301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price Up or down today? What happened? on: June 08, 2017, 12:48:46 PM
You want to know what happened with bitcoin price? Cuban happened!

Mark Cuban tweeted that Bitcoin is not an asset but rather a religion.
When Mark Cuban tweets, people listen and this tweet spooked some weak hands, so we experienced a fast dip.

302  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will the next correction/dip be? on: June 08, 2017, 12:45:33 PM
Bull race is still on. Currently we have minor pull back, in times like this usually we see more bulls join the race to resume price climb.
We would have new ATH by now if not by that awful tweet from Mark Cuban, when he said that cryptocurrency is 'More religion than asset’
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Jump in Litecoin value on: June 07, 2017, 12:46:35 PM
Don't bother to find out what is behind small price spikes of LTC. It is probably rich whale who suddenly decided to include LTC into his investing portfolio.
Meanwhile masses are trying to deduce what is happening. I think that max price LTC will achieve this year is sub $40.
There is another possibility that Bitcoin after scaling solution will be implemented will soar and every other altcoin will crash.

304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any cheap altcoin with grow pontecial on: June 07, 2017, 12:39:41 PM
Ethereum is still relatively cheap, some says that it will be soon even more expensive than bitcoin.

It is wise to observe coins offering cloud computing services:
like Golem and SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining (they are currency in the ICO phase).
These coins might rise very fast to the top.

306  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's the big difference of communism to terrorism? on: June 06, 2017, 12:17:08 PM
I need you thoughts with regards to this issue. I am actually thinking that a communism is an act of rebellion and a rebellion is for me to be classified as terrorism. I really am having a hard time understanding this
Communism is not act of rebellion. It is simply another political system. Pure communism is really amazing concept, but we can't have it.
Every time people tried to introduce and live by communist rules - they failed. Humans are simply not cut for communism - they are not equal by design.
Rebellion from the other hand is not the same as terrorism. What will you call nations which terrorize their citizens i.e. a communist North Korea?
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: crypto's passed $100 billions mark... on: June 06, 2017, 12:12:07 PM
Bitcoin is no a company it won't be defended by official representative, we won't have Bitcoin's tv commercials, we won't have banners or billboards.
Bitcoin can be compared to the internet - there is no one who owns internet really - it is part of the global network.
Same with Bitcoin. So don't wait for something to happen - advertise Bitcoin yourself, create this "network effect"!
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go on: June 06, 2017, 11:27:05 AM
Price is starting to climb, weak hands have been shaken out, whales made their money, people diving back in, strap in and get ready for liftoff
Weak hands are never really out of the game. Some investors will always sell at ATH, that is the nature of the market.
Price of bitcoin is higher than ever, we need to be ready for higher spikes as well. $100 daily is not that much, considering that bitcoin is closing fast to $3000.
It is not the sign of a bubble, it is standard market evolution.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: AMAZING BITCOIN on: June 06, 2017, 11:15:34 AM
After a small correction the price is back again stronger and i really hope this rally could break $3000 and keeps on moving higher,i wish i was able to hold more bitcoins at this point as i sold some of my coins when the price hit the current figures last time and i was waiting for a good correction that never happened.
We will reach $3000, one way or another. I am not sure if this will be this week though. Some technical indicators suggest that bitcoin is overbought right now (RSI, stochastic).
I would rather expect a minor selloff to happen soon than crazy race towards $3000. But don't worry bitcoin is still strong and every correction will make it even stronger.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is causing the Bitcoin bubble? on: June 06, 2017, 10:36:44 AM
Now it is evident that Bitcoin price is at an all-time high. Prices have risen steeply, far too fast for my liking. I don't think such a growth is sustainable. The bubble is going to break very soon.

But what is causing such a price hype? I speculate this phenomenon is caused by the increase in the number of Bitcoin users. Hence, demand increases and supply dwindles. Thus price increases. Are there any other factors that could add to this price hype?
This is standard argument against bitcoin - the price of BTC has risen too fast, therefore it is no sustainable, and it must fall.
But as you said yourself - prices are high because number of bitcoin users is growing - this would indicate organic growth and not a bubble!
Bubble would mean totally artificial price spike - caused by actions of market speculators, whales and bots.
Scaling resolution is upon us, also Japan legal adoption happened, Australia will adopt BTC in July, Russians changed their anti-crypto stance etc.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin for Retirement on: June 06, 2017, 10:25:26 AM
Do you think 1 Bitcoin can be good for retirement...let's say 20 years from now?
1. Do you have any backup retirement plan? Bitcoin alone might not be enough to keep you safe. We have no idea how BTC will scale in the distant future.
2. You probably heard this already, but diversification is the key. Bitcoin is great but seeing how Ethereum is growing I would buy it as well. Same with some other good altcoins.
3. No one will tell you how much 1 BTC will be worth in the future. It is pure guessing. Invest into something less volatile: land, real estate market etc.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: June 04, 2017, 08:53:05 PM
Is there any ETA when will vDice will finally change minimum bet requirements? With ETH price of $250 it is not possible to place a bet.
Minimum bet of 0.2210 ETH - is more than $50 - I would like the limit lowered it to 0.02 ETH which is $5 ATM.
313  Economy / Economics / Re: Future of the BTC on: June 04, 2017, 08:04:13 PM
So if you are in cryptocurrency world, you need to know volatility is the essance of cryptocurrency. If we are seeing so much people getting attract towards btc and other alts are only because unexpected rise is coins every day.
And as far as btc is concerned, I don't feel there is any coin worth till now which could beat it. Stability is not any cause of distress for bitcoin ecosystem.
There were coins which were stable for extended period of time.

Take a look at Litecoin for example, it kept the same value during 2016 always around $3-$4, there were not spikes, no pumps and dumps at all.

Volatility is only so strong, because we are in the early stage of using cryptocurrency, a lot speculation is happening, when whole system will mature volatility will be lowered.
314  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will it happen? on: June 04, 2017, 07:36:58 PM
Just focus on the development, solve the scaling issue/debate/whatever, which leads to the high transaction fees being solved, and your dream will come true. Bitcoin price represents no issue at all – it has 8 decimal digits; you can break it into as many Satoshis as you want, no problem.
Even with scaling issue solved, the upgraded bitcoin won't be good to use it as everyday payment method.
When you think only of using on-chain transactions to buy coffee at the gas station - this probably won't be possible.
It is foolish to think that bitcoin could be scaled on chain to reach for example 100tx/s -  it's ridiculous thought.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO - in which one to invest? on: June 04, 2017, 07:04:51 PM
I think that investing ICO is the shortest way to double your money in a short time. And therefore, you need to choose wisely before investing your money into a project because it may turn into a real scammer and takes all the money and runaway. IN my opinion, I think buying tokens are the best choice at the moment

I thought tokens were the same as ICO. Can some one explain to me what the difference is?
ICO is Initial Coin Offering - it is kind of crowdfunding done with cryptocurrency, so you are buying tokens to support project which is totally new.
The problem with ICOs is that people behind ICO can fool you pretty easily, lie about the project and show false information.
They also might just turn out to be unfitted to manage the money, project and fail to deliver in the long run.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MAJOR WARNING - ALL COINS on: June 04, 2017, 06:51:40 PM
Hello dear fellows,

I'm an economist and I just want to give you a head up to sell all your coins before they get worthless.
Including Bitcoins.

Today there are over 750 cryptocoins in existence.
Because literally anyone, any team of people can design and create their own coins. Very easily with all the open source codes available.

So, if anyone can create any amount of their own coins.
Guess what the value of that coin will be on the market?
0.
It's value is zero.
It's literally worth less than water or the air you're breathing.

Once people start to realize this, that the coins have no realistic valuation, each and every single one of every coin will be worth NADA. 0. ZERO. NOTHING.
Enjoy the ride while it last, and get out fast.

Regards
No one pays attention to shitcoins with marketcap less than $100 million anyway.
I know that using marketcap as a serious indicator is not the best idea, but there is nothing better to quickly distinguish between bad coins and totally worthless shitcoins.
Can you please enlighten us why do you think Bitcoin value will reach zero?
317  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are we brainwashed? on: June 03, 2017, 03:54:53 PM
We all need to realize brilliance of this quote: "We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like."

Our social behaviour implies communal relationships - humans are nothing more than smart herring animals.

We are not brainwashed - we are connected and because we follow others. The problem is, we usually don't need guidance.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a bubble that's gonna burst... on: June 03, 2017, 03:42:22 PM
"The wild card in cryptocurrencies is the role of Big Institutional Money. When hedge funds, insurance companies, corporations, investment banks, sovereign wealth funds etc. start adding bitcoin et al. as core institutional holdings, the price may well surprise all but the most giddy prognosticators."

This is interesting insight - it is 100% logical and correct assumption - but will we really have something like institutional money flow into BTC in the future?
Bitcoin ETFs were so far be nipped in the bud by SEC - what should change so SEC your accept Bitcoin as valid asset?
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Golden Age of cheap coins is over on: June 03, 2017, 03:32:27 PM
How I cope with new reality? I ignore every new alt coin. Instead I am waiting for it to mature a bit before it could be even touched.
I know that there are some pretty darn good options to invest my money but I would rather hold BTC than try to experiment with scam coins.
After a year of development we can tell more about the project, if coin is still strong after this time, it means it has potential.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: June 03, 2017, 03:14:25 PM
Just like what Edgeless will soon offer, they have included sports betting in their white paper.
I'm sure if you add that game it will be more fun, sport betting industry is a very big market, we should be looking at this kind of improvement.
THIS! I don't know whether Edgeless will be meet its obligations about sport betting, but this would be awesome.
I read gambling section of Bitcointalk everyday - DirectBet is now closed, and people are desperately seeking alternatives where they could bet without account.
vDice might get the jackpot here if they would release a their own sportsbook.
