301  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Bitcoin Miners : alternative usage ? on: July 14, 2013, 01:14:05 PM
No it can only be used for mining bitcoin and SHA-256 altcoins.

It cannot be used for hacking, cracking, backtracing, etc.

Sadly no other use.  So mine all u can.

Thank you very much. By the way, just to understand it technically, can you advice me any article / post explaining why altcoins hashing is specific (in other words, why a chip as ASIC couldn't compute for another hash ?) ?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Hello all,

I beg your pardon in case this question already has an answer somewhere else on this forum, but I wanted to know :

I pre-ordered an ASIC Miner (KnC Miner).

I was wondering : finally, is there another usage ? how to exploit this ASIC power (GH/s) ?

Is it usable for another usage as passwords hashes cracking ? (Didn't search about ASIC support by such software)

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

XZed

This also goes back to the possibility that they may be trying to hide advancements or NRE developments made while processing that they want to remain as proprietary.

It's the hypothesis giving me hope Smiley

You said.... "I thought being reading the specs of the AX1200 I bought for it ..."
which is why I showed it to you... also....
Sam posted that on July 1st,(see top of post) so "next week" is now, not June
(Which is why I'm so excited about an improvement on 100GH/s and 250w per chip),
because those specs were given on june 26th news.

I suppose you could power more than one unit with a biggie like that...like 3 saturns...
who knows.

OK thx Smiley

Oh crap..  Got all excited for nothing..  Sad

(I'm guessing this friday?)

Don't worry : PSU was bought for another usage mainly Smiley.

By the way, "next week" was referring to June Smiley

Hello All !

After readind (and reading again) so many posts, I decided to buy a KnC Miner.

Even if I was quite afraid, A lot of threads, in this forum, relieved me Smiley.

Right now, I want to follow-up the KnC Miner pre-orders, as other buyers.

And I want to contribute to the post listing orders.

I have still a lot of posts to read Smiley.

See you soon.

Sincerely,

XZed
