2981  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinAverage.com - independent bitcoin price on: December 03, 2013, 12:11:23 AM
Please quote prices in mBTC, not BTC. BTC is a thing of the past, we need to adopt mBTC. BitcoinAverage.com is very influential, please be the leader!

At the moment of writing:

Mtgox $1.092
Bitstamp $0.978
BTC-e $0.898

This should be by default, as bitcoin newbies would be unlikely to change the default.

Don't think we are that influential Smiley yet the proposition is compelling. Hmm, not sure though, it's a rather controversial issue. I'll need to think a little more about this and possible side effects, I see reasons for both ฿ and m฿.
Are there any noticeable public discussions or polls on this matter I could review?

Alex at BitcoinAverage.

I vote m฿! ฿ was the past. Soon it'll be hard to get satoshi!
2982  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Help test next major release of Armory! [0.04 BTC/bug] on: December 03, 2013, 12:07:32 AM
I just updated the list on the first post.   I think that covers everything.  I have basically ignored any OSX issues since that was completely hosed.  Hopefully we'll get an OSX build going, after the conference.

If you are on the list, please PM me with payment address and specify if you are okay with me sending one transaction with multiple outputs to everyone receiving a bounty.

BTW:  a lot of these bugs will actually be fixed in 0.91-beta.  I didn't perceive most of them to be showstoppers for 0.90.  It was the showstopping bugs that I was looking for that would make for an embarrassing release...

Thanks everyone for helping out!  If you continue bug-hunting in 0.90, and find new bugs, feel free to post here and I'll honor the bounty up to the limit I originally specified.

No problem, I had fun!
2983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: .1 BTC to anyone who can fix my wallet on: December 03, 2013, 12:05:38 AM
I have 3 unconfirmed transactions. One is over 20 days old! I need these to go through or returned to me.

It's been running for days. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling bitcoin-qt on different computers. As far as I know there is no private key (still not sure what that is or how to generate one).

Offering .1 Bitcoin (obo) to anyone who can fix so I can move these funds to online wallets such as btc-e and coinEX:

2984  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Deposited my life savings to CaVirtex, Fund frozen and no response for weeks! on: December 02, 2013, 11:50:32 PM
CaVirtex is one of the largest exchanges in Canada. I just listened to an interview on LetsTalkBitcoin with the CEO. It's probably just a misunderstanding, have you tried contacting them again?
2985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: what wallet to use? on: December 02, 2013, 09:40:52 PM
i just dont like the idea of that you need to redeem your coins before each use.

A lot of times I think the same thing, but we have to think of Bitcoin in the long term.
2986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: The best bitcoin client on: December 02, 2013, 09:37:50 PM
Thx for your reply! I should have checked the wiki before posting this thread!

I have a Mac so Armory is out of the question as long as they don't support Mac, besides that the 6gb disk space is pretty huge!

So I think multibit is and stays the best option for now. Thank you!

They have Armory for OSX.
2987  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Help test next major release of Armory! [0.04 BTC/bug] on: December 02, 2013, 08:52:52 PM
My apologies guys.  I've been swamped with the new release, and preparing for the conference next week.  I'll spend some time today going through and tallying up how many people get bounties.  If you believe you get a bounty, please PM me your address and let me know if you are okay with a single outgoing payment with all recipients at once.  I prefer to reduce blockchain bloat, but I'm also okay with it if privacy is important to you.

No problem, I was just curious, no rush. PMed

Is there any ETA about when the Bounty will be paid out?

Did you have to put them in those small amounts? Tongue  Thanks anyways, They ran out fast >.>

Daily Bitcoins has given me the ability to bulk import codes. I can input up to 200 at a time.

FYI: It wasn't me who grabbed them  Tongue

2992  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I've been thinking about writing a book on Bitcoin doomsday scenarios... on: December 02, 2013, 03:00:33 PM
What about making this a community work? Everybody who wants writes a chapter while there's still room and proceeds are shared in some way or another? I'd rather not write a whole book but a few chapters would be perfect for my schedule.
This is in line with what I was envisioning and would be especially doable with the website, where consistency can vary a little more. If I'm still interested when the Let's Talk Bitcoin transcription project is done and nobody else goes ahead with this, I think I'll give a more clear outline and get some type of submission/editing system together.

The site could include some fun cross-overs for paranoid schizophrenics. There could be a "Spot the Fed" section where people post images and videos of federal agents in Bitcoin conferences and we create worrying graphs showing the increased infiltration of communities by "TPTB." This could turn into a contest awarding BTC for valid submissions. Idunno if it'd be too "extreme" to be worth approaching Adam & LTB company about doing this as a kind of sister site.

That's a great idea to have the community able to contribute chapters or portions of the book!

I'd definitely be interested.
2993  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing MillionBitcentHomepage.com - Own a piece of Bitcoin history! on: December 01, 2013, 05:36:11 AM
Yes

I'm definitely interested, what information do I need to provide you with?

Thanks
2994  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing MillionBitcentHomepage.com - Own a piece of Bitcoin history! on: November 30, 2013, 09:03:42 PM
That's a good idea too. I was thinking of doing something a little different, instead of distributing the revenue to organizations accepting bitcoin, just implementing a bitcoin faucet that distributes the income over time to everyone who visits. That will guarantee visitors keep coming back (albeit just to get the free coins). What do you think? I will have to look into how to implementing a faucet in a fair and secure way, I haven't done that before. Any tips?

Are you still offering a free 100 pixel ad?

It's a great start! Do you think you'll make it open source at some point?
