2983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Token Swap? on: October 16, 2022, 12:40:31 PM
I did few airdrop when I was learning about crypto currency and what I discovered from the airdrops I did was that most of the Altcoins project carry out "token swap". They swap from their old contract to a new contract. Most times they only swap investors token but don't swap airdrop participants token. My question is why do some Altcoin project do Token Swap?
Some projects attract investments from the most famous blockchains, such as Ethereum or Binance smart chain. Then they launch their blockchain and do a token swap. Other projects are moving from their blockchains to popular or growing ecosystems such as Cosmos or Solana and others. The reasons must be sought in the groups of the project, there is no single answer.

I see no reason to pay for purchases with cryptocurrencies, because it attracts too much attention. I send cryptocurrency to my partner, and he deposits my bank account through an ATM. For the bank, such an operation looks like depositing funds into its own account, so the bank has no questions. And any P2P exchanges sooner or later lead to bank account blocking.

Хотя статья называется

Отчет Ethereum после слияния может вдохновить вас на четвертый квартал

Однако ничего особо оптимистичного я там не видел  Grin

Cryptocurrency paradise in Europe ends

I don't understand why you state such a conclusion at the end if you refer exclusively to Portugal, which you cite as a crypto paradise? Anyone who legally buys and owns any cryptocurrency for more than 1 year is still exempt from paying taxes, and at least two other countries within the EU have had the same law for years.

If we take into account MiCA, then some things are definitely changing, but from the perspective of paying taxes, Portugal and some other countries will continue to be a crypto paradise if we take into account the taxes that are paid on crypto profits in other countries of the world.
This is one of my observations, and the new MiCA requirements will deprive many cryptocurrency users of most of the opportunities of decentralized ecosystems.
I always thought that if the laws change several times a year, then this is a bad law.

2992  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Russia To Ban Cryptocurrencies on: October 14, 2022, 01:26:52 PM

The Bank of Russia said crypto mining created problems for energy consumption as Russia is one of the largest crypto-miner in the world. Meanwhile, The central bank is planning to issue its own digital rouble. The proposed ban includes crypto exchanges too.

Banning cryptocurrency in Russia won't bring any solution or creating digital ruble won't either. CBDC and cryptocurrency are not on same purpose. If Russia is having difficulty in their economy, they should better stop the war with Ukraine and get back into supply of energy to Europe and their economy will bounce back because the economic sanctions too will be lifted and not to look in the direction of banning crypto mining.

The stance on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies has changed in Russia after the war with Ukraine.

They are no more banning cryptocurrencies, rather they are now using and promoting cryptocurrencies after the sanctions being put on them by IMF and the western world.

Russian officials approve use of crypto for cross-border payments: Report
The situation with cryptocurrencies in Russia has not changed over the past few years. You can hear a lot of news that cryptocurrencies will be banned or allowed, but it all seems like blah blah blah, and there are no laws about cryptocurrencies. Shadow markets work great and are a very good way to transfer your assets to any country.

Portugal is planning to start taxing digital-currency gains on purchases held for less than a year in a major policy shift for one of Europe’s most crypto-friendly nations.
"Portugal currently does not tax crypto gains unless they come from professional or business activities. But that’s about to change. A provision in the country’s proposed 2023 budget would tax gains on crypto holdings held for less than one year at a rate of 28%, according to the plan submitted to parliament on Monday. Crypto assets held for longer than 365 days will continue to be exempt from taxes, it said."

Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework and Amendments to the Common Reporting Standard

https://www.oecd.org/tax/exchange-of-tax-information/crypto-asset-reporting-framework-and-amendments-to-the-common-reporting-standard.pdf
"In light of the rapid development and growth of the Crypto-Asset market and to ensure that recent gains in global tax transparency will not be gradually eroded, in April 2021 the G20 mandated the OECD to develop a framework providing for the automatic exchange of tax-relevant information on Crypto-Assets. In August 2022, the OECD approved the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) which provides for the reporting of tax information on transactions in Crypto-Assets in a standardised manner, with a view to automatically exchanging such information. The CARF defines the Relevant Crypto-Assets in scope and the intermediaries and other service providers that will be subject to reporting. In doing so, the CARF incorporates recent developments in the global anti-money laundering standards of the Financial Action Task Force. In line with the CRS, the due diligence procedures require the identification of both individual and Entity customers, as well as their Controlling Persons. The CARF requires reporting on an aggregate basis, divided by type of Crypto-Asset and type of transaction. In August 2022, the OECD has also approved amendments to the CRS to bring certain electronic money products and Central Bank Digital Currencies in scope. In light of the CARF, changes have also been made to ensure that indirect investments in Crypto-Assets through derivatives and investment vehicles are now covered by the CRS. In addition, amendments have been made to strengthen the due diligence and reporting requirements (including requiring the reporting of the role of each Controlling Person) and to foresee a carve-out for genuine non-profit organisations."

Now the price drop is happening in all markets, and not only in cryptocurrency. We have seen in the history of the recession and for 10 years, but the fall in prices still ends. $1,200 for 1 ethereum may seem very expensive to many, but I am sure that such a project as ethereum will exist in 10 years.
2997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETH price keeps decreasing? on: October 13, 2022, 06:48:30 PM
According to May analysts, the price of bitcoin fell by 71.6% from the all-time high, and the price of ethereum fell by 73.4% from the all-time high. And the price reduction for other coins approached 90% or more. The price of Ethereum holds up very well relative to many other coins.
2998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone who buys Coins from the Top50 will stay poor on: October 13, 2022, 06:44:20 PM
Learn from the early crypto people who trusted early projects and got rewarded. You just need to find the good projects (modefi over 1 million lines of code, self-funded), the good teams, the crazy and creative teams, the guys who will make the world a better place and help replace banks, mainstream media and centralized social networks.
Most of the early adopters of cryptocurrencies sold their coins for very cheap. I was selling bitcoin for $400 or less and ethereum was selling for less than $20.
The post is interesting as a level 80 advertisement.
I invest in shitcoins, but more than 90% of my assets are in stablecoins and serious ecosystem projects.
2999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Tron wallets on: October 13, 2022, 06:38:52 PM
I use a ledger in conjunction with Tronlink. The ledger does not support most of the tokens in the Tron ecosystem, for example, support for Tether (USDT) is added, there is no support for USD Coin (USDC). This is very inconvenient, and you can add any tokens in the Tronlink.
3000  Other / Politics & Society / Re: During the morning missile attack on Ukraine, the Russians hit Samsung Offices on: October 13, 2022, 06:32:47 PM
We all thought Kyiv is doing good already where people now live normally.
Russia was slowing down and going back to thier camps as the report said that Ukraine got back the regions that was previously occupied by Russians. But attacking the Crimean bridge is a mistake that Putin also considers terrorism.

I think they should stop hitting Russia for now so they would not retaliate to bomb infrastructures as well. Switch on your news Russian media, since Putin exactly meant what he is saying which is to respond harshly. Hitting Kyiv like yesterday caused the blackout in the city.
This opinion is erroneous. Russia illegally built the Kerch bridge from its territory to the Ukrainian occupied peninsula of Crimea and has recently been actively using it to transfer its military and various military equipment to southern Ukraine in the combat zone. If Ukraine stops resisting, it will disappear as a state, and pro-Ukrainian citizens will be killed, which is now happening in the occupied territories. Russia has already announced four regions of Ukraine as its own and annexed them to the Russian Federation. These are the areas from which the Ukrainians are now expelling the occupiers. So, stop doing it, because it is already considered the territory of Russia and it can be offended?

For the past three days, Russia has been actively firing rockets all over Ukraine, targeting the infrastructure that provides the population with electricity, heat and water. The order about this from the Kremlin was given to its military long before the explosion on October 8 on the Kerch bridge, namely on October 2-3. Russia is now suffering a catastrophic defeat on the fronts of Ukraine. The remnants of the regular Russian army are surrounded in the Kherson region. Putin is frantically looking for ways to bring Ukraine to the negotiating table and his favorite tactic is intimidation. That is why the peaceful cities of Ukraine are now being shelled. In order to bring Ukraine to the negotiating table, the remnants of high-precision expensive missiles are being produced. On October 10 alone, Russia fired 87 missiles worth between $400 million and $700 million. Of these, 43 were shot down by Ukrainian air defense. Russia will soon stop the massive shelling of Ukraine, because on the one hand, the missiles are running out, and on the other hand, having seen the resilience of the Ukrainians, Putin will understand that it is useless to do this. After all, militarily, these attacks do not make any sense.
What kind of negotiations are we talking about and with whom? Ukraine does not make such decisions. We need to talk to the US, but they don't want peace.

https://mronline.org/2022/10/13/u-s-rejection-of-moscows-offer-for-peace-talks-is-utterly-inexcusable/
"These two points taken together lend even more credibility an argument I’ve been making from the very beginning of this war: that the U.S. does not want peace in Ukraine, but rather seeks to create a costly military quagmire for Moscow just as U.S. officials have confessed to trying to do in Afghanistan and in Syria. Which would explain why U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said the U.S. goal in Ukraine is actually to “weaken” Russia, and also why the empire appears to have actively torpedoed a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia in the early days of the conflict."
