Not only thread locking, but thread trashing. Actually, yeah. If you continually trash pointless threads, then bounty hunters will eventually stop posting in them. After all, they'll learn their lesson when the post count drops by 100 all of a sudden. I suggested locking as opposed to trashing since it would be a less radical change however considering the fact that plenty of megathreads were trashed in past, I don't think there should be much of a problem there.
Every time I go into any board outside of Reputation and Scam Accusations, I see many lengthy threads worthy of removal. |

I'm sure i'm not the only person who sees the same things being asked MULTIPLE times everyday by people on here, in particular in the beginners section and in the Bitcoin discussion sections. I just find it staggering that some of the most basic questions are asked repeatedly and the answers are even on the same page as they've posted on!  Here's the deal. People will create shitty threads with shitty questions to create a subspace for shitty discussion. Clear? Vague, general, common-sense thread titles will pop up. Bitcoin price at end of month?Will Bitcoin reach 10K in 2019?Why is Bitcoin good?Look at these titles and tell me that you can't create a short two-sentence reply. This is what people do and this is why there are a rampant number of 30+ page nonsensical threads, with people responding to either the topic line or to those in the thread, perpetuating meaningless discussion. Most of the replies will be "agree" posts where a user will rephrase the post they are quoting, perhaps adding one or two "insights" that are general knowledge. This is what I call a cesspool. An introductory section or a newbie jail will not fix this.
There needs to be more action taken by staff. More thread-locking. Despite their efforts, I still see many sections filled with a cacophony of bullshit, spewing dozens of pages of lusterless incoherence. Hopefully the prose wasn't too bad.
I just have a strong opinion on this. |

Considering the sheer number of scams I don't think it's improbable that a number of them have not been reported in Bitcointalk. After all, most of the obvious scams are probably not even mentioned due to that fact.
Pop into Scam Accusations and you'll seldom find threads about ponzi scams (at least those that aren't very contrived).

Seems like it was for posting rampantly in megathreads, which although you don't seem to be doing anymore, there are a few posts in threads that seem like spammer haven material. I ditched the idea of that thread and began slowly trickling down merit because the signal:noise ratio was low as fuck. It's not that I don't like going over post history, but having to deal with 400 (shit)posts per page is not the kind of thing I like doing, especially when you get the constant spammers tuning in for merit.
But never mind that. Posts are looking good for the most part. Here are some critiques: The evidences against you are pretty good and tough and DT members confirmed it. If you really like to clear your name you must provide evidences that will testify your innocence, convincing them wouldn't change anything. But at your kind of situation, looks like it's all over for you to bring back your account without Red Trust.
Only Lauda and The Pharmacist has the right to remove your Negative Trust and I doubt that they'll gonna remove it, unless you've got some proof that will break the barrier between you and them. A proof that will really prove that you were innocent, but, where are you gonna get some proof? I think it's really over. Pushing yourself to convince them will only put you in serious trouble. There is far too much redundancy here for me to say that it's a quality post: you can chop away a good chunk. Brevity is the soul of wit. Strawbabies huh? The problem here is who you're trying to convince, i.e., a person who thinks he can do a deal with a person and also act as the escrow for the transaction....and a few other flawed perceptions along with a healthy dose of no self-awareness. QS is best not replied to, IMO. I have never let Quickseller's history determine my attitude towards them. They can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that I have remained quite civil when we encounter one another in a discussion. I'm sure there are some people who buy accounts only to get into a signature campaign and end up being constructive contributors to bitcointalk, but my view is that they are the rare exception and hardly the rule. One notable user that comes to mind is Avirunes. So, it is possible that account trading can result in some good but for the most part it's being given to people that won't bring about good post quality. After all, it's quite common in the Russian board and I don't think that most of the consumer-base is very fluent in English. When you buy an account, yes, you're assuming the reputation of the original owner [... and] you take credit for the post history, the rank, trust, merit, and everything that goes along with it. Step by Step Guide for buying OPTin
The entire token sale is made available in your personal client area via the portal.
Step 1: Sign up to the Token Sale Client Area
• Visit https://www.optincoin.org
• Provide your email address, set a password and agree to the Terms & Conditions.
• Confirm your password and login via the confirmation email.
Step 2: Select if you want to buy tokens with crypto or fiat currencies
With Cryptocurrencies
• Choose whether you want to send ETH, BTC, BCH, XRP, or LTC to purchase OPTin.
• The portal will present you with your personal address to send tokens to (if you choose BTC, your personal BTC address will be shown. If you choose ETH, your personal ETH address etc. will be displayed.)
• After you have sent the tokens from your wallet, make sure to submit the transaction ID. You will see the corresponding number of tokens in your OPTin token balance within 24 hours and receive a confirmation email. The rate of conversion will be calculated from CoinDesk feed, to within a 5 minute window.
• Enter the address of your ERC-20 compatible wallet in order to get your tokens distributed after the main sale.
With Fiat Currencies
Tokens can be purchased via ACH or wire transfer only
Bank account details with your personal reference code will be presented. It is very important to provide this code during your wire in order to ensure correct assignment of your tokens to your wallet.
Token Purchases with Fiat above $1,000 (10,000 OPTin)
If you plan to buy more than 10,000 OPTin ($1,000) a basic Know-Your-Customer Check (KYC) will be required. You might be presented with a short questionnaire and a field to upload a copy of your passport, ID or driver license. All your data is encrypted and processed by RapidID. They will either approve, disapprove, or request additional information based on your submission.
a) After RapidID approval (you will be notified via email and see your account status in your client area) you will be able to purchase more than 10,000 OPTin. If you wire more than $1,000 without being verified, OPTB reserves the right to return the amount exceeding $1,000 back to your bank account.
