I just watched the highlights of PSL and Rashid Khan played outstanding with the ball he just gave away 9 runs in 4 overs and with the bat took the team to victory.
It was amazing performance from Rashid Khan. In T20 format, if you concede 30-32 runs, then it is considered as economical. And yesterday, Rashid conceded just 9 runs from his 24 balls! He is just getting impossible to play (and let's not forget that he took the most important wicket of Hussain Talat). And when he batted, it was the other way around. 16 runs were needed from the last over and he scored 12 runs from the first three balls. After that, it was just a formality with Tim David scoring the necessary runs. @Sithara007 there’s no doubt about Rashid Khan talents, because he’s an exceptional player and would have been a legend of this game if he was playing from the top 5 or top 10 countries. If you looked at the possibilities and chances for Chelsea to become champions, you would have been rich by now. Still, you kind of saw this coming. In the semi-final against Real Madrid they were 2x much better and they should have won 2x big. And I read that they had already won 3 of the last 4 head-to-head matches against Man City. Chelsea is better than many people think. Of course it also has to do with the trainer. Last year CL final with PSG and now the title with Chelsea.

I think if Guardiola had followed a new strategy, maybe Manchester City could have won the final. We all know the main strategy of the Chelsea team is counterattack. And they have scored counterattacks in almost all of the matches Chelsea have won against the big teams. And similarly in the final they scored from counterattack and became champions. Guardiola should have resorted to new tactics to resisted this counterattack. He didn’t need new tactics, he had to put proven players and not change the team system they played most of the matches. Guardiola always comes up with something new in important matches and constantly loses. Until he changes that rule, he will not be able to win the Champions League. What I never understand about Guardiola's tactics is that he almost always plays with a very consistent tactic all the way to the quarter and semifinals and is extraordinarily successful with it. But then he suddenly starts changing these tactics again and again in important matches, although there is no real reason. He would certainly be more successful internationally if he followed his tactics to the letter and didn't keep trying something new. To me, the reason for the change of tactics is not really obvious, except that he is looking for the element of surprise. @tyz for all the great work he’s done as a coach this final shall always haunt him, because all he had to do was put up his regular playing 11, but for some weird reason he decided to experiment and it completely backfired. Yay so Wijnaldum isn't coming to Barca after all. Again don't get me wrong I think he's a really solid player and the few times I saw him play, he does hold very well but definitely not fast enough of passer to be in current setup or style. England are the overwhelming team here of course. I see Croatia as away from their old performance. But who knows, maybe they can make a much greater effort in this tournament. That is a dream I guess, I have not head anything now. There were some news about adding cricket in Olympics last year. If it happens it will be in next Olympic. ICC and other powerful board must support this cause. If it gets added then many countries will start adopting cricket.
There was a chance to apply for Olympic inclusion, but the ICC refused to do that for the 2028 Olympics. The next opportunity would come at 2032. It is very unfortunate. Actually it was Jagmohan Dalmiya who first attempted to get cricket included in the Olympic Games. He was aiming for the 2012 Olympics, but before he could achieve his objective he was thrown out as the ICC president. After that for almost 15 years the ICC and BCCI was under the control of the mafia. Two precious decades have been lost and in terms of popularity cricket has lost out to smaller sports such as hockey and rugby in the meantime. @Vishnu.Reang I doubt we’ll ever see cricket in Olympics, because the big teams will not allow their revenues to be split by participating in Olympics. Great news coming in for the supporters of the globalization of cricket. During yesterday's general meeting, the ICC has decided to increase the number of teams in both ODI and T20 World Cup. From the next rights cycle (2023-31) onwards, the ODI world cup (2027 and 2031) will feature a total of 14 teams, while the T20 World Cup will witness the participation of 20 teams. However the 2023 ODI World Cup will be limited to 10 teams. T20 World Cups for the next rights cycle are scheduled for - 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030. @Sithara007 I’m happy for those teams that’ll get a chance to participate in the World Cup, because World Cup is a precious tournament and I can understand why they wanted to be a part of it. However I don’t think many player’s will be happy, as it’ll increase their playing time, and I’m keen to know what the player’s think of this new format. |

Italy Turkey i am curious Italy's opponents are relatively easy. The teams are weaker than Italy. But Turkey and Switzerland are not very easy opponents. Italy could lose points with these two teams. So in these two matches, Italy must play carefully. It may look so on paper but it will be difficult for Italy to lose points to Switzerland or Turkey.Switzerland is not what it used to be and Turkey although has beaten Netherlands this does not mean anything because Italy players compared to Turkey players are of a much higher quality and the Serie A where most players of Italy play is much stronger than many of the leagues where Turkey players play.I think Italy if it plays full power will get full points from this group. @swogerino you’re indeed right to say that Italy can win their games with ease, because they’re a rejuvenated team and they’re hungry for success.
