyone would be sitting on top of a pile of money right now instead of scalping (might just be me really). It's really easy to lose the opportunity when there's one in arbitrage trading, even with experience backing you. After all, experience doesn't set the speed of exchanges updating their prices.
2943  Economy / Economics / Re: No where is actually safe on: November 28, 2021, 05:19:16 AM
I will say crypto isn't a safe Haven and there is no 100% guarantee in crypto investment although one can attest to the fact crypto isn't ponzi but yet it's not just an easy adventure its an ever learning business option that could be passively yielding and at the same time bankrupt yielding depending on ones approach.
I'm pretty sure that's every investment out there is? Only dumb people would invest with the mindset of actually profiting off of what they invested immediately, turning their $1 to millions in an instant, but hey, a man can dream amirite?
If crypto was that easy to go by we would have had more than half of the world's population living very comfortably not giving much concern to their economic data any longer. But the truth remains crypto investment is more difficult compared to manual businesses
It's not just crypto investment, it's every business that's difficult if you are dumb and don't really study what you're going to invest in. Crypto has a lot of room for one to actually profit if you're one of the early investors. Heck, I'd still consider this time as an early investment really. Though as others have said, if you're winning, someone else is also naturally losing, that's how trading works after all.

Mere HOLDing isn't the best for bitcoin and other crypto with high volatility. This where the technicality that blows down account within seconds comes in when the analysis goes wrong. To decide when to sell and when to buy back so you don't get trapped in the whale is the deal. Just like bitcoin which is never stable always having a fluctuation in price so much of experience and knowledge is needed crypto is just too risky
So you mean that you should hodl when the price is stable? I don't see how one can profit that way though. Besides, zoom out a bit, and try saying again that hodling isn't the best for Bitcoin lmao.
2944  Economy / Economics / Re: 2.5 million US truckers say they'll quit over vaccine mandate on: November 28, 2021, 01:38:00 AM
I suppose it hinges upon whether truckers in 2021 are considered skilled or unskilled labor. Would a 2.5 million chunk of the workforce quitting create a vacuum which could easily be filled. The term independent contractors used to describe the trucking industry. Is often used to describe employment conditions that do not fit the label. Mixed martial artists in the UFC and pro wrestlers in WWE are both considered independent contractors. With a great deal of controversy surrounding the terminology and whether it is apt.
I'm not sure what exactly would happen in the long term, since as you said, it's a matter of whether it's possible to quickly fill up that vacuum of the workforce. It does present a problem in the short term as stated in the article though since it would fill a gap towards that process that was already set in stone. Not to mention that the workforce to be filled is required to be vaccinated, and I don't suppose they're just going to get some random vaccinated dude that could drive as their worker. That is unless Elon releases his unmanned truckers.
2945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling Court on: November 27, 2021, 01:11:19 PM
I remember there are forums to take care of such fraud in forex industry. Here in this forum as well people will try to provide you a resolution if a casino's representative is available here. In my opinion, open discussion based resolution will be appropriate as it will not be misused and there will be no cost to anyone. But, the catch here is, we need to play only on the crypto casinos which are concerning about their reputation on this forum. This is like playing on a licensed casino hence not a hard rule for following.

Simply, choosing a reputed crypto casino that is having their official active topic here will address your concern as if you face any problem then you can open a topic with all details in scam accusation section where this community will investigate based on all the proof you provide to a resolution.
That's severely limited to casinos here though, and most of them are even crypto casinos, online casinos that use fiat aren't included on the list no? Plus it has no legality included. The idea is really nice tbh, but an online court is not something we'd exactly need since it needs a centralized organization around it. It pretty much says that ALL types of casinos should be licensed and registered to that organization so that they can keep track,, and when issues arise, they can then do the court stuff about it. Highly doubt it would be allowed, different countries have different laws about gambling after all.
2946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or hardware wallet ? on: November 27, 2021, 11:11:58 AM
Other than what mk4 said, could also be described as:
Exchanges - you let them manage your stuff, down from storing your funds to security.
Hardware wallet - you manage your own stuff, storage, security, transfer, etc. down to the last bit.

You can also compare it to how you have a knife. You give it to someone else, and you let them handle what's going to happen with it. You don't give it to someone else, you decide how it's used. It's like letting the responsibility fall to someone else (to lessen the burden for you, but also leaving it to the hand of others) vs using full responsibility for it yourself. Imo a hardware wallet defeats exchanges by a mile.
2947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ️ Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 27, 2021, 04:47:19 AM
Many of us didn't expected that to happen. But that's good to see him in pro play again. While on the other news, there's kaka that's said that he's going to stream for a while now just to avoid the stress with the competitive pro player. And his team IG has a new roster update.
There's no more boboka on IG but fade is now part of them.
Waiting for what Fade could actually bring to IG. Fade had a pretty good track record the last few games he had after all. Kaka on the other hand, taking a break which isn't surprising I suppose? Competitive play is just THAT intense after all. Well, I hope he can make a comeback from it though.

Actually if you are updated on social media news about this roster you will not be surprised especially if you are following his twitch stream and reddit discussion about dota2. There's also some leak negotiation rumors about this so this is not surprising anymore for avid Dota fans.

Jerax still play other games after he retired. That's why I believe he just want to have a break on Dota Pro scene but eventually will come once he feels the excitement again.
Well, it was still a leak, after all, I didn't really trust it at first then saw EG posting about it and said, "Oh boy, he's back". Kinda hyped what he's going to bring for EG though, after all EG needs that comeback since the performances they've had in the past TI's have been quite disappointing. Let's see what happens with the new EG now.
2948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling Court on: November 27, 2021, 02:25:12 AM
There have been so many accusations and counter-accusations on the subject matter of fraud so many players have come out with evidence of scams against some sites while the operator of those sites come up with counter-accusations that players violated their T&C.
I think it will be proper if an online accredited court is set up to judge such cases, rather than leaving them uncensored.
I'm pretty sure you could bring them up in the court itself, so there's no need to set up an online one though afaik it's limited to where the casino is located or the country it's registered at. That's why licensed casinos are preferred more since they ensure that the casino is actually registered somewhere and is legally doing business. Also OP I think you made a mistake, I think you meant censored? And the only reason really why it's left as such is because the user doesn't bring it up to court. He posts it instead in the sites forum and other sites that have gambling-related threads (like this one) and lets the people know, and it stops there. It isn't really censored per se, but it mostly has a limited impact.
2949  Economy / Economics / Re: Prospective retailer on: November 26, 2021, 04:06:09 PM
I was just wondering don't you think becoming a retail vendor through a well developed exchange can earn you passive income or you haven't thought in that direction. Or could there be an  untold/hidden mysteries behind setting up an exchange because we still need more exchanges so we can give crypto more boost beyond government regulations
It won't. There's a LOT of processes you'd probably have to go through plus you might be hit by your government about it anytime. Not to mention that to even have traffic, you'd have to compete with big exchanges that are already out there like Binance, and to actually go over them, you'd have to spend your fair share of the money, and that is in no way cheap imo. It won't even be passive profit, at that point you'd probably just lose money tbh. It's comparable to an entire business tbh, and a pretty big one at that imo. It's no mystery really, it's just how businesses work.
2950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Ioka Dec 31 on: November 26, 2021, 12:57:01 PM
I'd go for Anjacas for this one. He has a pretty solid record and is known to have defended his belt quite well now. Plus his track record shows that he has the ability to go to the top, he just needs to develop in time. He's rather underrated but that doesn't mean his skills are as well, pretty sure he's already derusted from his last match with Rodriguez a few months back imo so I don't expect to see a weak opening from him in this match. Might honestly just be biased but honestly, looking at his record, it doesn't seem like I am.
2951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Facts about gambling addiction on: November 26, 2021, 08:54:24 AM
3. It has been estimated that around 80 percent of the US population has gambled in their lifetime. Gambling can be done in various different ways and therefore is easy for people to access.
I'd reckon if you include life-making decisions (and the minor stuff you wouldn't really consider "gambling"), we all had done so, at least once in our lives. Even the simplest of decisions could be described as a gamble, just that the amount or price that you pay as well as the intensity of losing said price is lower or negligible compared to gambling (though really, I think gambling is the LOWEST of the prices there since it's money).

And that's what I saw on traditional based casinos, they drink and they smoke and then they gamble and lose because their decision making is very clouded by the substance that they are taking.

But there are some who doesn't have any addiction to any of the vices mentioned and yet they still become gambling addicts. Truly, gambling is really one of a kind, as we can't really control ourselves once we become addicted to it.
Well, gambling together with those vices has been related to each other since long ago. Gambling is a stress relief kind of thing most of the time, after all, so adding vices increases that feeling of "relief".
2952  Economy / Economics / Re: Can civilization revert to a barter system on: November 26, 2021, 04:42:10 AM
Barter was never really removed imo? There are still trades or exchanges that happen as long as the two parties agree to the trade afaik. Of course, it's to the small minority though. Still, I don't think it should be implemented again in the first place, though it being an alternative due to some extreme circumstances is a possibility. I reckon people would still prefer to use the centralized system that we have now rather than a barter system. The barter system imo, has more problems on its own after all compared to what we have right now and it probably looks like a pain to do compared to simple transactions we have now a days.
2953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: government's traditional laws can't handle Gambling+cryptos on: November 25, 2021, 03:15:39 PM
But I somehow feel like the government will again bend this down and make this the probelm of cryptocurrencies and not them.
Perfectly describes what most countries are doing with regards to crypto in general, heck even gambling imo. I can't blame them though, crypto suddenly just slammed to them like a few years ago, no one really expected much (from their side) when cryptos originally came out a decade ago. The government needs to regulate cryptos in general first before actually making specific regulations for crypto gambling, especially since they themselves don't even know where to put, in this case, sorare, be.
2954  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think does this Cities have that we dont? on: November 25, 2021, 10:24:12 AM
Hmm, probably the factor of being more advanced than others (minor part) and their spirit of innovativeness probably? (Major part). They also have plenty of space to support said innovativeness hence why they're pretty open to adopting crypto. There'd probably be more countries there tbh but their government is generally in denial of crypto development. Honestly, the concept of money makes the world go round couldn't be more apt, the more resources one country has the more chances they have to explore and innovate after all.
2955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Metaverse x Gambling on: November 25, 2021, 08:45:10 AM
AT this point "metaverse" is just a buzzword. It sounds cool and revolutionary, but 80% of the people don't know what it means or how it will look like.
I don't know what will make metaverse gambling better than the regular online gambling.
Maybe gambling will become more decentralized and the gamblers won't have to rely on centralized crypto/fiat casinos in order to gamble. The gamblers will own their chips/tokens and gambling will become more peer-to-peer.Casinos might become obsolete.I don't know whether this is going to be good or bad for the gambling industry.
All the casino owners won't be happy.
Combining play-to-earn games with gambling might seems like a good idea, but I still can't see a clear and precise business model around this idea.

At this point really it's just a vague idea of gambling that "might" be better than regular gambling (though honestly I agree with you, not knowing anything about how it would make it better than normal gambling). If it was decentralized we're looking for, I don't think the word metaverse suits it as something to describe what it would be. I don't even think the concept of gambling would be messed/replaced/changed with tbh, the core would still be that and they'd just be adding some side features here and there.
2956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NO..India is NOT Banning Bitcoin on: November 25, 2021, 04:05:48 AM
I guess this is them just doing proper regulations on their part for the sake of their citizens, and some people immediately took it in as them being negative about Bitcoin in general. Still, it is a negative connotation on Bitcoin as a currency imo, since India wouldn't exactly be banning transactions if it was actually better than fiat. Highly doubt they'd push for a complete ban out though, so it should only stay at this point till they're able to implement more regulations that could protect their citizens (or at least, educate them about the dangers of using crypto).
2957  Other / Off-topic / Re: BlueBorne Virus affects all bluetooth devices. Turn your bluetooth off! on: November 25, 2021, 02:28:41 AM
is this a new way hackers to steal data from a laptop or someone's mobile phone? how they do it when using bluetooth do not use internet access to send data to others. even a hacker can steal something from us that does not even access the internet at the time of submission?
I don't think it's a new way? Rather than calling it something that hackers made, it's instead (probably) a vulnerability that they were able to find and take advantage of (though tbh, most hacks are, the other being socially engineered instead of taking advantage of vulnerabilities). Well, I'd reckon a patch/fix is most likely in the way, so until then, you should simply follow and turn off Bluetooth. Hackers only take advantage of vulnerabilities or the gullibility of the user after all, so imo if you're clear on those two sides, you're pretty safe from being hacked (though honestly, we don't have control over the former since we use a lot of apps made by companies, and THEY are the ones responsible for managing the vulnerabilities)
2958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting superstitions. on: November 24, 2021, 04:51:28 PM
Scientifically it will really not work but for people to have confidence towards they do upon betting they do some rituals or the one you said  just to make their selves calm and have something to  rely regarding on what things they do. But I think there's nothing wrong with it since its really good to have something we believe can help us to win on gambling. But anyways its just a beliefs and not everyone will really take this seriously.
I mean everyone has different kinds of beliefs after all. Heck, if looked at a different perspective, a scientific approach to sports betting (relying on data, analysis, team composition, etc) and relying on superstitions are both types of belief. Now if one side doesn't believe in the other, well, that's just that right? I mean it's beliefs, after all, it'd be pretty odd if everyone just agreed on one belief, since each and every one of us has different types of belief we believe in. Really, just decide for yourself imo. It's YOUR belief after all.
2959  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Diversifying Your Portfolio in Crypto on: November 24, 2021, 11:06:32 AM
Still, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't diversify your portfolio. There would still be instances where a coin would go up (or down) regardless of what Bitcoin does after all. Plus assuming what you said always happens, then wouldn't it be the same if you invested in Bitcoin or diversified it? It'd go down nonetheless since as you said, it follows Bitcoin. Find some coins that you think could go premium, those coins would go up naturally even if it went down due to following Bitcoin, you'd still profit in the end imo.
2960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Childrens Wallets on: November 24, 2021, 07:15:22 AM
Just get a hardware wallet? Why even bother making a wallet in an exchange when you're going to use it to hodl and earn crypto for your children. It's not like they're going to use said coins to trade right now, or in the next few years even. You're just going to let the coins sit there for a long time, till at least when your children have grown old enough to handle their own finances, then you can give them said hardware wallet without any issues whatsoever no? Trezor would be one of the top choices imo.
