I want to know metrics, daily uniques, how much profit were you taking on the site?

As a tip, 95% of the world population can use a mobile phone... that does not mean they are bright enough to understand the underlying technology or its implications.(a point which you admirably illustrate without the slightest exertion)

When you grow up, you will realize it is about traceability and audit-ability not about how easy one person finds a site to use.
Go look up "single entry bookkeeping" & "double entry bookkeeping" as an example of what I am talking about.

I know what single entry and double entry bookkeeping are, really it isn't hard to make a spreadsheet for this, as I have done I will sell you my excel template for 100BTC.

2964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Mt Gox Api gives error after ~6 hours on: December 25, 2012, 06:55:59 AM
So I started rewriting my trading bot to be optimized and to implement new trading strategies, so I thought at first that it was cause I was getting the USD and BTC funds in my account then executing a trade and that I had a web socket connection open all at the same time. Then I rewrote the entire way I handle Mt Gox so I can make 2 calls back to back almost every 25 seconds (to be in the 10 seconds window so I am not caught by anti-DDOS measures), then I am only checking USD and BTC funds during startup, after a trade but after my open orders close. But it is always hitting this wall at 6 hours and needs to be turned off for a while before being startup right now it is all simulations (no trade is actually going thru) but I need to fix this before turning on for a live trading. Any help?

P.S.  I don't want to shut it down and restart it, with weird cron scripts, this is written in java

Currently its all over the F**ing place.

If you are going to run a financial service, then at least FOLLOW good accountancy practices.

They will get right on it now, LMAO People in this thread are retarded, I read this and get stupider from it LMAO

Then feel free to read it a few more times, perhaps you can attain a level where you can breed with the other pond-scum that inhabit these waters.

Actually I don't want to get so dumb where I can't use a simple site like you LMAO
2966  Bitcoin / Press / 2012-12-21 Satoshi Nakamoto, named one of the most dangerous people on: December 22, 2012, 03:11:15 AM
http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/12/more-dangerous/

While it was user voted I don't get why he is dangerous?

Satoshi Nakamoto. The pseudonymous creator of the Bitcoin digital cryptocurrency has seemingly disappeared into the shadows, but his invention lives on with potential to disrupt the powers-that-be. What happens when crooks can move money effortlessly online, without ever being traced? We might soon find out.

I just see lies...
2967  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin, help with wallet program? on: December 22, 2012, 02:44:13 AM
Obviously your not understanding,
Clearly.

. . . I think those people should NOT be using bitcoin at this point.
And I disagree.

Why do you disagree? You do know SPV clients are very weak in some situations of bitcoin.

Which are?

So many, like not validating blocks them selfs, which leads them to use the block depth as a way to validate transactions have gone thru when that isn't true. Also double spending attack is a lot easier with a SPV client.

http://code.google.com/p/bitcoinj/wiki/SecurityModel.

There is a reason that SPV is the main client or should be endorsed as a main only client.
2968  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CIYAM Open - a new way to develop web apps and fund open source projects on: December 22, 2012, 12:45:43 AM
Looks like it still needs some work... shouldn't be happening on 12800 X 800 screen.
2969  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin, help with wallet program? on: December 21, 2012, 08:46:55 PM
- A bunch of ranting about alternate wallets removed for bevity -
All wallets (including the reference client Bitcoin-Qt) have weaknesses and drawbacks.  This doesn't mean that they don't also have strengths and benefits as well.  What is needed is good education about the options available so that users can make educated decisions.  The users and the community do not benefit from hiding the fact that other wallet options exist and refusing to talk about them.

There isn't hiding, but full nodes need to be publicized more they are what keeps the network healthy, and not these programs that are meant to be run along sided a full node.
2970  Economy / Services / Re: Rent-a-Friend from 1BTC per week [updated] on: December 20, 2012, 05:35:03 PM
for 10btc I will teach how to get a friend, cause I am a big believer in "To give a man a fish you feed him for a night, but buy a mana a fishing rod and he will sell it and buy a fish!"

Corrected that for you!!
I am still greedy LMAO
2971  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there an asset tracking software that supports Bitcoin? (Better than GnuCash) on: December 20, 2012, 11:40:32 AM
Why doesn't anyone start a bounty I mean for 200+ btcs I could write an accountant software. I would also need a list of features, it shouldn't be too hard.

Why not just fork GnuCash and add BTC support?

Cause people are going to want it connected it there bitcoin-qt client or any client that can export the transactions. I feel to do it right just start from scratch.
2972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: zero transaction fee payments on: December 19, 2012, 07:01:45 PM
No you can't add a fee after the fact. It depends on the miner and the block and what other transactions need to be added to the block. Some of my 0-fees take 10mins and some take an hour I never had any go over an hour.
2973  Economy / Services / [WTB] Small VPS on: December 18, 2012, 07:16:22 AM
Ok so I have custom software (I wrote it) I need to run on a VPS cause it is written in java. It will not use any database, bitcoind or webserver. I would like to use Ubunut 12.04. I know I could go to a Web host and get one, but then they come with extras I don't need.

I don't need a static IP
There will hardly be any bandwidth
I don't need that much disk space, maybe 10gb at most
I don't need a domain

All I need is SSH access
I would like 100mbps internet connection
1gb of ram
512 swap
2 CPU cores

I would like to get this for ~1.5BTC

If you want more information about it or can help, PM me
2974  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What is the best Bitcoin client? on: December 18, 2012, 03:51:42 AM
It really depends for what you use bitcoins for and what works for you. I use bitcoin-qt and armory, they help me get what I want done the best.

Just let the blockchain download it really isn't that bad.
2976  Other / Meta / Re: Important topics - Add to a Master Sticky in each forum - Proposal on: December 17, 2012, 12:06:57 AM
I think this would make the first page of the topic, just a bunch of stickies so I vote bad, maybe someone can create a page that will house links to them, or add them to the wiki, but just sticky them it will be crowd so fast.
2977  Other / Off-topic / Re: [POLL] Do you have a college degree? on: December 16, 2012, 07:06:48 PM
I am on my way to getting a degree, but I also get contacted a lot to drop out of school and help startups, thru my github, thru my school, and thru bitcoin projects. I always turn them down, just cause I want my degree first then I will worry about jobs.

if done right you will not have to worry about if your server is managed by a third party
Go and tell that to Linode users Wink

Those wallets were unencrypted so yea I will tell the linode user, they didn't do it right.
2979  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PHP Wallet on: December 15, 2012, 07:01:10 PM
Can somebody please explain bitaddress.org? I see it generates addresses. Couldn't I just use their source to allow my webhost (heck, even a free one!) to generate an address whenever a user signs up, and save in a DB somewhere that bitcoin address and the private key? Then when I want to spend bitcoins, I just import the private keys into my local machine and POOF, tons of coins?

And also, one more thing, how do I import the private key into my wallet? Do I just copy it into wallets.dat? (My wallets.dat file is encrypted, so I doubt that would work).

Thanks!

there is a
Code:
importprivkey <bitcoinprivkey> [label]
command

remember to unlock your wallet first
2980  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PHP Wallet on: December 15, 2012, 04:46:49 AM
running bitcoind on a server manged by a third party is a HUGE security risk.

This is true, but if done right, you shouldn't have anything worried about. I usually setup a frontend server and a backend bitcoind vps which allows it be off of any nmap attacks or any probes. But linux security and bitcoind security if done right you will not have to worry about if your server is managed by a third party, back up the wallet to your personal computer just so you can get your funds if they do shutdown your server.
