Getting 166 sol/s out of a rx470 8gb nitro
Please let me know how? i have same graphic cards and i get just 140. Turn up the GPU clock speed. |

Right now Ethereum is more profitable about 10-20%
Not even close for RX480 cards. ZEC is miles ahead in profitability. |

The R9 Nanos uses HBM - high bandwidth memory - and have the best improvement vs all my other types of cards.
v6 has tremendously taken advantage of this features in R9 series that the card posting nearly 200 H/s even better past 180s H/s of 390s.
RX480s however at best posting 130-140s H/s -- could you do your magic on the RX cards?
These are 5 x RX480's .. They way past the 140 mark.. whats the watts? If I under clock I can do .8 watts an H/s which means 825 would be about 660 watts So I know you are not under clocking and under volting.. so do you use 750 watts whole system at the wall to get the 825 or do you use 850 watts at the wall to get the 825 H? I can set my fans at 50% and run cool and quiet. do you set your fans at 85% and run hot and loud? mind you I am not being critical more like curious. 850 watts @ the wall for all 5 cards and fans are at 65% which seems to be a decent balance. |

I have removed my ether strapped bios from my cards since Claymore 5 release as I will tune my cards when I no more what best settings will be,with each new release cards are under more stress and I believe using ether mods will not be best for zcash mining,I am getting 159 to 164H/s with my 480 8G nitros and same with my xfx 480 8G GTR but the xfx run cooler in same conditions,xfx are just great with cooling,all have Samsung memory and -60 core with 1340 clocks memory 2100 I believe power usage will be around same as what ether is when cards are maxed out and miner is optimised
RX480 strapped & with 1350 -> 1400 clocks working pretty solid for me. |

1st page: There are builds for Windows x64 only. No Linux. No 32-bit support. No NVidia support. |

I didn't realize that the software allows remote upload of the configuration file in the default configuration... Ouch.
I have set the port to read only and changed it to a different number.
It may be a good idea to advise users in the next version of the readme file that such an exploit exists...

Ok, I'll add a warning in next update, in both readme and miner itself. The majority of people will never use it and since it doesn't have any type of authentication, isn't it better to have it turned off by default? |

I get that and agree, in the long term is all equals out. But if we assume that is true, then why are we here mining Equihash and not sticking with Ethash as most people have done over the last 6-9 months?
Short term demand comes before long term averaging. |

Why is devfee finding so much more shares so much faster?
Because of a different pool? I'm mining on suprnova
When you switch pools, difficulty starts off low and then ramps up. Switch to mining at flypool and you'll probably get considerably better returns. why is flypool so much better They have ~50% of the total ZEC network hashing power. If you want consistent payouts, flypool is the place to be. |

So each RX480 is doing ~163.6 rock stable.
Wow.. that's cool man! are they the 8gb version or 4gb version? If you don't mind can you share your gpu setting (cclock/memclock, strap bios etc) a little bit? Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ OC 8GB I can upload the BIOS somewhere if you want to play with it. (I don't recommend people use it for all their cards) That's great idea man.. I never flash my card directly with any downloaded bios.rom... I usually just open the downloaded bios.rom file & open my copy bios.rom, compare the value then if everything look right i try to copy the value from downloaded bios to the copy of my bios.rom and flash my card with that copy of my own bios that has been modified .. I understand the rule in any forums.. the risk of taking advice from any forum is completely my own risk.. :-) What have you changed ? Use the BIOS editor and look and compare. I don't recommend using the bios unless your cards can handle it. |

If you're going to be using Claymore's miner, I recommend you use http://zcash.flypool.org/. I find switching to & from the dev fee is considerably faster if you're already mining to flypool. Faster switching == Faster rewards/profits over the long term. |

- improved speed by about 20-25% (depends on card model). About 180H/s on stock 390.
- "-i" parameter values are 0...4 now, default value is "-i 4".
- fixed issue with mixed cards.
RX 480 doing 140 - 150 sol/s. Nice work. |
