Encrypting your wallet when not in use is no protection as you have to decrypt to use it. Trojans lie in wait until an unencrypted wallet.dat is found, and some also have keyloggers to steal your password. I have been preaching bitcoin hardware wallets for a year now to encourage using Trezor or Ledger to move private keys off your laptop or phone. Once you have your bitcoin stolen you will become a believer.
Harware wallets are also not the ultimate solution, they can protect you against virtual theft but not against physical theft. If a robber robs you with a gun and sees your hardware wallet he will force you to reveal your pasword. This case will probably be more frequent in the future than virtual trojans sneaking on your PC. Once criminals learn abotu bitcoin, it will be more frequent than mobile phone thefts. So hardware wallets may not be the best solution.

RealBitcoin spoke about price of bitcoins expressed in fiat money. If you mean prices (of just about anything) expressed in bitcoins then you are speaking about price deflation. This means that some consumers will hold off some of their spending. Whether this is bad or good thing can not be decided. It depends where you put boundary between responsible saving and selfish hoarding. And where you put boundary between "only the best goods and investments should survive" and "economy and investment should be stimulated by gradually destroying value of people's money (bitcoins) and forcing them to spend and support consumption".
Think about situations and goods where prices go down (computers, smartphones, ...). Is it a healthy market? Would it be healthy market if prices went down much faster?
Hoarding = Insurance. It is never evil to have supplies and reserves that could be used in an emergency. Stupid keynesians wants us to have 0$ in our pocket and constantly take loans after loans. Its an evil economic theory. I rather prefer to have 1 mountain of gold than to have 0$ in my pocket.

iCE is coming from the perspective that CO2 hasn't increased to the extent that it is in any way accountable for recent measurable temperature variations; I'm inclined to agree, +0.01% increase really isn't much, desert fringes become less marginal as plants survive better on increased CO2 density, arrogant humans say "save the planet" when they mean "save the planet so we can keep living there" etc etc
Talking about global warming The funny thing is that usually politicians only care about 4 years into the future, yet when it comes to climate, they all care about what will happen in about 500,000 years. What a double standard.

There is no correlation between the forum action and the price. There are too many spam posts. The results will not be accurate.
And that doesnt influence the sentiment of the reader? I i just wrote " bitcoin is cool" , it may be a spam post, but it could make people think positively about bitcoin. So all posts have influence.

Let's say that these pictures are all plastic blocks coated in Nordic Gold coating (which is used on Euros) - Copper 87%, Aluminium 5%, Zinc 5%, Tin 1% , they look exactly the same as gold bars, would that still make you feel charming?
Yes, because I have no way of knowing that the gold is fake until I use an ultrasound machine on it, or weight it (plastic would weight much less). Or you can just simply scratch the bar and see if shaves off or not. Gold testers do this all the time when they sell a gold bar at places to cash in. If it's deep enough it is hard to scratch. They can have 0.5 cm to 1 cm coat of gold around a wolfram/lead alloy bar, it would weight the same if it's mixed correctly, so the only way to detect it is if you measure the density by either using some liquid or an ultrasound machine. Atleast bitcoin is fungible

So yesterday was NXT's 2nd birthday? It is cool, i am here for only 1 year, and saw NXT grow big in the meantime. It was on my watchlist since last december And to tell you the truth i`m quite surprized how much it grow in the last year in terms of development and features. Its by fast the most innovative and feature-rich crypto out there.

Is it coincidental that within hours ALL of them have been *slowly* bought @0.097 and the price still remains the same? Someone's is certainly spreading fud and wants some cheap coins... I'd buy if I were you. Yea probably some pump and dump scheme, there are many shills on this forum. I`m not into LTC right now, but you are right, ltc could go up.

Interesting website, never saw it before. Looks like there were many attempts at NXT, most of them turned out to be scams. But nothing beats the original, GO NXT!

You are wrong my first fact is indeed correct.
Any proof of your wild claims or just magic internet knowledge? Depositing money and paying back debt are different things and classified under different regulations. Paying back a loan is called deleveraging on a system whole.
I dont think you fully understand how money works in todays world. Best for you to step back and reassess your situation here, or read my initial post.
Empty post, instead of addressing my points you just talk empty things in the air. Where exactly is my explanation faulty? Do you deny the fact that money is double accounted in the current system? The fact that money is in circulation and everytime a bill hits a bank node it gets multiplied like bacteria when hitting sugar? Please be more specific or dont post, because saying that I`m wrong without telling where am I wrong is nonsense

Another 2 weeks passed, inflation down only 0.01%, it is decreasing very slowly. It would be nice to modify the mining algo and set the halving dates farther.

The leaderboard prize is an incentive to play on SatoshiDice, but its house edge is pretty high compared to other dice sites. It's good for investors, but not for players.
They also don't really NEED advertising as they're one of the oldest gambling sites established for Bitcoin. (Though, it's also good to have some marketing)
That is why they need promo because only the old players know satoshidice, the new ones +2014 onward rarely know it. I think a marketing campaign can be very useful for satoshidice.

I have a question about Satoshidice's promotion.
There is 1800 BTC house profit for Satoshidice, so does Satoshidice spend money on advertising and marketing, does it allocate some of it's profits in a marketing fund for promotion?
Depends on what do you mean by promotions as well. Just because you never see their banner doesnt mean that they dont actually have banner any where else. In fact they do have promotions of 0.4 / day divided for each of 4 their leaderboard of the day if you check closely I`m not saying they dont have any marketing at all, I`m saying their marketing is very low profile, and other casinos far outmarket them. The leaderboard prize is more like a prize not a promotion tool. Buying ads and advertising Sdice on faucet pages is more to what I refer to as promotion.I`m sure there are many gamblers that await to play here but they dont know about Sdice yet.

Everyone did? I didn't nor did anyone I know who got into bitcoin. Most people are smart enough to know that even faucets are a waste of time or they soon realize it, though I'm not disputing they don't get people involved with bitcoin or get them their first coins which is still a good thing.
I knew that they would not pay me out, but I tried by promoting my referral links. It worked for a while but its still minuscule profits, althought I have seen guys that make 0.05/day from affiliates on autopilot. Of course we dont know how much they spent on advertising, so they could be in minus. But its doable if you have money and patience to invest.

There is 1800 BTC house profit for Satoshidice, so does Satoshidice spend money on advertising and marketing, does it allocate some of it's profits in a marketing fund for promotion? It seems to me that every site I went to, I have seen many ads about casinos. I`ve seen almost all major bitcoin casinos advertised, but I haven't seen so far a single Satoshidice ad. Satoshidice doesnt even have a signature campaign. It's really a pity because other casinos will take over in terms of both volume and nr. or users. It would be nice to see if Satoshidice would promote itself, since there are many advertising options available for bitcoin. I don't think new bitcoin users (from 2014 to today) know about Satoshidice, because the other casinos just way overpromote themselves. I think it would be nice to see Satoshidice have more promotions and marketing, it needs more gamblers because sometimes it feels lonely to gamble there as rarely more than 3 people gamble there at once. Perhaps some sort of integrated chatbox would be a good idea to to make the site more social
