302  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: April 29, 2015, 03:10:17 PM
I would set the p= in the password to 0.0110 to 0.0115 and let it roll. There have been spikes in SHA-256 the past 2 weeks at times to 30% over +.

i haven't played with the options like p= at all...but with the profit being -5% I thought I might.  so I set one of my s3's to be p=.011, saved/applied and then rebooted.

I don't know if .011 is really a good value.  would love peoples thoughts.

my s3 now shows that for westhash its "dead" and is mining at my secondary location.  How often does the s3 check on the primary mining location, westhash, to see if it should switch back to westhash for mining?

thoughts are absolutely welcome.

I would use 0.0115 myself--nice/westhash charges a fee, so you want to make sure you take that into consideration.  I use the calculator at bitcoinwisdom (on the diff page, top right) to determine what the 100% mark is per 1TH, then I bump that number up to make sure it's profitable.  YMMV, but this will help you catch the crazy 30%+ rental fees without you worry about wasting hash when it's less profitable.

I think you should all set it to 0.0070 or lower.  Wink

lololololololololololololol

Nope.

If i reboot they sometimes come back/show up temporarily.

Wacky.  I'm glad they are up and running for you now, either way!
305  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: April 27, 2015, 08:34:19 PM
Please somebody help

I can't see my SP20 on-line. I use 2 PSU (Corsair CX750M), but one of them apparently damage and now i can't enter to the interface to configure the unit (i even try with the link myminers.io and didn't results)

ime myminer.io is pretty pointless - none of mine show up there but Advanced IP Scanner finds them every time.

with DHCP enabled they hop all over the place

so try finding the IP using alternative means.

if they power up but wont boot up, you will need to try the SD-recovery. Its a bit of messing about but has solved numerous issues for myself & others.

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/tagged/recovery-sdcard

best of luck & come back with good news!

Are your miners sitting a different subnet than the machine you access miner.io from?  That is generally what breaks it--I don't think it can (or should) traverse subnets.

Your money has been stolen, you will never get it back. Time to move on unfortunately.
Agreed.  Let's move on here.  I lost BTC like everyone else.
307  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion. Paycoin XPY CoinStand Mineral. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 23, 2015, 04:24:50 PM

Looks like Josh was selling his toys too. All of Josh's cars seem to be up for sale at the same auto dealership here ... http://www.bluelinemotors.com/inventory.aspx?sold=0&pagesize=50

Probably costs to much to put them on a ship or plane overseas.

or maybe the cost to transfer license to new country cost to much or maybe they are not allowed or maybe just wants to fund a new company lol

I'm not sure why they would be for sale in NoVa, though.  Chantilly is not super close to his last known whereabouts.

Totally.  See my previous post in this thread.  Was going for some levity.

You nailed it--I was catching up at work and missed your response!

Based on the amount of mistakes in that complaint, GAW may have a chance at winning this suit unless the power company changes attorneys.  First sentence of the complaint contains a glaring mistake (Comes now Defendant . . . and files this complaint against Defendant).  Also, federal courts use case numbers, not cause numbers. I pulled the case up on Pacer - why is the power company's counsel filing entries of appearances almost a week after filing the complaint when complaints themselves are entries of appearance for plaintiffs represented by counsel?

BTW, for those are interested, no Answer or Motion to Dismiss has been filed by GAW as of this morning.  Its not clear whether there has been service yet as no affidavit of service has been filed either.  I could imagine the power company having not served the complaint yet, especially if they're worried about a discharge via bankruptcy or something.

IANAL, but I know more than I would like to admit.  Typos in filings happen frequently, and they are either amended or (more likely) the mistakes aren't even bothered with.  These little things will have no bearing on the suit.

Legal documents that do require more proof reading are mineral rights and land titles, for obvious reasons.

0.0004 BTC in last 24 hour with 1.2+ THs, is it just me ? I see no official message and looks like antpool's hashrate is fine for the last 2-3 days

Remember the days we had @ 150%?  This is just a manifestation of the how mining luck averages out.  It will continue to fluctuate, but at the end of the day it will balance out close to average.  For those of us with our own mining gear the worst thing we could do is pool hop, in my opinion, as the pool will (sooner rather than later) have higher than average luck again.

i dont ever recall any days where the luck was 150% i must have missed that the highest i ever recall seeing was maybe like 130% back in the day. Like you said luck does fluctuate but man i tell you what it is hard when it does lol. I have not personally done the math to see what it averages out but i am sure someone on here has

I m also concerned it average much less compared to other companies which pay fixed amount, like Genesis or Bit-X. I do not know how or why but there s no way to get 100% from last 10 days average.

PPS will be more consistent, but are you not paying a fee?  Most PPS (correct me if I'm wrong) pools charge a fee to cover their expenses as well as to buffer payouts between finding blocks.

You can check the stats at the bottom of the Antpool stat page, which should correlate to the Hashnest luck.  Here's what it looks like now:
Pool Lucky (24H / 3D / 1W / 2W / 1M / 3M / All Time) : 75.00% / 92.00% / 100.00% / 102.00% / 105.00% / 102.00% / 102.00%

So starting at the 1 week average, we're at 100% or higher.

The number of confirmations per block.  BM pays out after six confirmations.

what is BM ?

this one block is 120 confirmations  ?

Bitmain==BM

Each block will have x number of confirmations out of 120.  So 4/120 has had four confirmations out of 120, and Bitmain will pay miners from the block once it's reached six confirmations.

Garza looked like he tried to be a good CEO, too. He was pissed when he got word of customer service fails in his company. He educated his executives. He had something called a business plan.
Impossible.

He was pissed at early customer service fails because his business plan was to build up some good will to sucker people into a Ponzi scheme.
This makes sense to me--the con runs smoother the more legitimate a business appears.  That said, Homero did a phenomenal job finding just the right suckers.  They've tagged along longer than I ever imagine any person would.

Antpool web-based interface is stuck on zero. Seems to be mining though.

This happens occasionally, it'll clear up sooner rather than later.

Something interesting here. I know that the initial Email from Josh came out a while back, but I do not recall seeing the replies that are here. Josh states flat out the the $20 Floor was a promise made to sell Paycoin and that it can not be honored, yet they intend to proceed anyways. FRAUD, plain and simple.
I think there are more emails related to this one, I will continue to chase these after the next coat of paint here.

This is fraud, plain and simple.

congrats to the winner!

If they were only mining with one S3 talk about Luck! Looks like they stopped after hitting because I couldn't see the address listed. Smart to stop - no shot for that miner to hit a second time. (well maybe 5 yrs later)

Well, that's not exactly how randomness works...

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy

So much widespread...
Cheers for this--I was trying to recall the name of this phenomenon while playing a board game with my children last week.  They found it hard to believe that a previous roll had no effect on future rolls, or how likely they would be to roll sixes.  This'll teach those punks!

At what BTC price do they stop that pacmic contract which I was saving for... Maybe it's good I still haven't bought it..
I believe the PACMICs will run 120 days from the contract start date before they determine if the unit is turning a profit, then the ten-day grace period kicks in.  I may be incorrect, however.

Needless to say, I kicked everything over from compounding interest to paying out today....
