Finally, we are seeing some fast wickets in Bangladesh. This will help Bangladesh cricket in the long run. Those dead wickets cost Bangladesh dearly in the past.

It doesn't matter whether they are playing in dustbowls or green wickets. The team is performing poorly. They lost three wickets with a total of 32 on board. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Taijul Islam are at the crease with Shahadat Hossain, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz to come next. Now I am concerned that BCB will revert to preparing dust bowls for the remaining matches, which will be a bad thing to do and make the series very boring. Anyway, tomorrow will be interesting to watch.

The Bangladesh women's team sometimes pulls off victories that seem unbelievable but sometimes loses in ways that are hard to accept. Yesterday's opponent Australia women's team batted first and gave the target of 214 runs to Bangladesh women's team, which is an easy target for other teams, but it is a difficult target for Bangladesh. Moreover, Bangladesh targeted this run under nervous pressure and was bowled out for only 95 runsdone In other words, Bangladesh could not take the easy target too easily, but fell under pressure and got all out for 95 runs and lost by a big margin of 118 runs. In fact, the Bangladesh team lacked confidence in the team and especially with three batsmen being run out, that target became more difficult and eventually Bangladesh were bowled out for 95 runs.

Be it the men's team or the women's team. Growth of Bangladeshi team is hampered by the fact that they doesn't have a proper first class structure. They received the test status almost 25 years ago. And all these years, the BCB didn't found it important enough to set up a proper first class competition. What they have is a Dhaka based system where clubs play against each other. Whenever there is a suggestion to spread cricket beyond the capital city, Dhaka based clubs raise objection and sabotage the proposal.

So far, not a single Bangladeshi batsmen has got to double digits. Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque are back in pavillion without contributing much. A lot of hype was there regarding the Lankan spinners, but it was their seamers who got all the wickets so far. Vishwa Fernando and Kasun Rajitha were very effective. And before all this, Bangladesh had Sri Lanka at 57/5. Then they allowed Kamindu Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva to take the Lankans to 280 all out.

The stadium where Pakistan vs India match will be played in the T20 World Cup is still not completed at this stage but they are working and let's hope for the fastest work but that is also America and in America, they can do everything in real quick time because of the advancement if the technology.
It will be completed before the match and I will also give the images of the stadium's current condition and how it should be made but the current condition is not as it should be but hope it can be completed and would not move to any other place.

This Stadium is different from the other stadiums, it has 2 designs and I don't know which design they will be equipped to see in the images.

This is pathetic. The ICC is treating cricket fans like clowns. The world cup is just 3 months away, and they can't get the stadium ready for a match that is going to generate tens (if not hundreds) of millions of USD in revenue for the ICC. Is this the way to treat cricket fans from India and Pakistan? And why did the ICC gave hosting rights to USA? Just not to end there, they gave direct qualification to them as well. USA are the blue eyed boys of the ICC and they get priority everywhere. Teams with native players such as Nepal and Namibia doesn't get a fraction of that support from them.

I am wondering how much home advantage will Chennai Super Kings get in today's match. As such, their attack has an optimal balance of pace and seam. It's not like they are overdependent on any one department. Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur are default picks for CSK, while Maheesh Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja are likely to handle spin. Now the slot for 3rd seamer is a bit tricky. Will they go for Tushar Deshpande? BTW, for part-time spin they have the option of Rachin Ravindra and Moeen Ali.

The first match of IPL is going to start with a grand arrangement, Royal Challenger Bangalore vs Chennai Super King, the two teams will face each other at eight o'clock tonight. India's IPL game is popular in all countries with the world's best stars participating in the IPL game, no doubt today's match will be a very exciting match. I enjoy every game of IPL of course between these two teams Royal challenger Bangalore vs Chennai super king definitely Chennai super king they are last time champions definitely Chennai super king are doing great and hope the first match is going to be great.

Chennai Super Kings are in a state of flux after Mahendra Singh Dhoni unexpectedly stepped down as the captain of the team. Ruturaj Gaikwad is a talented cricketer, but we are not sure how he will perform as a captain. Royal Challenger Bangalore on the other hand is a group of very experienced players, with Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj expected to be named in the playing XI. CSK is not that bad either, as they have Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur.

Thanks a ton for organizing this. I don't remember the last time I participated in an IPL pool because I lost interest as the matches were getting very repetitive. Hopefully this time the situation will change and there will be a lot more excitement. However I am not sure whether I will be able to follow all the matches, as the office attendance is now mandatory (implemented after 4 years of working from home).

Kenya once again wasted a chance for redemption. Zimbabwe actually sent a second string side for African Games, captained by Clive Madande. Even then Kenya was unable to compete with them and lost the match by a very heavy margin. Owen Muzondo and Kudakwashe Macheka are relatively unknown players. Yet they destroyed the Kenyan batting lineup. And disappointing results for Uganda as well, as they lost to a second string Namibia side. The target was very low (112), but they got bowled out for 87 runs as Handre Klazinge took 4 wickets.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 21, 2024, 04:54:54 PM
I don't understand what the batting performance can do, especially when three wickets run out in a row can't be attributed to the batting performance at all. A team is bound to face disaster if it is run out recklessly.

Nigar Sultana RunOut
Fahima Khatun RunOut
Ritu Moni RunOut

Bangladesh Women's team has lost another wicket ie Bangladesh Women's team has lost 7 wickets for 87 runs. Now only time will tell if the Bangladesh women's team gets all out before 100 runs.

Bangladeshi women doesn't have much experience against quality sides such as Australia and England. Against these teams, you need to remember that they make very little fielding mistakes. All that said, today the Bangladeshi batting was pathetic. Not a single batter could manage a score above 30. Nigar Sultana's 27 was the top score for Bangladesh. They were 70/2 when Sobhana Mostary and Nigar Sultana were at the crease. They lost remaining 8 wickets for just 25 runs. Alana King was unplayable and returned figures of 10-3-12-1.

I guess it is all over for the Bangladeshi women. They were at 70/2 when Sobhana Mostary and Nigar Sultana were out there. But now they are struggling at 76/5. Last two wickets fell to careless runouts (Fahima Khatun and Ritu Moni). This is something that Bangladesh can't clearly afford. Anyway, this is the first ODI in this series between these two teams. Two more remain before the T20I series starts and hopefully Bangladesh women can comeback stronger. At this point, Ellyse Perry and Alana King are strangling them.

Yes you are right not having important players in Namibian team makes them weaker but we can't say that they are not good. Every team has problems with injuries or missing players sometimes and other players need to do well. Uganda has all their best players and did well in recent matches so they are tough team to play against. But we should not say Namibia is not strong. If the team works together and players do their best Namibia can still do well in today match. By the way still we can't say anything Namibia players will fullfil the space of missing players or not but still they have chances of winning.

Well.. Namibia is one of the strongest associate nations, not just from Africa but also from around the world. Uganda has a long distance to go before they reach there. This tournament will also test the player depth in Namibia. Cricket in Namibia is mostly played by the German and Dutch speaking population, while the native Africans are not much interested in the sport. However in the squad for this tournament, they have a number of native players such as Simon Petrus Shikongo, Ben Shikongo, Addo Iita and Junior Kariata. This will help cricket to expand within Namibia.

Bangladeshi women are fighting back. They were 21/2 when Murshida Khatun got out. But the partnership between Sobhana Mostary and Nigar Sultana took them to 70. Just now Mostary got out to Alana King and in her place Nahida Akter has come out to bat. Australia is having the advantage here. Megan Schutt have been exceptional so far (5-1-4-1), with Ashleigh Gardner, Georgia Wareham and Alana King providing excellent support. Two more wickets, and the match would be firmly with Australia.

The Sri Lankan all-rounder was previously out of action due to several bans before returning to the national team and again being suspended for two Test matches. The decision of the umpire must be accepted but he did not accept the decision but he got into an argument with the umpires and was seen arguing loudly which is why the ICC has clearly announced in their Facebook post that Hasaranga has been banned for the next two Test matches.
This Sri Lankan player could not bring anything good for his team or change the decision after arguing with the umpire but banned himself from the Test match. Hopefully his punishment will be a lesson to all other players.

Incidents of indiscipline are on the rise, and I would actually appreciate the stance taken by the ICC. The only thing is that they need to be fair. If they are taking action against Lankan players, then they should do the same against those who are from the pig-3. And in case of Hasaranga, he got what he deserved. Umpires are also humans. Sometimes the decisions can go one way, and sometimes it may go the other way. If you are OK with the first occasion, then you should be courageous enough to accept the decision during second occasion as well.

In 1st ODI Bangladesh women won toss and bowling first Australian women made 213/7 in 50 overs Aus-w team lost wickets early in powerplay only last wicket partnership of Annabel Sutherland 58 runs on 76 balls and Alana king 46 on just 31 balls help aus-w to help gave a target of 214 runs while on other side Nahida Akter and Sultana Khatun both takes 2, 2 wickets while Marufa Akter, Fahima Khatun and Shorna Akter takes single wickets ban-w need 214 runs to won 1st Odi ni 50 overs

Great recovery from Australia. They were 112/6 and then finished at 213/7. Alana King towards the end hit an amazing 46 from 31 balls. And Annabel Sutherland stabilized the innings with her 58 not out. Bangladeshi bowlers ran out of steam towards the end, and Fahima Khatun in particular proved to be very expensive. And in return, Bangladesh women are in a lot of trouble. They were 21/2, and now they have limped to 34/2 after 10 overs with Sobhana Mostary and the captain Nigar Sultana at the crease.

One off tournaments 1st semi final will be played Uganda vs Namibia. Uganda team much stronger then Namibia they won all their group stage matches they played 3 matches and with 6 points are top on the table in stage A while it will be very hard for Namibia team to won this match they played 3 matches and won only single group stage match with 2 points thery are on 2nd position in points table due to positive of runrate they will qualify for semi final otherwise head to head record Namibia won more matches then Uganda they have best records against team Namibia the team who won will play final on Saturday

Namibia is not strong, because many of their regular players are missing. JJ Smit, Ruben Trumpelmann and Bernard Scholtz are missing in the squad for this tournament. On the other hand, Uganda has fielded a full-strength side. And don't forget the fact that Uganda finished ahead of Zimbabwe in the T20 qualifiers. They are one of the African sides who are rapidly improving. The captain Brian Masaba is leading from the front, well supported by other players such as Riazat Ali Shah, Dinesh Nakrani, Frank Nsubuga, Roger Mukasa and Henry Ssenyondo.

Yes it is clearly seen that the batsmen of the Ireland team did not bat well even many saw it directly in the field. The batsmen of the Ireland team could not maintain their batting consistency in the third T20 match as they batted in the previous matches. Ireland's main hope, one of their best batsman Harry Tector also failed to score enough runs.

In the third match, the Afghanistan team bowled well, which helped them defeat the Ireland team. The runs scored by Afghanistan against Ireland could have been surpassed if the Irish batsmen had been batting carefully.

When was the last time that any of the Irish batsmen performed consistently? Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie have been out of form for some time now. Lorcan Tucker and Harry Tector have been showing a lot of promise, but their form is volatile. Curtis Campher is another promising player who has been inconsistent. Bowling is a little bit better, but then Josh Little is not always available for national duty. And that means that most of the burden needs to be borne by Mark Adair, Craig Young and Barry McCarthy.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 21, 2024, 07:01:46 AM
The ODI thread is going to be dormant for a while. Until the T20 World Cup is over (which is going to take another 4 months or so), none of the full member nations are scheduled to play an ODI. A few test matches are scheduled here and there, but ODI is a strict no-no. And this actually raises questions about the viability of this format. ODI is getting squeezed between test format and the T20 format. And in India, we have a saying "न घर के न घाट के". This is exactly the sate of ODI cricket right now. It is struggling to survive.
318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 21, 2024, 06:27:49 AM
Take a good look at how badly Ireland's batting has performed in the main phase. The performance was so bad that there was no way this team could have won against Afghanistan. The players of the Ireland team were not patient, due to which the match was forced to be lost by 57 runs. And the batsmen of the Afghanistan team performed very well and won because of their good bowling performance.  Certainly the optimistic Afghanistan team got its due result in this match.

Agreed. Poor performance from Irish batsmen. But then the bowlers were not much better either. Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy leaked too many runs. And the captain didn't allowed the economical Gareth Delany to bowl more than one over. Ireland was in dire straits at 46/5 (this was when George Dockrell got out). There was some fightback from Curtis Campher and Gareth Delany, but that was not enough to get them to the three digit mark. After winning the first match, Ireland went on to lose the series 1-2.

Australian women struggling at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Right now, they are 160/7, with Annabel Sutherland and Alana King at the crease. I would say even this represents a decent recovery. When Ashleigh Gardner got out, they were 112/6. Sultana Khatun and Nahida Akter picked up 2 wickets each, while Marufa Akter is being very economical. Australia need to get to at least 200 in order to have a fighting chance in this match. But their bowlers will have a tough job against the experienced Bangladeshi batting lineup that includes Nigar Sultana, Sobhana Mostary and Ritu Moni.

^^^ New Zealand seems to be on a downhill journey, irrespective of whether we are talking about the men's team or the women's. Veteran players such as Lea Tahuhu and Rosemary Mair are not performing as per the expectations, and then the younger bunch is not also able to support them. They allowed the England women to get to 160 in 20 overs, with Tahuhu and Hannah Rowe going for more than 9 runs per over. And in return, only Suzie Bates made a significant contribution with the bat.
