2981  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you know about Guarda wallet on: April 10, 2022, 04:26:30 AM
Guarda wallet and Coinomi wallets seem the same to me, they offer an exchange feature to their wallet, I don't know either but it seems this wallet is a close source wallet.  This kind of multi-wallet maybe have a huge fee in swapping your coins which are not recommended, just used as suggested above if you store Bitcoin alone use Electrum.
Change now is providing the exchange service and therefore the fees are high. They also provide the same service on Atomic wallet. Most multi cryptocurrency wallet are closed source and the same is applicable for guarda too. The only thing I liked about this wallet is that it is very light and has a simple user interface.
2982  Economy / Economics / Re: Will sanctions force Russia to create a CBDC of its own? on: April 09, 2022, 08:18:43 AM
Sanctions have not yet affected Russia as was expected by the Western allies. The reason they are still dependent on the Russian gas. In my opinion if Russia wants to by pass these sanctions in the future then they would go for CBDC as it negates the role of SWIFT in cross border payment. You can find a detailed information on how CBDC can remove the monopoly of USD in this article.
2983  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason people join bitcointalk forum on: April 09, 2022, 05:58:57 AM
After 2017 there has been a huge influx of new users. A large portion of new users are bounty hunters and bots. There are a very few who are here to learn, discuss and share their knowledge. Lately bounty hunting is no longer as profitable as it was earlier those users who realize it become in active. These individuals go out and spread the negativity about crypto as they only joined this forum to make money. This is one of the biggest problem at the moment according to me.
2984  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin's price stabilize someday? on: April 09, 2022, 05:37:15 AM
Volatility is what separates Bitcoin from other assets. I think the price of Bitcoin will only become stable after all Bitcoin have been mined, by that time it would also achieve mass acceptance and adoption. Gold has been an assets for a long time now whereas Bitcoin is still brand new. It is still very early days for it to discuss about its price stability.

A 50 million percent gain. At the time around 2010, Bitcoin value was about $0.08 which worth more than 53.7M at 43k levels
I guess the owner found his old laptop and was able to also recover the wallet. Those that thought that a lot of Bitcoin have been lost know now what those wallets owners never lost it but were just hodling.
2986  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm worried about the safety of my tokens and coins on: April 07, 2022, 09:30:54 AM
I would have also recommend you Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet but chances are that Ledger or Trezor can get you email phished out of your cryptocurrency that you are so worried about. If you are willing to take the risk then go ahead with anyone or you can check Safepal S1 which is far more affordable than the above mentioned hardware wallets.
2987  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a service whose code is close sourced be regarded as decentralized? on: April 07, 2022, 08:45:20 AM
1. Closed source code doesn't mean decentralized as here the user has to trust the developer. The developer is controlling the app, which makes it centralized.

2. Non custodial as per my understanding is a decentralized feature provide by both open source and close source.

I still believe being closed source doesn't means that the wallet is bad and it cannot be trusted.
2988  Local / India / Re: Increase crypto tax from 30% to 55% on: April 07, 2022, 02:55:30 AM
Another statement from the same Rajya Sabha MP from the ruling party might give us an idea as to why the government has imposed such a harsh tax system for crypto transactions. This interview was published two days back and in this article, he has clearly stated that the government of India will make life hell for crypto investors.  Read the articles here.
2989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new here, Is it a scam or what? They ask me to invest $100 and after 24 hou on: April 07, 2022, 02:45:30 AM
Yes, it is a scam!

I have been receiving every day in my spam box mails wherein they claim that they will be crediting my wallet with x amount of satoshi or I need to complete a transaction in order to receive x amount of satoshi and many other sorts of tempting mail. I ignore those offers and sometime when those mail land directly into my inbox I move them to spam. Social media platforms are another space where these spammers will contact you and inform you that you have won x amount of money through a raffle, ignore them too. Keep this in your mind next time you encounter a scammer, nothing is free and if it is free then it is a scam.
2990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The cost of bitcoin transfers on: April 06, 2022, 08:57:27 AM
As per the mempool transaction fee are well below 10 satoshi. I do not think that can be considered as high fee. If you use Electrum or Mycelium wallet you will be paying fees depending on how fast you want your transaction to confirm. There are other wallets that charge you a flat rate regardless of the current fees applicable. If you are using those wallets then the fees will be pretty high.

2992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another day, Another Lesson for those who want to learn on: April 05, 2022, 09:25:02 AM
That is a scam token for sure. If it is APENFT then their website address is apenft.org. They are on BSC, Tron and Ethereum blockchain. They one which is being traded on Binance is APE and its website address is apecoin.com. It is an erc20 token. Therefore the coin that you recieved is a scam coin.

This is a common practice on tron and BSC Blockchain. Scammers create such copy token and distribute them to random wallets. Do not fall for such scams.

^ Is that it?

I used blockchair.com and typed the word 'below' in the search box.

Interestingly, there was another message about below $500
EW BTC will never go below $500 ever again. Isn't it beautiful? minajati

I am also the first one to find out that you can search on blockchair using a sentence or a word. This is really a great tool to use.

Found the block by entering the sentence "Last time to buy" on the search - https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/transaction/9419aedede86f88216c197f1ce7ef9f7e10e0ce50dc6827dde2e1712f64b3433

2994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you, or would you ever use a Bitcoin ATM? on: April 05, 2022, 07:28:03 AM
I have personally never used a Bitcoin ATM but, I have read that the fees in these ATMs are very high when compared to an exchange. There have been instances when they have also displayed the wrong USD value of Bitcoin. Considering those two issues it would be wise to either avoid them or be careful while using them. I am not discouraging anyone here but why pay a high fee when you can buy on an exchange for less fee.
2995  Local / India / Re: India's Crypto Trading Volume Plummets After New Tax Rules on: April 05, 2022, 06:16:41 AM
This is just the beginning! In coming months there will be zero volume on many exchanges. The government has driven the community to an extent where people will now use illegal means to cash out. When that happens the government would be helpless in controling such situation and generating tax revenue from the cryptocurrency market.

It wouldn't go down to zero but will definitely reduce. The startups created around crypto ecosystem will also reduce. It will also accelerate the great India brain drain regime that we are currently experiencing. Also it will encourage people to take illegal routes to cash out their cryptos.

I believe that's what the government wants especcially when RBI governor is very much pushing towards a blanket ban.

But who cares when incompetent people chairing the highest positions within finance ministry.
We will know surely in the next three months where the volume is headed. Forget about startups I am only waiting for news to come out of illegal exchanges operating in one of the major cities in India. I am sure those who are still trading have either found a way to cash without paying any tax or are making huge profits that the 30% slab doesn't matter to them.
2996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is MicroStrategy planning? on: April 04, 2022, 01:06:20 PM
Nothing can stop them! It is proven with the amount of finance they are getting from fiat based financial institutions.

I am not questioning what will they do with those Bitcoins. I am questioning what will happen if they continue buy Bitcoin using banking and financial institutions money.

To be realistic this doesn't sound okay for me.
2997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hunting for the next gems on: April 04, 2022, 01:00:20 PM
I want to share the list of my next crypto altcoins I plan to hold for both short term and long term, tell me the one you feel are bad and the ones you feel ate good for holding.

1. Hololoot.  2. Sidius Heroes.  3. Outer Ring.  4. Velaspad.  5. OXBULL.  6.Netverk.   7. Epik.   8. Wilder World.
I hope you've done the research...
Well, I tell you that these coins aren't good to hold, not even for short-term holding. These projects are just new, not even if it has a use case that could assure us this went successful but a big possibility they will fail.

Well, that is your choice but I have to warn you and I think the majority of the forum members will say the same. Instead of investing in these projects, you'd better choose the old coins.
This is the problem now days. This is not about long term hodl, it is about short term gain. There were many who made a ton with meme coins. Most Altcoins will not exist in a couple of years if they do not have strong fundamentals. They are about hype and if you want to cash in and cash out with hype then you are good to take that risk.
2998  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet advice on: April 04, 2022, 09:15:17 AM
There are couple of multi cryptocurrency wallet that I have used. The first one is trust wallet as it is mobile based wallet I only use it to access BSC DEX and for transaction purpose. Guarda and Atomic wallet do have desktop version so of you want to hodl your crypto assets for a few months then you can use either of them. For long term hodling hardware wallets are the best.
2999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is MicroStrategy planning? on: April 03, 2022, 02:26:30 PM
I assume we all are aware of MicroStrategy and incase if you are not then you should do a google search or check their website. They claim they are a business intelligence software company which I have no doubt when I read about them investing heavily in Bitcoin. Now, the fact, they have accumulated more Bitcoin to date than those that will be mined over the next hundred years of mining the first Bitcoin.

A single entity that is constantly accumulating Bitcoin and is also able to acquire loans from financial institutions using Bitcoin as collateral to buy more Bitcoin leads to suspicion. One thing I am sure they will be controlling the USD value of Bitcoin in the future and this might not sound alarming for many here but it can be very bad if they side up with financial institution.
3000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: April 03, 2022, 01:16:23 PM
I would say government policies are the main reason. I am from India and recently the government of Indian has passes a bill wherein 30% tax will be claimed by the government for every cryptocurrency transaction. This law came into existence from 1st of April and already local exchanges are reporting a steep decline in volume.

How harsh this tax law is for the community can be explained with this example. If a person buys $100 dollar worth of Bitcoin, the user then has to pay $30 as tax. If the user incurrs a lost of $10 over the  invested amount still taxable amount is $30.
