Looking for a computer to keep off the net except for coin transactions. I found some ideal note books but they have Windows 8 and Google Chrome on them already. I don't want any snoop software on my computer monitoring me. What would be better or am I being paranoid? Heightened awareness in my opinion.

one of the checking account I linked had no funds on it. Which sucks because the coins appreciated at a significant rate and I lost all of that earned appreciation with no notice at all, and I easily could've bought them with my funds in my other acct. When you bought your coins you selected the empty account. That is probably the root of your problems with CoinBase. I only have one account linked, so I'm not 100% sure you select the account before buying BTC or not. So far. CoinBase is the only exchange that I haven't had any problem with. It looks to me like CoinBase is just making sure you're not a ripoff artist. So just go through the steps they are telling you to implement.

The changed it 24 hours BEFORE they accepted any orders.
People got refunds from them so I want one too. Don't care Did you pay with Paypal and or CC? I don't know if anyone has got a refund paying Bitcoin or Cash. I paid via a wire transfer. I guess you would check with the Bank to see what your options are.

I see the biggest problem of bitcoin primarily being general acceptance, which all of us should be exercising our brains and talents to change. Else mining will become useless. There needs to be more and easier ways to use it DIRECTLY as money, not just a few vendors and a few services. It needs to become as ubiquitous as VISA. There are some technical hurdles to this, outside of internet sales, due to the time of confirmation and some other things, but I am confident that the talent pool represented by this community is capable of overcoming them. https://www.bitmit.net/en/recenthttp://www.amagimetals.com/https://www.billpayforcoins.com/

Why buy hardware if you don't have faith and a belief that BTC will go up ? otherwise, regardless of what you pay for hardware,,,it will be a loosing proposition and only depreciate quickly without a rise in BTC value. And if you are fortunate you may have a small window of time to get a ROI, that is" IF BTC doesnt go up. If BTC it does go up, than its all good or at least enough rise in value to keep in step with the difficulty rise...thats all...simple... If the BTC goes up enough. It is possible that you won't be able to buy it. One coin a month mining could be all you need to get filthy rich. And all the jackals who bailed out might just regret it.

Why not just download a new wallet to the new computer and send the coins as a transaction?

Yes difficulty is rising, but so is the price of BTC. Since it's inception, BTC has basically doubled in value each year. Think about what that would mean for next year. Not bad ROI. In addition to mining, I'm using a bot to trade BTC and it's doing very well. Diversification is the key to success in any investment.
Irrelevant. If you need BTC price to rise above the price it was at when you made your purchase to break even or make a profit you made the wrong choice. Not if you are investing in BTC for the long run. ASIC sellers are not selling ROI, they are selling products that mine Bitcoins. I'm in Bitcoin for the long run, and I expect that my miners will more than make ROI in the long run. If someone got into this to make a quick buck (which is clear that many people did), they are in the wrong state of mind for an investor. Especially if you are investing in the long run. There is no scenario in that case for which you are better off buying mining equipment. Its a bust if you require the pirce to go up to make your money back or see a gain. You either have to get your equipment in a reasonable time frame. Good luck with that. That almost never happens. They could keep the equipment and mine with it until it's almost useless. Claim they don't have chips. Or the price of Bitcoin could go to an outrageous price making it impossible to buy but you would still be able to mine.

I have requested a refund for close to 30k of hardware from Terrahash, I urge everyone to do the same.
FUKT, Your orders were cancelled the first week after June 18th because of non-payment. As far as I can recall, you were trying to sell your positions in the order queue for a decent price. No one bought them, and TH cancelled your order numbers since no payment had been made. Did you have other orders that weren't listed on Cryptoin's database? If not, I don't think its fair to newer people here to make it sound like you have just decided to cancel 30k of your orders. Those orders never took place because there was no payment made. According to this spread sheet list he cancelled long ago. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiyRS_8Y_814dGM0cU5KdFJTVlpWeG9LSDJKYnNmMkE#gid=5So he either. Changed his mind about a refund and is now changing back to refund. Never paid. He can't get a refund because he paid with another method besides PayPal CC. Bitcoin would be the worst.

Isn't their some way to find out exactly who is holding up those chips? why no tracking number? Whoever chose to hold up those chips (if they are truly being held up in customs) should be held accountable.

well I am just about to hit another 700 Feathercoins, so you know what that means a BTC in the ol wallet coming right up! lol Nice. My miners are already back to Litecoin. My Litecoin miner blew up last night. I am officially out of the business till I find a power supply. You have something in common with TH's part supply.... no power supplies. Instead of using a computer type power supply. Why not use something like this with plenty of amps? You need about 15 amps for 10 64's with fans. http://www.magnalight.com/showproduct.aspx?productid=1494&gclid=CPiZi96e_rgCFS9eQgodU0UARQ

I just checked and my bank shows a refund of $1000.42 The money may already be in your bank. Shows no change on Bitfloor.
|
|
|
Checked my account after reading this thread. Got my ~$100 today. At least according to my bank account, and it's not pending. According to Bitfloor, the deposit is still under review. I just looked and I have my $1000.42 back after they charged me $5 more dollars. As long as the Bank says it's there it should be ok. On my Bitfloor account it still says "Under Review". wooohhh! I can't believe I got my money back from those beat nicks. Maybe their is a God.

I wish the FBI would figure it out. But they're probably to busy false flagging and spying on innocent citizens.

Coinbase has the lowest fees. Coinbase is the easiest and best.

I was under the impression that Blockchain was one of the more 'professional' outfits out there.
Professional thieves in my opinion. I no longer will do business with them. Evey time I bought BTC from them I always received less coins than they said I would get. My wallet went down in value a fraction of coins more than once. So far I haven't had any trouble with Coinbase and recommend them only. I know of many who claim to have their accounts hacked with BTC-E. So I never will do a large trade on their site. Just take your money else where. Tell others and report them to proper authorities.

Im having terrahash host my device. I cant remember if they asked for a payout address or not. I know it doesnt say anything about payout addresses on the order details..
Will terrahash be asking for a payout address when they start shipping to their hosting location?
I'm sure that's the plan. They say they will send it to your address every 2- 3 days. I'm wondering if they have a Data Center yet? With low cost electricity to cover the $10 per month/ 64 board fee offered? How long for Avalon and Klondike to send the hardware?

Have they receive the new revised PCB board yet ?
They have all the parts needed to produce the boards and are 100% ready for when the chips arrive. Again, they were very confident in their ability to get the customers their finished product asap. Thanks for the effort. But did they shows you a prototype of the board hashing at full speed (350mhz)?
No they didn't but I also didn't ask to see one. Again 350 is the MAX the board will do without additional cooling. I'm not sure if that is what they will be hashing at when they arrive at your house. I'm sure we will know more very soon as Avalon Chips start to arrive and they are in production. Sounds like it's 350MHZ per chip. So a 16 chip board would hash at 5.6 GHZ. And a 64 chip board would be 22.4 GHZ. This is as high as it will go without special cooling. I would expect the boards will be at least as fast as advertised on their site.

I don't really need a 1250 PSU for a K64, right? I was thinking a 250 would work fine, as the boards are the only thing I need to power with my planned setup.
Im starting with a 550 watt dual rail 38 amps for, 2 k16, 2 k64's = 320 watts pulled....so.... even if over clocked down the rd,,,still plenty of room....ya even an old 250 will be enough for a singe k64. Some in here are going out and buying godly PSU's for a few boards.... i know a quality one is best though, so it doesn't blow and take out your boards with it...always that chance with any however.... Why not just use a DC Power Supply?
