2981  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SpaceChain.io l The bitcoin mixing service you were looking for. on: August 31, 2015, 02:58:29 PM
This thread belong to Service Annunciation subforum. I might be wrong but isn't Bitmixer fee is 0.5%. So with 1% fee what is the point of using Op's service?
Bitmixer is more established and cheaper. Thoughts?
2982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is the kind of news that gives Bitcoin a shady reputation... on: August 30, 2015, 10:09:25 AM
Helping terrorist should always end like this. It does not matter if he gave them FIAT or Bitcoins it is a crime. Thinking this situation is bitcoin fault is illogical, bitcoin it is just a tool.
There will be always some twisted humans who do shit like that.
2983  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Why do people use faucets? on: August 30, 2015, 05:49:32 AM
I think faucets are a good way to save on transaction fees.
When I have time I get around 150000 satoshi per week: I stake them to pay a good transaction fee.
It's my way to put those money back into the BTC system I think
What are you talking about? It is completely opposite. If you collect 'dust' from faucets your transaction fees will be can be huge in the future.
You will lose significant part of your faucet earning trying to compose 'dust' transactions. You may want to think twice before that.

I don't understand what you mean. Can you explain a little more?
I could agree that faucets create a lot of dust but my reason behind what I said is that since they're there why not take advantages out of them...

Before you use faucet you really should read great educational post by Shorena. You will find find some info about transactions fees there:

Quote
The most common problem when using faucets is the small payment. Every time you receive a bitcoin payment to your wallet you have a new input to spend at a later date. Think of this like a lump of bitcoin you can use later. When you later want to use these lumps of bitcoin they need space as part of the transaction your wallet creates for you. This is usually 180 bytes per input. A bigger (in terms of byte) transaction will need more fees in order to be confirmed in a reasonable amount of time. Each block offers only a limited amount of space (currently 1 MB) and if you need a big chunk of the space a big chunk of your available funds will be used as fee for the miners. Faucets try to counter this by creating payout limits, but they are often set very small. A reasonable fee for a transaction with less than 1000 byte in size is 10,000 Satoshi. If the payout limit is 100,000 Satoshi and you try to spend this input, you will have to spend 10% on fees. If you want an example how bad this can end, I helped someone recover from this a while back, in numbers:
~0.5 BTC from faucets, collected over ~2 years, ~2000 inputs, ~350,000 bytes, ~0.09 BTC in fees.

2985  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-29] Bylls Lets Canadians Pay Bills With Bitcoin on: August 29, 2015, 11:36:29 AM
I've seen this before in Australia and in Netherlands. This awesome idea is basically company which converts your btc to fiat and they send money in your name.
It's nothing great because it could be achieved with direct p2p bitcoin payments and eliminate the need of a fees. So it is basically working like this: "pay us $210 we will pay your $200 bills".
2986  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Microsoft reading UR emails?Windows 10 may threaten ur privacy watchdogs warn on: August 28, 2015, 02:19:09 PM
From the Terms of Service:

"Finally, we will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to: 1.comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including from law enforcement or other government agencies; 2.protect our customers, for example to prevent spam or attempts to defraud users of the services, or to help prevent the loss of life or serious injury of anyone;"

In other words, the police don't need a warrant anymore, they just have to ask.
So this is what future will bring us? Total control of the corporations and governments. They are limiting our laws and under cover of protection want to spy on us, know everyting about us.
Windows 10 is a major leap towards total infiltration of our personal space. Stay away from it if you value your privacy.
2987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I love Google. on: August 28, 2015, 02:09:52 PM
Google is a spying, lying, cheating bastard of a company. Any dealings you do with them should never be considered secure or private. You probably shouldn't have had your wallet closed, but you should have had your butt spanked for making a Google wallet account anyway.

Anyway, it's over now. Just go to Paypal instead.
Unfortunately if you are running multi million dollar company of that caliber you need to be lying and cheating. There is no way of honest business when you need to please people and government at the same time.
Google is just being cautious about potential fraudulent accounts, that is perfectly understandable. But saying that paypal is better is a bit too much.
2988  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: US bank to bitcoin without ID verification on: August 27, 2015, 05:22:16 PM
Hello, is there any way to exchange from my us bank to bitcoin without id verification (i don't really trust sending id's over the internet)

thanks!
I like how you trust bank with your full credentials and you don't trust sending it over internet? Do you think there is huge difference there?
Of course I am talking about reputable services here, and not telling some random people your address etc. Bank can sell your ID to advertising companies anytime.
2989  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Microsoft is allowing itself to detect pirated games on your Windows 10 PC on: August 27, 2015, 04:18:17 PM
After reading some articles and information about features of Windows 10 and reports about how crooked is security of that system. I can think one thing - what microsoft did is abuse of power.
This system is tailored to be spyware and moneymaking bullsoft. In this system even Solitaire has an ads and you can PAY to unlock version without ads, you need to pay monthly fee for it.
As long as it will be possible I won't buy Windows 10.
2990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin? Call the police! on: August 27, 2015, 03:02:15 PM
Bitcoins largest strength is also it's biggest downfall, anonymity can be a blessing and a curse.
Bitcoin 'anonymity' is only problem for uneducated people and for control freaks. If you think about it you realize that standard FIAT money is far more anonymous and crime friendly that bitcoin ever was.
Paper money are totally untraceable and anonymous after all. Argument, that bitcoin is evil, because it can be used to buy prohibited goods etc. is ridiculous.
2991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: earn bitcoins quickly on: August 26, 2015, 01:22:57 AM
It's very very very hard to get 1BTC/day.

But a fast way to earn some satoshis is using a faucet rotator.

http://bitcoin-catcher.com

Enjoy. Smiley
And it will more money to faucet creator that to you. Not to mention lost time during leeching that $0.0002 per day. You can grow old and die before faucets will give you any real money.
My advice - avoid faucets if you want to truly earn some money.
2992  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: earn bitcoins quickly on: August 26, 2015, 01:02:50 AM
You should rename this thread to: "How to become Donald Trump in a week". People don't understand that you can't become a millionaire in a week. It just won't happen.
Earn quickly = steal, scam, win in a casino, and these are very risky ways, not to mention morally wrong. If you truly want to earn money invest in your growth and become a skillful in something.
2993  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-25] Bitcoin Exchange Based in Australia Halts Trading on: August 26, 2015, 12:56:54 AM
Another MtGox type of exchange? They went bankrupt or what? Ceasing support and neglecting your customers is the major indicator that this Exchange is done for.
Even if they resume activity I doubt they will be considered viable anymore. So sad that bitcoin is plagued by this kind of bullshit.
2994  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody Taking Bets On The Stock Market Crashing Tomorrow? on: August 24, 2015, 10:04:38 PM
Stock Market Crash is happening, and it will be harder tomorrow. China's bubble is popping and every other financial market linked with it as well...
You don't have to take bets here, it will clearly be on of the biggest declines in this century.
2995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim DotCom: ‘China in Big Trouble. Buy Bitcoin Now’ on: August 24, 2015, 10:02:13 PM
I happened today. Shanghai market crashed. It was the biggest decline of this decade -  8,49% and every other market followed, EU and US are in bad shape, Australian and Brazilian stock exchanges as well.
The saddest part is that bitcoin will follow this trend and drop value as well. I can't decide if that is good or bad.
2996  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-23] Indian Payment Solutions Provider ePaisa Incorporates Bitcoin ... on: August 23, 2015, 06:05:22 PM
Awesome news for bitcoin, especially in this dire time when XT fights with Core. There are over 50,000 bitcoin users in India and the Indian bitcoin ecosystem saw over 35,000 bitcoins being traded last year.
Embracing Bitcoin by one of the biggest Indian payment provider is crucial, I bet other services would like to follow soon. Indian BTC market is just too big to ignore.
2997  Other / Meta / Re: you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on: August 23, 2015, 05:41:05 PM
I don't think that your ban will be lifted.
Because always the time period is also specified along with this message, but in your case it is not visible.

It has been explained already, the ban is forever but in some cases if you appeal later on, usually a few months later you might get unbanned if you got banned because of signature spamming.
Is there really was a case that after couple months permanent ban was lifted? I thought that permanent is permanent no matter what.
2998  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin addresses on: August 22, 2015, 11:23:07 PM
Address in bitcoin could change anytime. As you saw there it is possible to change standard address with 1 at the beginning and change it to 3.
I think we can see more changes like that in the future when people would use bitcoin even more. There won't be possibility ever for bitcoin to run dry its address pool.
2999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Anti-XTers Are Harming Bitcoin on: August 22, 2015, 11:06:30 PM
Yeah, supporting bigger blocks is not the same as XT.

Fellow above nailed it.

Bigger blocks = fine. Hostile takeover = wrong.

I consider the blockstream devs stonewalling of any reasonable increase proposal to be a hostile takeover.
Hostile takeover in the bitcoin reality is probably really unlikely to happen. People need to agree and then accept changes and therefore change fork and upgrade core protocol.
This is impossible with small numbers. It is so hard to find unbiased and good arguments to support XT with every changes they propose that XT takeover is impossible.
3000  Economy / Services / Re: 5$ in Bitcoin to fix my League of Legends ping. on: August 21, 2015, 06:24:02 PM
Op, Have you tested your online capabilities in other games? It usually is not one service or game but your whole connection is bad.
If you can test in in other games and see if there is no problem at all with pings then your LoL client is faulty here. Without checking that first I would not do anything hasty.
And check your ping to some www servers by doing -ping command in cmd console first. Check if you have some timeouts etc.
