2961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: lose money by swapping a fake coin in uniswap on: November 06, 2020, 02:00:43 PM
Swap a fake coin and lose money is bad but worse is with DeFi tokens you will end with losses at the ends. I don't join any DeFi tokens as an investors. Don't join their pools because I don't have a single minor belief on their smart contracts.

If I see good price to entry and enjoy bounces I will join and get cash out minutes or a few hours later.

I would be a lucky person if you get to give Merit, as this is my 30th post, enough to meet your minimum requirement.
I hope my luck will be met. You are truly a generous person.

I tested to create my wallet (do it with Tor)

- Create account
- Set up mnemonic passphrase (choose create encoded mnemonic)
- Get 24 mnemonic seeds
- Enable 2FA (or skip and create wallet).
- Save 4 codes to unlock wallet (if 2FA is lost).
- Finish.

- Login wallet
- Create BTC wallet: 2 types of wallet Segwit address (3) or Segwit native address (bc1). Only 2 types and there is no wallet for Legacy address.

Is the HEX in this image? If HEX team use 10 BTC to run campaign it will be a long campaign.

Andreas Antonopoulos: Hex Team Offered Me 10 BTC to Speak Well of Their Token

Quote
Andreas Antonopoulos says he was offered 10 BTC for an interview with the objective to show that Hex is not a scam. The alleged offer comes as Hex proponents battle persistent Ponzi allegations. Antonopolous, an influential cryptocurrency advocate, also reveals the offer was on condition he does not disclose this inducement.

Thank you for your help and 2 merit I got from you.

It is my head up.

I really think it can be better if your rule is modified a little. Apply with posts or topics of other members don't show contributions of people who applied in your sendable merit topic. It is your topic, your rule, just my head up.

There are many topics in [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source
or in [GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread (until there is a dedicated subforum?)
or they can pass by any board and choose random topics with some merits.

Thank you.

KYC on exchanges or to join bounties are bad for privacy too.
Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless

2971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to cheat with Bitcoin! be careful on: November 02, 2020, 06:08:10 AM
Recently, I have seen various messages on social networks such as WhatsApp and Instagram that promise you a short-term profit of 400% bitcoin.
400% short-term profit and all these things are theft and be careful.
Where is the source of messages? Would you mind sharing them, please.

400% short-term profit is very high and I only see the profit claim from PONZI. If anyone invite me to join group with profit claim at 10 to 20 % each month, I can consider to participate. 400%, no I don't look at it.

2975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Energy Consumption Myths on: November 01, 2020, 02:35:08 PM
People only talk about the energy consumption from mining rigs and other equipments in mining farms but they don't talk about energy consumption from bank systems. Energy will be consumed by national central banks (in buildings, for staffs - ventilation, air conditioners, ...) or money printing factories. Maybe more things will consumed energy.

I don't know bitcoin network or bank systems consume more energy. I think bitcoin network consumes less energy because things are confirmed online and require less sources for human, staffs, buildings, offices, and other things need energy or electricity.
2976  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Engagement on the Zero/Low-value post. on: November 01, 2020, 01:28:35 PM
Back to where merit system comes from. It plays as ranking restrictions on shit posters. If you don't send merit to shit posters, they will never rank up.

If you see their zero/ low-value posts, report it.
If you see they plagiarisim, report it.
If less shit posters rank up, there will be less drama.
2977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Energy Consumption Myths on: November 01, 2020, 08:54:28 AM
Myth Two: It will only get worse

It is opposite from that, and Bitcoin will probably burn less electricity in the future.
There will be total of 21 million Bitcoins, and every four years there is reward halving, and after the last halving, it is now 6.25 BTC.
In order to burn the same amount of electricity, the price of bitcoin must double in dollar value every four years.
The energy consumption is from total mining rigs are used to mine bitcoin and confirm bitcoin transactions. It depends on network hashrates and not depend on block reward. If the hashrate is the same next 12 years, the energy consumption from all active bitcoin mining rigs will be the same as of now.

I don't catch their myth why bitcoin price has to double in dollar because of halving and if it happens, the energy consumption will be the same for each 4 years. Their opinion is a myth.
2978  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NOTES when bringing articles to the forum -Newbies,Low-rank- on: November 01, 2020, 08:18:13 AM
It is what I think of

If you see a post looks lengthy and have good information but at end of it, poster leaves a source to a newsletter article, will you send merit to a poster?

Think:
- Fill up weekly post quota
- Try to copy & paste & source to earn merit
- Does a poster write about own opinion and discussion on the newsletter article?

I think about it after I see that topic and many newsletter article sharing posts were meritted and see another topic If you received a merit ...

They don't use Search and with one article or news there are bunches of topics will be created here for discussions.

I joined BTT for nearly 1 year but mostly do Bounty programs. I still do not understand what merit is and how to get merit to be able to get up the ranks on BTT. Is there a Pro who can guide me.Thank you!!
Your question was answered by Rikafip yesterday. Your post was deleted and I think it was deleted by a report as spam by someone.

Did you read the answer of Rikafip?

Why did you make another copy paste of deleted post?

You won't get a merit by doing this. Sorry.

What happened?  Shocked

Please read some posts before, the creator was banned by plagiarism. The OP is a copy-paste and the discussion can be ended.

<snip>
That is how it should be a member should encourage other members to learn more about bitcoin by motivating in any ways. I think @OP had a good start here in the forum and hopefully it will continue throughout the journey of his cryptocurrency endeavors.

Well, good luck to OP but I guess not only to OP but to all who wishes stay more for good about cryptocurrency.
You did not care to read the last post in this topic before you made your post.  Huh
