I doubt if Amazon would dip their payment feet into Bitcoin soon, because of two reasons. 1. They have a strong partnership with PayPal and Credit card companies and they will not jeopardize that relationship. 2. Bitcoin are not acknowledged as a "currency", but rather as a commodity, so the legal issues and accounting problems will be significant, if they experiment with payment options that are not defined as a currency. We might see more merchants accepting Bitcoin as a payment option, as soon as regulators sort out the regulation regarding Crypto currencies and the definition of currencies.  They have strong partnership with credit card companies, not with paypal, they don't accept it but rarely have some relationship for some reasons. Amazon's aim is promoting amazon payments but accepting of crypto won't ruin their plans. Problem is that there is not so massive demand and refund system seems difficult task in this situation. Personally I don't want to see amazon accepts bitcoin for some reasons but will be glad if some ebates similar companies will offer me bitcoin/altcoin payments. Still, bitcoin wasn't meant to have huge demand. |

My brother-in-law is one of these idiota's - Let me explain.
I was all about telling him to buy into some BTCBTC when it was sub $300 back like 3 years ago. Just buy 1 or 2 I said - Whats $500?
He said NO, NO, NO - Not for me. So I left him alone about it.
Then come last year - When Bitcoin hit $15k - Guess what? He Buys In! *at the time I did a quick facepalm* Seriously buys in after it pumps some 50x...
Anyways - Long story short - He lost like $5k after the collapse and he sold.
Now a couple months back, I was suggesting that $3.5k bitcoin might be a good time to get in again and redeem his loses... Figuring it's like 1/4th the price he originally bought at.
And he says... "NO, NO, NO. Not for me - I learned my lesson"
No Dumb-Ass... You didn't learn shit!
Why is it - that people are so ready to buy AFTER it pumps 50X - And then cry or call BTC a scam after they lost their ass?
But won't touch BTC once it stabilizes after a collapse?

Stupid thing was when I was spending bitcoins like nothinf when price was playing between 1000-3000 usd but don't blame myself much because at that moment people 1000$ surpass was a done impossible thing and had no hope of further rise. Btw in your story, problem is truth and people in bitcoin act that way. They don't trust you when price is low but when they see price rises and rises for a long period, then they are becoming confident and invest but in reality they are choosing the worst time and lose money + lose confidence to risk in future. |

There were a lot of opinions posted but still I want to include my own one, don't know if something similar was posted:
1. Nothing good - in overall, what's the ratio of stores accept visa/master card compared to stores that only accept cash? (nothing to talk about bitcoin). Believe me, there are far more people who can't use visa/master card (online banking) and if we turn into cryptocurrencies, there will be chaos.
2. Unpredictable Economy - one day your money can buy galaxy s9, another day - it can't (bad example I know). But on another hand can be a little helpful for very small countries if they put some percent of their budget in bitcoin because possible rise can boost their economy but also price fall can affect them.

Despite the fact that thread is old and I don't like posting in very old threads, I consider to answer you. School isn't place of bank services. Give your children some cash, even visa/mastercard isn't great choice because they may lose card or etc. I have no idea why do you have to push your children to use bitcoin. Also there are possibilities your child will download something that contains malwares (especially if he/she owns android) and once your bitcoins are gone, you can't return them. Also they don't need further research of bitcoin in teen ages. |

Bitcoin has dumped that much so quickly and can say the absolutely opposite, it has risen up very quickly too, by 4k in one week when there was old good times of rising from 600 usd to 20k. There is no way bitcoin will be 100$ one day, if that happens, believe me, this coin will be dead even if giving up on mining won't kill before. |

What do we have to hate there, you are thinking very logically but to my mind bitcoin's price is a little bit far from logic. I highly doubt there will be so big fall because: At first we got out from 3K price to 5K which is a great achievement and to my mind it reduced negative thoughts in people, 2nd - today's fall doesn't mean much and I think this time a lot more people will invest in btc rather than those who missed it recently.

Overally your service is just analogue of current available ones. If you want to just keep website live ans it's created for non profit interests, then great work but for profit, better to add unique questions. For example reminder for users when overall btc fee decreases or rises significantly.

I want to ask everyone who got into bitcoin towards the end of 2017 and is currently at a loss, like myself  What will you do when the market goes up and you get your money back. Sell or just keep holding? Very, very curious. There is no doubt bitcoin will surpass current price and as you state, all time high means currently any price higher than 20K usd. So if you have plan it's even more curious, why the hell will you invest in bitcoin when price will exceed 20k? Any idea? If you are extremalist, then yeah, buy at 20K and plan how to avoid going bankrupt when price starts to fall. |
