Philip, you've lost an ASIC on the 1st chain according to that pic. Try doing a cold reboot. Shut it off with the power switch and wait 10 seconds and then turn it on. I think the missing ASIC might come back.
yeah I see it below. I will go back and hard boot it. Have to say no hw's very nice gear. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FSnxwTdF.png&t=663&c=DcKbpaiRaSidgg) reboot worked. It could be the psu is meh, but the psu will not be shipped to europe . ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FmAsPgdk.png&t=663&c=xIiAb_YMGBJ75w)

this is from 419000 to 41999
while I slept we did blocks 34,35,36 >> 419792,419812,419819 slowing down here is number 37 >>> 419878 still 26 would be 'normal' luck and we are at 37 and still have 121 blocks to go.

Yet a little more off topic. Since I don't know jack about eth:
"So i bought 1 btc worth of eth back on the presale"
Can you explain what this means? What is/was "the presale"? I assume this means that you gave somebody 1 BTC, and they gave you N "Ethers"? You then took those N "Ethers" and got back more than 1 BTC after some period of time?
Thanks for the education (If it's OK with Phil on his thread)!
It is okay. The coin was launched via a pre-sale a while back more then a year ago. I am thinking he did very well on his purchase. 2000 x $10.50 = 20K 1337 x 10.50 = 14k Either number is good. maybe a 300-700 usd investment.

congrats to all that have made it this long. especially to those that can continue post halving. im really going to have to rethink this.. Been a great learning exp anyway:)
Yup for sure, congrats to those who keep it going. My gear has been shut off for a couple months due to summer heat, hopefully when it cools down later this year it will still be worth my time, effort, and $ to have a miner or two in the mix. Til then I'll just keep having fun with the R1 and gekko stick german fun runs. For me summer means a lot more of CFM's from fan's. During winter I am able to get away with much less, which is nice lower overhead. It has been pretty mild really for the most part where I am in the Midwest. I do expect having to change what miners are profitable for me, after it I'm guessing all need to be S9 to make sense but will run numbers after. I also dabble in Ether now for fun. Not sure if it will pay off as big as I would like but the chance to play with GPU's again was to hard to pass up. I expect them to be running for quiet a while. But price is really not doing bad 655 on coinbase. Will be an interesting week though to watch price. I just had one hell of a day.. So i bought 1 btc worth of eth back on the presale. I have been trying passwords since it got on exchanges. I think someone look out for me on this one cuz i would have lost out on thousands had i been able to sell early. Then i just let it go for a while ... even considered giving all i know to dave bitcoin to try to hack my password.. today while weeding my garden it dawned on me a variation of the password i hadnt tried.. low and behold that was it ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) .. And it couldnt have come at a better time.. get some shit paid off .. and now may even consider to buy an s9. just to keep a small foot in the game. I cant ever go as big as i had in past. turned out to burn me big time. Ahh what a day.. one hell of a way to spend the halving:). btw im only going to sell 1/4 now. but this makes me keep a much closer eye on eth now that i have a larger stake then just 420 mhs mining rig.. anyway sorry for the off topic. Think i may go have a drink. Best Regards d57heinz Have two drinks it was a good day for you. Just don't drive after the drinks ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Hello guys,do anyone here know's some old person's who actually make bitcoins by investing them or i dont know,by signature campaining ? I was wondering about it for some time,i just never heard about someone older than 45 years and making bitcoins.
I know more then ten on this forum. I am 59 myself. Lots of "old" people helped create the entire structure that BTC needs to exist. And at one time I used to think 59 was old. The number you are is a number. 1 to 120 is the range for us humans. If your mind works well and your body is not unhealthy you are not old. I have seen lots of 40 year guys that are shot and lots of 60 year guys in good shape.

I see a few knowing what mining is all about and a lot knowing jack about the BTC mining scene. The halving will have no effect what so ever and price will settle for some time in the range of 500-550$ before a new hype will push the price up to 800-1000$ each. There is western countries who pays less than 0,05 cents and they will keep expanding the farms. Its a gambling and noboddy will ever know the real future, but after Ethereums disaster we will see BTC make a hughe jump ahead of any other coins. Its not for fun that, Microsoft, Ebay, Amazon, Dell and other big players are adopting BTC....its here to stay and so is mining.
well said. Put it this way if you want to mine its all about electricity price... hence why you hear solar, hydro power its all about the price... where I am S7 will still be profitable after the halving at the current btc of $640 and will stay profitable for another 2 years if btc stays around 640... yes even with network difficulty jumps. do your math but $0.17 you out of the game already unless you invest and go solar.... $0.05- $0.08 you in the game but you will still have to transition to alternative power preferably your own solar setup which has a life span of about 20 years... so there ya go.. okay at ten cents at 3% diff jumps the s-7 loses out in 75 days after the jump earns about 0.02432 btc after ½ ing nine cents at 3% diff jumps the s-7 loses out in 119 days after the jumps earns about 0.06782 btc after ½ ing eight cents at 3% diff jumps the s-7 lose out in 175 days after the jump earns about 0.1362 btc after ½ ing seven cents at 3% diff jumps the s-7 lose out in 230 days after the jump earns about 0.2325 btc after ½ ing six cents at 3 % diff jumps the s-7 lose out on 299 days after the jump earns about 0.3607 btc after the ½ ing five cents 395 days .5255btc four cents 492 days .7369 btc so what you got 3 cent power?

Have you tested the rx-480s out at all? I'd be interested in knowing their Mkey/s with vanitygen or their hashrate. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I have not even opened a single 480 to play with yet. I am afraid if I do I will like it and then not want to sell them. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) do not open them. I may want a second sapphire ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Very easy to undervolt and handle the RX480 only using the WATTMAN,no need for additional tools. Set Voltage to Core and Memory BOOOOTH MANUAL,let memory default voltage 1000 and clock it to 2200. Then set frequencty to -15% and lower power states last 4 to 980,this is lowest you will get in gpu-z reading too,if you set lower than this you will get 1.0375 in Gpu-z. With these settings you should have 27-27.5 Mh/s and much lower power consumption and heat ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) yes and if you also use your pc for gaming like i do, you can make a special profile for the miner program and set the settings there instead of the global settings.. it will switch to those settings when you start mining and switch back to default when you stop. yeah wattman seems to be good enough.. At the moment I have 49mh at 270 watts for entire 2 card system. take 40 watts off for the pc I am at 230 watts for 49mh that is really good. there is only one window there is possibility for a bad airflow, you need to redirect everything from that window
but it is a nice room for mining indeed, you can stack there, a little farm
second set of windows ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FbGFOhOH.jpg&t=663&c=QbUsHrNV-7MeGQ)

I am little bit confuse that your share is Shares: 141,738,411,538 (66.42%) which is more then 51% then why your still working because i heard about 51% attack which is not good
66.42% of network diff which is 213398925331.323914 To follow up on our hash share of the network we are : 40ph of 1500ph or 40/1500 = 2.6666667 percent of the network I rounded actual as actual numbers vary a bit so we are about 2.5% to 3.1% of the network.

Try these settings with the RX 480:
Manual frequency to 950mhz Memory frequency stock at 2000mhz
Power limit -30% Undervolt all power by -100mv.
With these, each card gets a stable about 24mhs but the power consumption on my kilowatt reduced dramatically.
On a side note, has anyone been able to lower the memory frequency below 2000mhz? Wattman for some reason won't let me go below 2000mhz.
You didn't say how low it drop your wattage to per card? At stock, it was pulling around 1000 watts, after, around 700watts for 6x Rx 480 wow I am going to try that. wattman 2 cards now do 46mh but dropped the entire system down to 270 watts It is late I am tired and still have the kitchen on my mind. Due to my back and feet I had lino put in not tile. Went with Mannington platinum. Also kitchen is on second floor of a bi level home the circuit breaker box is underneath the kitchen. Lino does add more protection in a leak. the lino ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FF8C7sZw.jpg&t=663&c=yMhspTyM6rtPjA) cabinets are started ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FTO3WAGp.jpg&t=663&c=5eR41mHPAwtgsA)

Can somebody describe me the method of kano.is, why is it better than ant pool ?
Phillip did a great job of this in another thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1338693.0As to the payment method kano.is uses, that is explained by kano probably at least 100 times in this thread. when I wrote that up we were just under 500 blocks lifetime our lifetime avg was 104.22 % we are now just over 1100 blocks lifetime and our life time average is now over 107 percent which means we have been close to 110% luck. Basically if you can get a good ping on a kano.is server you need to mine here. 110 percent luck vs 100 percent luck . if you really get the math the only way we can be at 110% luck means all the effort of all other pools since i wrote it up are about 98.5% our great luck has pulled the entire rest of the network down 1.5% from the base line of 100%. our little 2.5-3.1 percent share of the network is so mother fucking luck we pull down the other 96.9 to 97.5% of the mining gears average. or to put it another way way aren't you mining on kano.is? think about it our 40ph at 110% pulls 1460ph down about 1.5% to 98.5%. pretty damn impressive.

Most people who I contacted about buying S7 gear from said they are waiting and seeing if the difficulty will drop, if it doesn't they will sell their S7 to me for cheap. If it drops or price goes up another 30%, they will keep mining with it.
Because right now with most hosting datacentres most people will end up breaking even with their power costs and no point in running them.
Not the greatest day to watch from high 670's to low 620's - http://www.coindesk.com/price/ . So we lost a little more then 50 dollars per BTC value. I'm wondering with halving so close some are selling hedging bet's. They might have waited to right before having and sold some. I personally am more interested in long term holding. So I really want to see price after halving, I think we will see some sell but hope we go up again overtime. I am buying as it drops and hope to see it dip under 600 Too late, going back to the 640s ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) expecting quick recovery, possibly going to be overbought as it rises or will just plateau at 650. Everybody saying the halving is going to raise the price SIGNIFICANTLY is wrong. It'll rise over time as demand continues at the pace it's going at, and supply becomes a bit weaker, but I don't really see any signs of BTC reaching 800 any time soon. With price going this low into the halving, I see a larger difficulty drop than I initially expected. Probably going to be - going into the week or 2 after the halving as people see the negative profit in their faces, and miners shut down. I only got .3 at 630 or so. Oh well.

mine got a little slower as well.. 45-46 instead of 47-49.. i think i found out why.. they seem to prefer the 1236 speed (state 6) instead of 1266 (state 7). im guessing if you just adjusted state 6 to 1266 you would get your speed back. oh and wattman still crashes if you leave it open for a long time ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) do you use claymore software?
