If I understand things correctly I could do a clean install of 0.18 and use the current vallet
Yes. What is the vallet? the complete data folder?
The wallet is the wallet.dat file in the data directory of core. It is usually located in : C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin (Windows, which most probably is what you got since you are talking about a .exe), ~/.bitcoin/ (Linux) or ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/ (MacOS).

Exporting and importing the private keys isn't a very good mechanism to protect against a faulty update. You'd need to make sure to always have all private keys of the addresses which contain funds.. The easier way would be to simply have a backup of the mnemonic code. This lets you recreate all of your (current and future) private keys in any compatible wallet. And yes, you can definitely backup your mnemonic code with a trezor.

Few days ago I have created one transaction from btc to xmr
This is not possible. You can only exchange BTC for XMR (buy / sell). Your problem is that your transaction hasn't been received (BTC). Try to be as precise as possible. the exchange told the transaction got into the orphan block. We didn't receive the funds.
Which exchange did you use? Do you have the transaction ID for us ? the funds will be returned to you by the network.what does it mean? can someone please explain me I am new to crypto please help? thank you in advance
If a transaction gets included into a block, which then won't be part of the longest chain, it is called an orphaned block. Since the block is not part of the longest chain, it is not confirmed. But usually those transaction from orphaned blocks will be put back into the mempool (which leads to them confirm a few blocks later anyway). If your client (core / electrum / which wallet are you using ? ) is up-to-date, it should already show that you still have the funds available. It is possible that this is just an excuse and you got scammed. Usually they automatically will confirm after being orphaned (given that the fee isn't way too low). Did you use a non-reputable, less-known exchange ?

Hello guys! Im noob, need a help!
Start a new topic in the correct sub of this forum and briefly explain your issue. Make sure to include all information which might be necessary for us to help you.

It's not possible to tell whom the address belongs to but any decent website that allows depositing/withdrawing bitcoins should show details such as transaction, confirmation, addresses, etc. especially one for escrowing funds anyway.
You sadly got scammed, and I wouldn't count on getting my funds back If I were you. The website is nowhere to find online. No backlinks, mentions on Reddit, forums, etc. which makes me wonder how you find the website in the first place.
Thanks guys. Damn we need a software that can read into these domians and phish sites automatically. Thanks guys It is called common sense No.. honestly.. don't simply send money to a 'service' without doing some research. Check whether it is a legitimate service by looking at reviews etc. If you can't find anything about the service, that should be a red flag already. And you can always ask in this forum whether it is a legit service / it is known here.

Already 90 posts >
There's too many of them. The first two-and-a-half pages of the Bitcoin Discussion board are old posts bumped with spam.
Alright.. i resign.. Thanks to both of you for destroying my hope. Unfortunately i am not at home and therefore can't automate that currently to auto-report them. If anyone wants to.. feel free to write a python script to auto-report all message containing the URL. Shouldn't take more than 20-30 lines if you have DB access (LoyceV, i am thinking about you).

Again.. a new wave of someone spamming the yobit-shit. Message: Here are the user and their posts: I will try to keep this list up-to-date for a (hopefully fast) ban of those accounts. I wish there was a faster (and easier) way to get them banned instead of report each post individually. Edit: I resigned.

I'm not a sugar daddy
Sugardaddy LeGaulios. Confirmed. Do you want to be called Mr. Sugardaddy LeGaulios ? Or simply Sugardaddy LeGaulios?

failed economic theory of the core fanboys
While the big blockers believe they can go around the laws of physics. obviously if block size increases the cost of running a node increases with it, even if it doesn't increase and remains fixed the cost still increases as the size of the blockchain and the UTXO set increases.
Good. Plus another externality on a block size increase is on the miners, especially the small miners.
Oh.. are we talking about block size increase again? Isn't that water under the bridge ? I guess i have to use the classic meme again.. P.s. For the people who support big blocks: You are the guy saying 'double faster'..

Is there a specific reason the trust rating isn't shown on all boards ?
I can't think of something negative about that.. Except maybe that scammer with a negative rating won't be taken seriously on the whole forum anymore (instead of just a few subs). Which is quite a pro-argument IMO (at least for everyone except the scammer).
Is there something i am missing ?
I'd like to see whether someone has scammed a user with gift cards in any sub. Whether Development & Technical Discussion / Technical Support / etc..

New update: I have local inputs...may this be an issue?
What are local inputs ? I am not familiar with this expression regarding electrum. By the way, did you make sure to uncheck 'select server automatically' before changing the server ? Quite a few people seem to forget that. Did you already successfully use version 3.3.5 ? Can you verify that you downloaded it from https://electrum.org/ ?

You can indeed just copy your data directory and save time/bandwith syncing your 2nd node. But only copying the blocks is not enough, you need the chainstate folder too.
The easiest probably would be if you copy the whole data dir (without the wallet.dat) to your 2nd hard drive. Then let your 2nd node use that directory.
May i ask what the reason is to have a 2nd node running at home ?

[...] Missing inputs [...]
Make sure your wallet holds the necessary private keys to spend from the addresses you are using. How did you create your wallet? Were you given a mnemonic code (12 words) to backup ? Did you import private keys ? Or did you just import an address?

do u think EXODUS wallet is scam
I don't think so. i heard that some peoples lost money on this wallet and that exodus devs stole their money
I don't think the devs stole it (might still be possible). But the security of this wallet is horrible.. The chances that their funds got stolen because their computer was infected is very high. Exodus doesn't have any security mechanism to protect your private keys. i don't know if it's safe to deposit huge BTC on this wallet or not 0.5 - 10 BTC for ex
Hell, no. Definitely not! if its not safe what is the best and safest wallets to store BTC ??
For such an amount.. get a hardware wallet.. It is secure and convenient to use. You don't want to store up to 10 BTC on a wallet which is connected to an online machine (no desktop-, mobile- or web wallets). Another possibility would be to use a dedicated computer as a cold wallet or a paper wallet (both are more secure than a hardware wallet, but way less convenient to spend BTC from). If you want to access your coins regularly, a hardware wallet probably is the best option for you.

Ox, you are right. Could you tell how I can use wallet on linux server? How can i connect, what command I must used for it? as I understand it, I do it with seed frase,is it correct?
He literally mentioned it: [...] If you want to sign transactions, then you need to either import the "xprv" or the 12 word seed when you create the wallet on Linux.

Hello nc50lc. I know RBF but I am not interested in, I thought OP was clear
Did you read my post ? I clearly stated that you should be able to create a double-spending transaction (which won't be dropped by all nodes) if the RBF-tag is set. nc50lc just mentioned that this should work if the RBF-tag is set in your original transaction and if you are using a compatible wallet to do so. So, actually.. you should be indeed interested in RBF. If you however want to double spend a transaction which does not have the RBF flag set, your OP wasn't clear at all..

They have only a web wallet [...]
Not a web wallet, but a web interface. The wallet still is the trezor itself (as a hardware wallet). You are just using a web application to communicate with it. Instead of creating multiple stand-alone applications (depending on OS / versions), they decided to create a single web application running on their server (for easier maintenance).
|
|
|
by the way , as i know from other community , how about use the 24 seeds recovery from I M token wallet , is it good choice for me ?
Regarding your trezor ? Or using it in what context ? You definitely need to restore your trezor with the same seed which your previously used with your trezor, not with a different one. In fact, you shouldn't import any seed into a hardware wallet which hasn't been generated by the hardware wallet itself.

Using an old Android phone is a bad choice, the old internal and external memory of Android is very small and limited. we can't use that.
Huh? The internal memory is large enough to store a single application and a few kilo bytes of data... And if you can insert an SD card, those mobiles usually support more than a few GB.. Way more than one would need. mobile phones that can send crypto without internet. and only use SMS.
You can't send crypto without internet. You need an internet connection. Whether it has to be on the device itself (not recommended) or on another device, is another question.. Also.. use SMS for what ? SMS is not the safest way to communicate..
@OP: Since your question has been answered and you have decided what to do, consider closing this thread to avoid future spam (bottom left corner -> lock topic). Edit: Exactly this is the kind of spam i am talking about: Yeah android phone as wallet, earning here in bitcoin then save to your moblie wallet for online transactions. Nice 1.
