Schalke - Bielefeld

Two coaches who are not known to play very attractive football, defense first for both. Bielefeld can probably live with a draw here, while Schalke has to get the 3 points no matter what. But they have 90min time to score one goal and there is no need to come out all guns blazing. It's rare to see an over 2.5 being priced above @2.00 in Bundesliga, but here it is justified and the odds for under are still good imo. So under 2.5 @1.87 for me and CS 1-0 @9.2. Let the Stevens-magic begin Smiley

Here are the entries thus far (public/live table):

Welcome to the MM family @rohang, @jayce and @Woohler Smiley

I have hidden the users who are yet to submit their picks to make the table more compact. As always, please check your entries for mistakes I made.

Lots of consensus found, but only one game with full consensus -> our hated Flamengo, lol. The most non-consensus game is Atalanta-Roma with 9-6-6, followed by Lazio-Napoli with 4-7-10. Only 4 outcomes are not covered and it's one of the few MM's where more away than home wins were picked. Good luck everyone Smiley

Turquinito and rohang agree on 14 picks, only with Atalanta – Roma they have different a outcome predicted. ralle14 and me only with Lazio – Napoli, second week in a row we are that close (is that a good or bad thing ?  Cheesy)

edit: sorry guys, I am trying to embed the screenshot directly on my post, but it just keeps embedding the link to the screenshot. I must be doing something wrong, but not sure what. Hope this still qualifies my entry.

I think this is because of your rank, since Newbies can't post images.

303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 18, 2020, 01:35:49 PM
I had already sent a pm to metenjean right after seeing their submission on the thread asking them to post a copy of their betslip (...)

It's not only missing one game, but he has different games than in the MM schedule (Eibar, Sevilla, Strasbourg, Lorient), so it's clear that no MM bet was submitted, although ralle14 pointed him to the place to go here. Probably language barrier. Or lazyness Tongue

@tyKiwanuka
I actually believe that since you are the one entering the data in the table, all of us should provide the needed data in a way you prefer it. When I check our thread I am always looking at your table and never checking the individual posts. Thanks for doing it.

Thanks Smiley I guess you know the pain from Betnomi competition Grin, but as long as it's just ~20 users, I am fine with things being a little chaotic^^

@Tyki : sorry for the small size screenshots.

No prob, I have a magnifying glass Cheesy
304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 18, 2020, 10:22:34 AM
I just though he wanted to retire because of health issues?

His wife is sick, not he himself, thats why he kind of retired. But he always had a soft spot for Schalke in his heart ever since he was so super successful with them. It's understandable that he helps out in this situation and it's a good move from Schalke imo. He will show no mercy with any player not giving 100%, he is very respected (to not say feared) and generally a good coach for these kind of situation - though a bit too oldschool maybe. But Schalke doesn't necessarily need a super good tactician at this point, but more a psychologist and motivator. And if Stevens doesn't get the job done, then you still can call Magath Cheesy

(...) but they are already far behind needed 16th place (...)

Hmm, as I said the other day, it's not looking that bad imo considering the fact they will play Bielefeld next. Lets say they get 3 points there, they will be only be 3 points behind 15th place assuming Cologne loses at Leipzig, which is very likely. Getting only 4 points out of 12 games is quite pathetic, but teams like Mainz, Bielefeld, Cologne are not any better and only 2 of them will relegate directly.

Source: https://www.flashscore.com/standings/WjH7u1E5/bk1Zgnfk/#table/overall

Schalke beating Bielefeld and Mainz maybe drawing with Bremen, will put 3 teams with 7 points at the bottom. Looking good for Schalke Grin If they beat Bielefeld......
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 17, 2020, 09:28:55 PM
Those guys aren't ruled out yet, but they both very well could be.

Judging by the odds movement, they don't play or at least one of them doesn't and the other one is limited. I liked the over, which has gone down now around 2pts as well, but have to think twice now Roll Eyes Betting on the Raiders ? Dangerous Grin Since they had the Chiefs on the brink of defeat, they basically have done nothing. Losing 6-43 to ATL, barely beating the tanking Jets and last week that bad loss to the Colts. A divisional matchup is always a good possibility to get back on track, I just don't find this 1.5x very appealing.

For those who are not aware, we have two NFL games this Saturday with Bills@Broncos and Panthers@Packers. Not the greatest matchups of all time, but better than nothing Grin
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 17, 2020, 12:24:14 PM
Here are mine:

I always struggle with the Watford matches and what do you do, when you have no idea ? -> Draw. But thats the only draw I picked. Pretty hard MM this week, lots of top/good teams going against each other.....

Hopefully Haaland will be set to play (...)

Nope, he is out, will maybe be back for first game next year against Wolfsburg. I still picked Dortmund, though I don't feel very comfortable with it, because Union is doing fantastic this season. And I still don't really get what makes them so strong, because they are playing with a lot of guys who spent most of their time in 2. Bundesliga - what good team chemistry paired with a good coach can do Roll Eyes Dortmund is way superior in terms of quality and with their new coach, they should be able to concentrate on playing good football again. It was said that Reus/Hummels were the driving force behind getting Favre sacked, so there are no more excuses Wink
307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: December 17, 2020, 10:53:41 AM
At least there is some people in the room to chant  Grin.

Hehe, not anymore, since London is in Tier3 restrictions again, so the Ally Pally was empty already yesterday. But they have some audio playing for TV viewers, which makes it a bit more convenient to watch.....

Yesterday all favourites won, but three matches were close, going the full distance. Today we have 4 strong favourites and 4 what it looks more balanced encounters:

Source: https://www.oddsportal.com/darts/world/pdc-world-championship/

I don't recognize most of these guys, but my guess would be, that we see 3 players from the right winning today. One just needs to figure out, who these will be, which is the hard part^^
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 16, 2020, 10:29:13 PM
I'm sorry for your loss.

Hehe, I didn't bet on the match (at least not 1X2, only layed the 0-0 at HT), I just called it wrongly, so no financial loss fortunately^^

After the good showing at Augsburg, where the red card for Augsburg helped a bit, Schalke went back to being super poor today; they just can't find no rhythm. As @Darkoth89 said, Freiburg wasn't playing particularly well, but they took advantage of an individual mistake and scored. Every little piece of confidence for the Schalke players was gone afterwards and it was an easy win for Freiburg in the end.
Now they will play Bielefeld on Saturday Roll Eyes If they don't get 3 points there, I think coach Baum will be gone again. Point-wise it's still looking not tooo bad being only 3 points behind relegation playoff, but they are going nowhere with Baum as it seems. I would sign Favre then Grin

Leverkusen's from is just brutal atm. They will host Bayern next and if they are not shitting their pants, I can see them winning this. You can still get around 4.50 in some places for that. 1X for above evens probably not a bad choice as well.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Red Cards in Football and what they do to the odds and the outcome on: December 16, 2020, 10:01:21 PM
There were no red cards in first half on the weekend, but in the midweek games we had 3 of them so far and every time the strategy would have worked.

Real Madrid - Athletic Bilbao
Red Card: Bilbao in 13th minute, score 0-0
Final Score: 3-1

Odds were probably not good for Real after the red card considering they were already 1.6x pre-match fav, but in the end Real won. Bilbao managed to equalize one man down though....not good for your heart Grin

Monaco - Lens
Red Card: Monaco in 23rd minute, score 0-1
Final Score: 0-3

This is probably not super interesting, since Lens was already leading when the red card occured, but would have won easily.

Stade Rennais - Olympique Marseille
Red Card: Marseille in 36th minute, score 0-1
Final Score: 2-1

Here I actually got involved and played 1X at halftime, because I thought this is a good spot - the best spot imo; i.e. the first half red-carded away team leading. After the 1-1 in 63rd minute, Marseille was @10+ then and you could easily hedge if you wanted.

310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 16, 2020, 11:59:04 AM
Hertha - Mainz must have been one of the most boring matches, at least looking at the statistics from the match.

It was the only match this season and the first one since spring, which had no shot on goal in first half. This basically tells the whole story already.

Dortmund was lucky again. They didn't really play very well. It was okay under the circumstances.

Yep, think so too. Haaland is really missing for them and Moukoko - who had some good opportunities to score - can't fill that role yet & he is just a very different player. Dortmund as so often plays well until the box and then misses some big guy and presence there. All these technically very skilled, 1.70m players only help so much, when the opponent defends well with all 11 players and you are so predictable.

-

Frankfurt vs Gladbach was great to watch Smiley

Will Schalke win today ? Grin If they just had some proper striker available.....Ibisevic, Pacencia, Uth all out, which is really unfortunate for them. But I will call a win for them today nonetheless Cool
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: December 16, 2020, 11:27:12 AM
First day done and we already have one upset when brazilian player Diogo Portela beat Steve "The Bronzed Adonis" Beaton in his record-breaking 30th consecutive participation in the Darts World Championships. Portela was priced at 4.30-ish and won 3-0 in sets Shocked

The other results of the day:

West def. Gilitwala 3-0
Smith def. Barry 3-1
Wright def. West 3-1

I actually placed a live bet on Wright, for 1.07 lol, since he looked good and I couldn't imagine him going out in R2 already.

Today there will be an afternoon and evening session, featuring 8 matches in total:

Lets see, if all players on the left will be able to advance, I doubt it Wink

Wow its free tp join on the club but do you have some rule or need to fill form first, or I can directly make prediction based on my predicting, I am waiting for the next week match and I think very interested for joining this tread.

You are already in the table, since you put your picks in here in Week 48. But then you went awol and missed out on some great prizes sponsored by SB the last two weeks Grin Just posting your predictions isn't enough though - you need to actually place a bet for the MM (see the link from ralle14) and in best case provide the betslip share link or a screenshot of your bet.
313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 15, 2020, 03:33:43 PM
Werder Bremen sure will score a goal in the match.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Bremen rarely fails to score against Dortmund and these two teams meeting often results in very exciting games, but Werder is still missing Rashica, Füllkrug and Selke. What speaks for them to score, is that I expect Dortmund to crush Bremen badly today and if they have a big lead, they might allow Werder to score one too Grin And Moukoko will score his first Bundesliga goal today (@2.5x for that).

I like Hertha today @1.85, since they are on a good run lately and Mainz is completely lost. Probably not much value and by betting against Mainz, they will probably win to annoy me, but they are just poor and have a noob coach completely overwhelmed with things. They should have gotten a piont against Köln, but playing away at Berlin is another story.

Gladbach @2.5x also looks nice, since coach Rose is likely to rotate the impact players in again, after they got some rest against Hertha on the weekend. Frankfurt is nothing special no more, lots of players underperforming. They are not easy to beat, but if there is a winner, it will be Gladbach imo. DNB is probably the better option.

315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: December 15, 2020, 12:47:45 PM
As to who will advance, I am favouring all the teams on the right apart from maybe Brugge, Eindhoven and Villareal.
How about Sociedad? I think they have what it takes to upset Man U and as a Gunner myself, I'm not that confident with our game against Benfica either [they haven't lost a single game while playing at home in UEL for a very long time, and given that Arsenal's recent home form is just "LLLL", it's going to be a tricky one].

I didn't say by how much I do favour them Grin Both these might get indeed very close, but in the end I have to give the edge to the english teams. ManU is very experienced in these kind of games and with maybe only one goal scored over two legs, I have more trust in ManU scoring it. Arsenal is of course in a huge slump these days, but lets see how they will do come February, they still have the quality. If both are in "normal" form, Gunners should advance imo.

Motivation does play a role in these games and also the situation in domestic league, so this is something to consider as well. Imagine Real Sociedad still sitting at/near the top of the table in 2 months - they might sacrifice the EL to concentrate on winning LaLiga or at least securing their CL spot for next year. Or imagine Arsenal still fighting to avoid relegation Grin

And I remember seeing this post on Reddit claiming there were 19 missed fieldgoals in week 1:
There have been 19 missed Field Goals (FG) in week 1 this year. What's the most missed FG in a single week in the NFL?

I just checked this one and it was 15 FG and 5 XP missed.
For this week, with Parkey adding to the list twice, we are at 13 FG and 7 XP missed now.

Maybe it's the unusual sight with (nearly) empty stands and/or the kickers not getting distracted by the home fans doing funny things between the goalposts, which then actually distracts them. In Basketball they were once talking about how these fans waving etc. behind the board is actually helping the players, because it makes their vision to the rim clearer. It's a fixed thing surrounded by moving elements (sorry can't explain better in english^^)

Talking about kickers, I really like that Koo guy from the Falcons. His legs are already impressive - being only 5-10 helps a bit in that regard - and he is 33/34 (97.1%) in FGs this season; missed 3 XP's though. Being just 26 y.o., he can kick the ball for another 20 years professionally^^

I think I'll start with the over 45.5 Grin
That's my line.  Tongue

If Lamar keeps doing what he did so far, the Ravens alone might score 46 Wink

318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 14, 2020, 10:33:20 PM
Dolphins are a very young team, the second youngest, and they lack a bit of experience (and the winning mentality) in the end. In Tennis you often see a walk in the park scoreline like 6-3 6-3, but total points won being rather close-ish, like 70-65. It's about the big points and thats what it's all about in NFL as well. The very good teams make those big points/plays and win close games this way. Dolphins will learn from this and grow with it as a team/unit. I think it's good for a young team to have these losses, it's beneficial longterm, although one can argue about this^^

I am wondering what the hell happened to Dan Bailey Cheesy Still remember him from his Cowboys days and he was a super reliable kicker, which always annoyed me a bit tbh. Nowadays he looks to be the worst kicker there is. He destroyed my over last week in MIN-JAX game, missing 2 PATs and 1 FG and yesterday he even topped that performance by missing 1 PAT and 3 FG's. And those misses yesterday weren't even close, they were way missed Cheesy

After all the praise the Giants got in the last weeks, they were put back to earth yesterday. DJ was as bad as it gets, the O-Line did an awful job and it took around half-time I think until the Giants ran a play in Arizonas side of the field. The Cardinals must have had an average starting position at NYG20 in first half. Sacks over sacks, fumbles etc, it was horrible to watch.

MNF is really a hard one and with all the love the Browns get in here, I am a bit hesitant to join this train, though I do like the Browns for tonight. What worries me, is that they opened at 1.95 ML during the week and are now 2.5+ in some places. Follow the money is not a bad strategy when it comes to NFL, but with 1.5x for the Ravens the value is probably gone (and should be on the Browns now maybe). I think I'll start with the over 45.5 Grin
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 14, 2020, 09:47:50 PM
From the general consensus I read above, looks like the 100 mbtc is to be split 50/30/20..

Joint finishing places, ie dead heats, lets talk about on Monday. but for now.. good luck!
So from the pool winners we have the split of prizes once again.
First prize is split between the ones who had 9 correct this week.

1st place w/9 correct picks: tomahawk9, Avirunes each receive 35mbtc as the 50mbtc was tied. checked a bit of juice on., plus 5mbtc free bet each
2nd place w/8 correct picks: -rdbase for 2nd place outright  30mbtc  plus 5mbtc free bet.
3rd place(s) w/7 correct picks:  ralle14, buwaytress, Trofo,   15,15,15.mbtc plus 5mbtc free bet each.

I don't understand this calculation Grin And I am not questioning the rules (up to SB/rdbase) nor do I claim to have any say in this, I am just wondering and think this should be clear for next week^^ It's super nice that SB sponsors these Xmas bonuses and is even paying out more than announced Shocked Makes this whole thing way more fun and increases the chances to get some BTC for us mediocre tipsters.

With my understanding, tomahawk9 and Avirunes should have gotten more, no ? The juice and freebets aside and having this 50/30/20 in mind, these two should have gotten 40mBTC each, since they share 1st and 2nd place (50+30mBTC). And then we have a 4-user-tie in 3rd place, where the 20mBTC would get shared.
It was the same last week, when we had 3 users at the top and they shared the 100mBTC amongst them; 33.34mBTC each.

It's the same in sports with the dead heat. If two athletes finish in first place, there is no second place then, but the next place is third. With the above calculation, it would theroretically be possible, that a user with fewer correct picks gets more mBTC, like:

9 correct picks: 5 users -> 10mBTC each
8 correct picks: 1 user -> 30mBTC

Do I miss something here ?
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 14, 2020, 03:58:17 PM
Would you say it's riskier to trust a complete newcomer coach to save the season than letting Favre finishing it?

Well, at least it's way easier to kind of control him^^ Zorc and Watzke are surely not the easiest persons to deal with, but they are the bosses, so as a coach of Dortmund you will always come out on the short end, if you don't get along with them and the results are bad-ish.

I don't think Dortmund is planning with Terzic longterm as of now, but will look for a more proven coach in the coming weeks. If Terzic is successful, then he might also stay, who knows. The problem is, there are not that many coaches available right now and judging by their history, they would want a german-speaking coach again - and this won't be Rangnick 100% Grin Marco Rose maybe.....
