It will never be $10,000 because other coins will take hold and reduce the demand on BTC.  The only way BTC would reach such astronomical amounts is if there weren't any competition.  It's like if all of a sudden all fiat other than the US dollar just vanished and for some reason the only money that was allowed to be used were the US dollar... well all of a sudden the US dollar would be worth 10K times what it is now :-)

Now, the more digital $ replaces fiat then certainly all digital $ will benefit and increase in value.  Just not like everyone thinks though.  BTC won't be the only benefactor.

When some more scammers can build market building bots like Willie on Mt Gox then the price will go up.

Right now it is the real free market.  It will go up if it is widely adopted.

It will take a major player to enter the game, either be the greedy ass Wall Street guys not wanting to miss the boat once they realize the real potential of BTC, or something like eBay accepting payments. Check for these type of news. Right now whales are being feed cheap BTC.

Very true. We need more and more big companies to take bitcoin seriously.
We already have Newegg, Tigerdirect, Dell, Overstock, Dish, etc, but we need more like eBay, Google, FB, etc.

I'm pretty sure these companies are monitoring potential of Bitcoin very closely and they'll enter the game sooner than we think.
That will be a game changer.

It's rising, 518$ now. These flucuations are normal in bitcoin. If we have a big rise like in the beginning now, we would end at around 2000$. 10.000$ is far away but I wouldn't say never. At the same time, fiat is suffering from inflation.. so I hope BTC rises faster than fiat inflates

While it is very possible that on the next spike we will see the price reaching or going above $10k, it is likely not going to happen in 2015.
The adoption has been slower than expected. I'm assuming such a price is possible after an real ETF opens up.
