301  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official Money Lost in Mt. GOX Thread on: February 25, 2014, 08:21:54 AM
wow some serious money "lost" but wait, money is never "lost". who got the coins and the money? they were never hacked, right? where is the money?
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whose got all this Bitcoin to dump? Three simple answers on: February 25, 2014, 08:12:17 AM
Coinbase is processing their transactions.  Coinbase is selling far more than $1m worth of Bitcoin's per month, Bitcoin falling has absolutely nothing to do with Overstock.

Bitcoin moved 30% today alone. This morning it was over $600 and tonight its just over $400. Are you saying additional $1M in BTC sales cant affect the price of BTC? while being the strongest crypto it is still very fragile to get burnt by real B&M type of business. It needs a lot more support than that.
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Whose got all this Bitcoin to dump? Three simple answers on: February 25, 2014, 07:30:49 AM
BTC is falling. Who has all this BTc to sell? Three Simple Answers, you guys tell me the others:

  • Tigerdirect
  • Overstock
  • Gyft

They are not Bitcoin believers, they are corporations, they just use BTC to sell more goods. Those BTC miners who would normally not bother to sell their BTC on Bitstamp and Coinbase, now have an easy way of getting an XBOX or a TV with it on Tigerdirect or Overstock.com so they go for it.

In fact Overstock must sell $1,000,000 worth of Bitcoins for the first month alone so it is all getting dumped on major exchanges:

http://www.techspot.com/news/55763-overstock-does-nearly-1-million-in-bitcoin-sales-in-first-month.html

No actual dollar amounts on TIGERDIRECT yet as they just started accepting it. One TD gets added to the million dollar BTC sellers, it will get worse.

And this trend will not end any time soon but will actually accelerate. Overstock will continue to sell BTC as miners go there to cash out for goods. More BTCs get mined daily and Overstock and TD will have to continue to sell more on the exchanges. They will not hold on to them because they still dont value BTC as a currency but some form of GOODs that has value and needs to be sold to pay rent and employees, well, unless they accepted BTC? huh? A currency needs a full cycle. BTC doesnt have that yet.

I sure hope no other retailer accepts BTC any time soon and in fact I hope TD and Overstock stop.

Why people think I have run off I will never know. Still very active.

Well 2 weeks ago people thought you ran off. You have not made a single post in the past 4 days.

In fact you created your profile the day CASH coin was created.

Here is your profile:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=224185

Now you are dumping all your instamined coins? Enjoy the BTC. I was stupid to buy this POS coin from you using my valuable BTC fractions.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH a unique Crypto currency! **1.1 Client is mandatory** on: February 25, 2014, 07:07:48 AM
I just noticed my portfolio got a serious hit on Cryptsy, it was all because of CASH falling like nuts. Now 68000 with almost no support down to 6300.

I guess the instaminers and preminers started dumping again.

I cant believe this P.O.S was trading at 50,000 (that's 50 THOUSAND with a T) Satoshi at one point. When I came here to invest and ask why its trading at a ridiculous amount of 23,000!!!! Satoshi at the time instead of like 50 Satoshi a few mocked me and said I dont understand Crypto. Well, they were wrong of course.

And while holding a TON of CASH I still ask, why the FK does this trade at such a ridiculously high price of 6000 Satoshi??? Thats 6 THOUSAND like each CASH is worth 30 times one DOGE?? WTF??
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH a unique Crypto currency! **1.1 Client is mandatory** on: February 25, 2014, 06:58:13 AM
Just is case you are not watching, CASH is falling fast. Little support left at 7,000 Satoshi. Still sounds like a ridiculously high price.

Soon to crash below 6,000, almost no buyers , just fake 1.xxx cash buy orders
307  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinBase Ran Out Of Coins ... [BLANK STARE] on: February 25, 2014, 06:48:26 AM
I missed dips in the market because of research, because of security, because of documentation, and because of bad timing, but NOW when I think I have all of my ducks in a row just when I'm about to pull the trigger (on some $515. btc)  Coinbase says:

'sorry, we're sold out'

What??   It's 4pm on a Monday, get to transferring some coin from safe 'B' to safe 'A'.

Dagnamit!

I love your positive attitude but Overstock and Tigerdirect have started to dump massive amounts of Bitcoin trying to immediately cash out. They are two major US stores who accept bitcoins now. So keep watching because Bitcoins will continue dropping because people are now spending them.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to solo mine flappycoins? on: February 25, 2014, 06:06:14 AM
OK, ill check that out, i thought most p2pool servers had high fees, perhaps not.
My pool has a 2% fee, im thinking of changing.

I have never been able to set up p2pool, no one actually gives the basic info on how to set it up. Plus apparently P2Pool requires you to install the stupid Wallet for every coin you want to mine which is 1. retarded 2. increases your chances of getting a Trojan from a scam coin by X folds. I just use my exchange pool address.

Switch to flap.hash.so I am mining there and like it a lot. The only pool that lets you switch the coin you are mining on the fly without going to your RIG, you can switch from any web browser like directly from your phone.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is this Exchange bribery culture??? on: February 24, 2014, 11:51:58 PM
Its all part of the altcoin scam that is going on right now.

These guys work in teams.

Coin is announced
Coin is launched with a premine for marketing/promo etc.
Pools are paid off as well as exchanges.
Coin is pumped with marketing, giveaways and other things.
Premine is dumped crashing the coin.
The coin is abandoned and a new coin is started.

But asking for bribes for your coin to be considered sometime in the future, MAYBE, is complete BS.

Why are the mods allowing this? I dont get it.

Alcrypt is not even an EXCHANGE for FK sake!
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: dogecoin LIED and created the illusion of popularity when no-one liked it on: February 24, 2014, 11:20:48 PM
I agree with OP, its not like DOGE had any real backing like NYAN has millions of followers or FLAP has gazillion lovers who pay $1000 for a mini ipad with the game installed on it. I mean that kind of support would be a reason for DOGE to go up that high.

iPhone 5 sold for $3,500 just for flappy game:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iphone-5-16-gig-unlocked-FLAPPY-game-BIRD-24-HOUR-AUCTION-/291086658750?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item43c61decbe

What does DOGE have to how for? Meme?

Bitcoin could learn from Dpge What TiVo learned the hard way -- nobody cares about a brilliant idea or revolutionary technology if it's marketed in a way that doesn't appeal.

Linux and Android advocates need to understand that this is why Windows and iOs can and will continue to dominate consumer space.

Linux is pretty useless outside of certain specific server applications. I even used it on my RIG for a month and that was a full month of frustration uintil I discovered Windows 8.1. OOOOF what a relief.

Android is there to only serve one purpose and that is Google's ad revenue. Most of its useful parts are slowly being removed like the USB mounting, WIFI tether, File explorer, while its browser quality just gets worse year over year with no improvement. It's still lacking basic stuff like copy and paste and "browse" to attach a file. After 5 years of "waiting for Android to get better" my next phone is iPhone 6 (if it has 5" screen) or Windows 8.1.

312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New altcoins - where is any POS one? on: February 24, 2014, 10:23:46 PM
So many new coins and no one has POS... We need a new coin with POS, not only POW! Cheesy

Why do you want POS? Its a gimmick.

For example a coin that gives you 5% for free, it gives EVERYONE that 5% for free. Basically it means the coin is guaranteed to lose min 5% every year. That 5% is in addition to any goins or losses. So if a coin with 5% POS goes up 17% for example in a year, then without POS it would've gone up 22%.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WTF is this Exchange bribery culture??? on: February 24, 2014, 10:19:11 PM
So what is up with the new exchanges (or semi-future exchanges) and the culture of bribing? Here are a few examples constantly promoted (possibly by the site owners under several usernames they created themselves):

mintpal.com
cryptorush.in
allcrypt.com/beta/voting.php <- Not even an exchange!!)

The last one is not even an exchange. Its a FUTURE exchange (who knows if it will ever be) but is already asking you to pay them off to get your coin listed.

Voting for your coin to be listed is fine. PAYING FOR YOUR VOTE or extra vote is not.

I propose that these bribery sites be banned altogether from bitcointalk.org. Please show your support. This is probably one of the reasons why people on the bitcoin side think altcoins are full of scam artists.

From WIKIPEDIA:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bribery
"Bribery is an act of giving money or gift giving that alters the behavior of the recipient. Bribery constitutes a crime and is defined by Black's Law Dictionary as the offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting of any item of value to influence the actions of an official or other person in charge of a public or legal duty."

Everyone go vote, help flappycoin get on cryptorush exchange !
https://cryptorush.in/index.php?p=vote
Everyone donate BTC to get on cryptorush, we only need >0.1 BTC to get on the exchange.
Vote: https://cryptorush.in/index.php?p=vote

So someone in India (I assume because its *.in domain) made a website and is asking people to BRIBE him in BTC to get their coin listed for trading?Huh

Dont be like those who missed the MINT run yesterday and regretted it. Once the whales come in, there is no going back. This will be a monster run to 50 Satoshi in my opinion. Its a better coin than DOGE and certainly more popular than MINT for sure. The fact is whales are slowly accumulating and not ready to make it run yet.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FLAP] FlappyCoin ★ 0 PREMINED ★ COPYRIGHTED ★ MANY GIVEAWAYS ★ V1.0.0.2 on: February 24, 2014, 08:42:43 PM
FLAPPY has much more potential than MINT. and MINT went up like crazy yesterday with no reason or backing. FLAP has no premine and is backed by a 106 million youtube view internet meme. Once the word gets out the whales will wake up.

Mine until the whales take over.

Try the real Hash pool..
https://flap.hash.so/index.php?page=dashboard

Thats a good pool. But people should be encouraged to try out some other ones to, spread the flappers around.

No they shouldn't If hash.so is great and doesnt steal coins like most other pools do, then everyone should merge and use one pool.

I am sick and tired of all these new pools stealing coins and paying 30-40% less than I should get using my hashrate. And they bring nothing new to the table.

hash.so also allows switching between coins from my cellphone by going to say flap.hash.so and using a drop down to switch coins. I never have to remote desktop to my RIG again.

 2 x 750W seems low for your setup. I would do 3 on 850W another 3 + MB on 1050W.
