Yeah but if you had 50BTC and it went to 5000USD, are you saying you would cash out 100% of it just to retire? Could you live with the doubt of it reaching 10K and missing on legit gains? And if you do not cash out, could you live off the doubt of it crashing after 5k? It's a psychological game.

The 1K milestone was the psychological barrier, and it was beaten. Given the moment in history we are, and given the intrustive technology behind BTC and what it all means, once we break 1K again, consolidation will ensue, all these ridiculous doubts will vanish, and those that sold will be butthurt in levels unknown to mankind. Once that barrier is crossed again, sky is the motherfucking limit.

I believe that in the future 1 full BTC will have a value too high for the regular people. They will can afford to purchase only fractions of 1 BTC, like BITS ( http://www.coindesk.com/breaking-down-btc-bit-by-bit/ ) Only the lucky ones who are holding will hit the jackpot Do you think in 2024, you'll be able to buy a car and a house with 1 BTC? thats what matters. It's all about purchasing power, not some USD equivalence.

Exactly, there will always be someone that will try to collect all of them. Imagine owning an entire currency, even if a deceased one, it would be the first crypto currency. It would have historical value. I think there would be people wanting to pay a big amount for it, just like a museum.

Yup, the best that can be done is to buy a decent amount, say 10, then cold storage it, FORGET about it, then come back 10 years later, see what happened. You either wasted a lot of money or you either won SHIT TONS of money. Of course, the tentation to not follow the BTC world once you are in is almost impossible.

Actually thanks to Stunna im paying some bills with BTC, is not much but the little im making with the sig campaings is a very nice help for me. Thank BTC

Bitcoin is freedom you can actually buy. I hope it will remain free and not perverted into something else by lobbyists. Freedom is on a decline trend globally. So we should remain watchful that essential aspects of bitcoin (full fungibility) are not destroyed by the authoritarian and ignorant. ya.ya.yo! How in hell could they pervert something that is open source tho? Everyone would lose trust as soon as it went closed source in future updates so that is a nono. Henceforth, as long as it remains open source, regulations are kinda pointless, since you are free to do whatever the fuck you want with your BTC, no matter how many regulations they come up with.

My BTC balance is a secret But I can tell you that most of what I have has been put into altcoins, the majority of which is Monero (XMR) I still have my XMR which I bought ages ago. Still not seeing legit gains. Of course I had to buy in the middle of the first bubble, fucking bad luck from hell damnit.

I would say Never even if I'am new on Bitcoin ... but I see that it was about 600$ last month ... and it's dropping badly this month 480$-520$ so .. yep It's rising, 518$ now. These flucuations are normal in bitcoin. If we have a big rise like in the beginning now, we would end at around 2000$. 10.000$ is far away but I wouldn't say never. At the same time, fiat is suffering from inflation.. so I hope BTC rises faster than fiat inflates I really don't understand how someone Annonymus made this BitCoin .. they don't even know how he looks like .. & all the world is using it dosen't make a lot of sense to me . but I really wanna see BTC rising haha , I started buying some Why do you need to see how he looks like to use it? Exactly. Also, the bitcoin core program is open source, and so you can check every line of the code if you want to. Yeah, thats what you need to see, the code, not how Satoshi looks like. Is this Ms Bitcoin Pageant or what? lol.

Most people are really curious when they see these machines, they are usually dumbfounded, im just hoping they aren't as shitty as the ones on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnm4xFC2xNoBecause shit like this can ruin Btc adoption.

I see a nice support now at around that area. We shall wait and see to see if we are walking on legit waters or not. I would HODL for sure.

If you want to do escrow without reputation, you can always make a deposit with a trustworthy escrow, this way people will trust you up to the amount you deposited. Slowly, people might start trusting you even without the deposit.
But then why would people use your new escrow service instead of that experienced trustworthy escrow? Yeah, there is always a risk when you use a escrow that hasn't been timetested by a lot of people, but with this paranoid mentality there would be no new successful business ever, everyone has to start from scratch once (unless you are born rich )

What you need to do is to do a backup of your entire Bitcoin folder (located by putting %appdata% in the search thing in the windows icon) so you dont have to constantly download the whole blockchain everytime you format or reinstall windows.
Or just get Electrum.

I have thought about what would happend if you gave every kid at class a decent amount of BTC. Would they keep it, or would they inmediately cash out and buy the new Xbox One videogame?

Will Bitcoin ever be popular among the average joe and young people (teens, a big big part of the internet generation)
|
|

bitcoin was the first one, so everything else is altcoin. It was not actually the first one, I remember there were other people trying to come up with a similar thing. Bitcoin was the first one to do it right tho, and get the bigger adoption. SO yeah, I could understand people that say its the first one.

I don't think the number is wide by any means. If we had actual data, girls would be a minority IMO. Most people active in the BTC world are still legit geeks.

I always wonder how the hell the world will be like in 2140. We'll never know
