301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Longtime bitcoin holder starting to question the future on: March 18, 2021, 10:29:34 PM
Saw this:

I'm a long-time bitcoin holder, like many I wish I had bought and held more back in the day but I feel very fortunate to have always kept a core holding and never have sold. The mantra used to be "spend and replace" and I would do that, I found ways to use bitcoin wherever I could.

This whole narrative around bitcoin has changed since 5+ years ago, I just can't wrap my head around "the utility IS as a store of value", it does not make sense to me. At least before when people would ask "why does it have value", my answer was always, its super easy to transfer to anyone in the world, no middle man, nobody can stop you, its relatively fast (10-15 min), and FINALLY it has a limited supply, no central bank can print it.

I really do believe that the utility comes BEFORE the store of value, you need both to have sound money, not just one. The only hope of BTC is that the lightning network actually works, but I have my doubts. I'm open-minded, I don't know if BCH has all the answers either, we are still early in this crypto-revolution, who knows what the world will be like in 20 years and what crypto currency eventually wins out in the end.

Your thoughts?

We all of course question the future and get very curious about what is going to happen for the money we use mostly and at what position cryptocurrencies will be. Their system is the most important thing that draws people's attention to themselves in the end, I think. And imo, it looks like there is no way that fiat money will always continue to exist. It is inevitable that we are going to use digital currencies in the future. And I expect the cryptocurrencies to be good alternatives for the digital currencies that will be developed by the governments.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'The Simpsons' know who Satoshi Nakamoto is! on: March 18, 2021, 10:18:02 PM
Most of their predictions within past decades have come true to this present day. Its like the producers of this popular cartoon tv show have a crystal ball or something.

In one scene in a episode I don't know which season it shows a crypto holder buying a jet ski with a device that looks like a ledger nano or hardware wallet or whatever. The crypto holder must be rich to walk in a shop and buy his own jet ski lol.

But in that episode the producers wrote a message on screen saying they know who Satoshi Nakamoto is  Shocked

I believe in a future episode they will reveal who Satoshi is when Btc at its price peak or something, who knows?

I'd also very like to learn like many people who really Satoshi Nakamoto is. But I don't think that they actually know that.  Grin  It must have been just for fun that they said they know who Satoshi is but they are not telling. I know that The Simpsons has guessed incredible things correctly so far but I don't think this is also one of them.
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC seems to be fading out and loosing popularity. on: March 18, 2021, 10:07:39 PM
It is really true that many people started changing their direction to the altcoins and searching ways for making good profits from them. Wherever I look, I see people who have invested in an altcoin which is said to have a big potential.  Grin  However, there are still people who choose to invest in BTC also. It is really hard to say that a person is late or not late at all for investing in BTC for now. Because we still don't know where we will see the price reaching the highest ATH.
304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price would hit $288,000 this year, according to this metric on: March 18, 2021, 10:02:26 PM
In the middle of the bull market, the big question of the moment is what price bitcoin (BTC) will reach in the coming months. And for the creator of the Stock-to-Flow or Reserves vs. Flow prediction model, by December we could be seeing the main cryptocurrency around $288,000.

It is a really big prediction to be honest. I actually don't have an expectation more than 100k dollars for this year but it a very nice analysis we are talking about. Of course, Bitcoin price doesn't fit every analysis but who knows maybe this one could turn out to be right.  Grin
305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying 1 BTC is ‘like owning 60 cars? on: March 18, 2021, 09:49:10 PM
Francisco Blanch has made some interesting statements with the idea that he wants to destroy bitcoin, which has provoked bitcoin fans!
He has said that bitcoin as a wealth is not suitable for storage and is even weaker in financial transactions than people think. It is only able to process 1,400 transactions per hour, while the visa is processed with 236 million transactions.Francisco Blanch also considers bitcoin biodegradable due to its high energy consumption!
What do you think about it?

Source:https://cointelegraph.com/news/bank-of-america-analyst-slams-bitcoin-buying-1-btc-is-like-owning-60-cars

Then why doesn't he explain the reason so many people are using Bitcoin, many are very interested in it and the number of the users continues to increase as time goes on? And I don't think it is a true thing to compare Bitcoin with VISA. When it comes to energy consumption, some people still behave like there is only Bitcoin that is consuming too much electric right now. Besides, VISA made a statement like they will be starting to accept Bitcoin. It is another big thing for Bitcoin adoption also. It is really funny to see that there are still people like this doing whatever they can to degrade Bitcoin and the market.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk name once again used to fool people by hackers! on: March 18, 2021, 09:30:19 PM
It is really unbelievable to see that still many people fall for these very obvious tricks. Really, how could you expect Elon Musk to offer you doubling the crypto you have if you send the amount to him? It is really strange.  Grin  And I'm afraid it doesn't look like there will be no people left believing this kind of things.
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL ₿itcoin for Life, not for Lifetime. on: March 16, 2021, 01:08:44 PM
Most crypto users are familiar with the HODL (Hold On for Dear Life). It's a good thing if you can HODL. I want to say HODL for dear life, not for lifetime. There is a reason why am I saying that. During the last bull run in 2017, I had more than enough funds to start a real life business by selling my Bitcoin. And to be honest, starting a real life business was too important for me since I was doing a job abroad. But sadly, I was greedy and had been waiting for more bumps. Eventually, I regret and now I can't do anything with that fund since bought a dew worthless shitcoin.

So if I HODL for dear life, then I should sell it for my need. Even I would won more BTC now since there were many opportunities when bitcoin dropped up to $3K.

What's your opinion? Should we HODL for Life or for Lifetime?

I agree with this very much really. Being greedy is one of the worst and most damaging things for a person who invests in a cryptocurrency. HODLing is the most sensible thing to do especially if you have some amount of Bitcoin. You should wait patiently for a few years if necessary and you will get the reward for your patience. Otherwise, you will probably be very regretful for wanting more and not selling at the right time as it happened to me once.  Grin
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: March 16, 2021, 01:01:48 PM
In my opinion, some of the biggest reasons that ordinary people afraid of BTC are its being much more different than the usual currencies and its being too volatile. There are so many people all around the world who have no idea about Bitcoin because of its totally different structure. And when you say that 'it is decentralized', many people look at you like 'How is it possible?'. If those people take the necessary education for learning about cryptocurrencies correctly or they do a good research about them, they would really understand what is meant by saying decentralized etc. and how its system works.
309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Bitcoiner into the world on: March 16, 2021, 12:48:34 PM
Happy to inform you all, my wife delivered a boy baby at 11:39am. For sure he's gonna be a Bitcoiner in the coming days. Myself have lots of failed experience out of gambling, and I'm here to express my hope of making him big in the cryptomarket. Already there might be parents who are educating people with good thing about cryptocurrencies. Let us make the world good, giving the right knowledge about cryptocurrencies. Keep us in your prayers.

With Love

Congrats, mate! I hope he could have a successful and healthy life in the future.  Smiley  And, I believe it is very important for people from every age to be educated about Bitcoin and also the great technology behind it, Blockchain. Digital currencies are our future in the end and it is better to learn about them earlier.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM in a gas station on: March 16, 2021, 12:43:32 PM
The use of bitcoin ATM is becoming more and more popular in the cities and the latest is a bitcoin ATM installed in a gas station in the Montana and delis, having a bitcoin ATM in a gas station is another milestone for the entire usage of bitcoin what I can tell is if one can pay for gas using bitcoin in the station but the fact is bitcoin is gaining widespread adoption. What are your takes on this new development.

I think we will continue to see news like this much more in the future and it is one of the important things for Bitcoin adoption in as many countries as possible. And it is also a smart thing to put a Bitcoin ATM in a gas station to draw people's attention to it and incentivize them to pay with Bitcoin.
311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc will be 120000 USD maximum this 2021 on: March 16, 2021, 12:36:11 PM
I have researched and its my personal research. as per the conclusion . BTC will be 120K in this bull run. But if a government ban or somthing happended it may vary.

How about your thoughts?

Such a long-term rise in the price of Bitcoin has not happened since 2013. However, Bitcoin seems prepared for a downward momentum, according to many people.

Due to the weak basic technical characteristics, it would not be a surprise to see how the price of BTC again tested the low value from February 28 at 43,200 dollars to push some owners out of the market.

If BTC gains momentum instead, the short-term profit targets are fib extension levels of 1.618 and 2.618 of the current adjustment. These price targets are $ 67,000 and $ 81,500, respectively.

The key to closing the price of Bitcoin with its sixth consecutive positive month will be the level of support formed by the convergence of the 50-day moving average and the highest value since January 8 around $ 42,500.

It is a nice analysis first of all. The 67k-dollar target actually seems like not too hard for Bitcoin for now as it just reached a new ath three days ago ($61,683). I believe that we can see the price to reach the first target soon. But I think it may be quite hard for it to reach $81,500 in a few months at least.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: March 16, 2021, 12:31:27 PM
It is nice to hear about some people that they choose to HODL and reap the benefit of it. I also do the same sometimes for rewarding myself. It is also very important to observe the price and be careful for not losing your investment by selling it at the right time.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week on: March 16, 2021, 12:26:54 PM
You are doing a really nice thing as smoking has no benefit for you but buying Bitcoin has. You can do a really big investment in time and I also believe that you will make a really good profit if you are patient and like HODLing. I have never smoked in my life and don't even think about it at all. And I also invest in Bitcoin which helped me make a nice profit so far.  Grin
314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 13, 2021, 09:50:58 AM
Lazio are playing really great against Crotone right now and they just got ahead again and it is 3-2 now. Despite Lazio's having a too much dominance, Crotone still managed to score 2 goals somehow but Lazio seem really determined to win this. There are only a few minutes left for the final whistle and if Lazio win this, they will decrease the point diff with Napoli to 1 and start hoping for them to lose points against Milan.
Lazio beat Crotone 3-2. Now the Lazio team is just 1 point behind Napoli.
In the other match, Atlanta beat Spezia. Atalanta won the match 3-1. Juventus and Atlanta are now in the points table with equal points. It looks like the season will become more competitive day by day.

Juventus are going to play their match against Cagliari away tomorrow and if they lose points there could be a good chance for Atalanta to get past them in the table. But Juventus still have an additional missing match too which makes them still advantageous compared to Atalanta. I hope we can see the same competition for the championship also until the last week.  Grin
315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League Thread on: March 12, 2021, 04:06:24 PM

Blackburn vs Brentford is real engima match for me but odds suggest Brentford is favorite this time and I would agree with them but tradition is more on Blackburn side.
Problem for Blackburn is that they are missing best striker Armstrong with other important players and they lost only one in last nine matches.
Brentford should be more fresh in this match because they played previous nine days ago, and Blackburn had to play with Swansea in midweek.
Both teams have great attacks and not so good defences so I expect them both to score and I will stay away from choosing a winner.
My bet: Both team to score; over 2.5 goals.

Adam Armstrong has 19 goals in 32 league matches and it will be harder for Blackburn to get even one point as he is injured. However, Brentford haven't had a decent form in the recent times. But they can see this as a nice chance to get another win. Because they are at the 4th place now and 3 points away from the 2nd, Watford. They need to get as many as good results to be able to take the 2nd place again and promote to the EPL without playing playoff games. Their previous head-to-head ended 2-2. I think Brentford will succeed in winning the match with 1-goal difference this time.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 12, 2021, 03:54:10 PM
Lyon also can make use of the situation that there is a huge match between Monaco and Lille. They are gonna play against Reims away tonight and most probably they won't have any problem to win this match. If Lille lose points against Monaco, Lyon will only be 1 point behind them or have the equal points.

Imo, after the matches of this week, the top 3 will be like this:

1. PSG - 63 pts
2. Lille - 63 pts
3. Lyon - 62 pts

I am curious who the big favorite will be to win this competition. Ajax played a very nice and good game but their opponent was weak. maybe Man united, but they will have a hard time to advance against AC Milan.

Ajax actually eliminated a harder opponent which was Lille before this round. But I'd also like to see them against teams like Roma, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester Utd/Milan. When it comes to Manchester Utd-Milan, if Milan didn't score their goal in the last minute (90+2'), Manchester Utd were going to have an important advantage. But now things are much different and even getting a 0-0 score or any kind of win will be enough for Milan to advance. I can't wait to see the rematch.  Cheesy
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 12, 2021, 03:33:42 PM
Manchester City are going to have the rematch against Gladbach in their home stadium and they have a 2-0 score advantage as we all know. They didn't tire themselves much when they got this result. I also understand Gladbach as they have an opponent which is one of the favorites for winning the CL so they don't have much to do against City. They still did a good job by making it to this round and Manchester City will finish the job by getting another win I think.

Sergio Aguero is getting close to join Barcelona on free transfer this summer the 32yo striker could help making Messi stay in for more seasons at Barcelona.

Sergio Aguero could be a reason for Messi to stay but it won't be enough I think. Because Barcelona need to strengthen the starting lineup much more to be able to be more competitive for the CL and to convince Messi for not leaving and continuing to fight for the team.
