sure?

my Corsair AX860 is pulling 710 Watt @ the wall when running 3 Modules with 350Mhz so 4 Modules would be aprox 950 Watt!?
300MHz is fine with 595 Watt

thanks for that info Smiley

2966  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What USB hub should I get for USB miners? on: June 27, 2013, 09:10:31 AM
the anker 10 port 3.0 usb, it powers 10 hubs, tried and tested... does not work on a PI apparently

http://www.amazon.com/Anker%C2%AE-Uspeed-10-Port-Adapter-Chipset/dp/B005NGQWL2

i prefer the black

does not work *directly*, but if I have a 5-port hub with 5 ankers attached, it *should* work, no?

really don't know..... i never got round to setting them up on my PI, but i had 8 anker hubs with 76USB's attached to my laptop at one point Smiley

ANKER hubs can take 10 USB's easy

how would this be done with avalons?
2969  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 08:32:44 PM

yeah i ordered some 860 platinum
2970  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 08:01:27 PM
The overclocking blew out my power supply.  My "silver" unit had an Antec Green 650W power supply.  I ran to the store and they had a Corsair 800W and I got it working again.

was it easy enough to upgrade the PSU? I have 3 corsair 860w platinum arriving later this week

Hi.

I've uploaded a new firmware with the about-to-be-released cgminer 3.3.1 with 2 new features which I hope you'll like:

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/avalon/20130626/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

--avalon-auto       Adjust avalon overclock frequency dynamically for best hashrate
--avalon-cutoff <arg> Set avalon overheat cut off temperature (default: 60)

this is in addition to the existing options:

--avalon-options <arg> Set avalon options baud:miners:asic:timeout:freq
--avalon-temp <arg> Set avalon target temperature (default: 50)

my batch 2 did not enjoy any of that a constant rate of 129mh/s..... all discarded.

can anyone link me to a site where i can get fan upgrades in the EU?
2978  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 08:40:04 AM
I just think the blue fan is a bit shit........all three of my batch one blue fans could run a bit better
2979  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 07:57:44 AM
yeah i imagine it is to do with the stock PSU, I am away to order 3 750w gold corsair's today, so maybe by the end of the week i will have them all upgraded.

going to get some fan upgrades also....
2980  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 07:39:53 AM
So I thought I'd make it easy for everyone to try the latest cgminer 3.3.0 and overclock settings all rolled into one, so here is a firmware with the overclock settings settable from the web interface:

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/avalon/20130624/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

Note that I have donation settings in the configuration so if you do not use your own config settings, it will start mining for me until you change them.

Usual warnings apply with aggressive overclocking: do so at your own risk!

Enjoy  Wink

tried running the modded firmware on my btach 1's just to see if running the fanz on MAX(not above 300mhz) would make the units cooler/more efficient...... the fan with the blue light just jams when i try this though, it obviously has issues with going at max speed
