301  Economy / Speculation / Re: $300 in the end of August on: September 09, 2015, 02:56:40 PM
I believe the end of September bitcoin will reach $300 and you have to change the title " $300 in the end of September "

Then if it won't happen you can try it in October, November and December. Finally you'll see Bitcoin couldn't reach 300$ again in 2015. Wait for 2016.

If it doesn't happen by November then it won't this year. I feel like people sell a lot in December for xmas stuff.

I think other way round because in December people may use Bitcoin to buy many online items so it will create a demand for coins

Good point. Only time will tell Smiley.

Bitcoins market is very vast you can keep accumulating in small quantities when ever you see selling pressure,  that is the right time when the market is in correction mode. As per my trading view is that you should accumulate when ever the market crashes and sell when you feel that it is gone to peak high and correction is needed.

how long will people continue to accumulate? the price is well below $300 for quite some time now, which means they have had plenty of time to buy the desired amount of coins already.

It's not just accumulating. Many guys also just trade. Buying and selling. Buying on the way down and expected bottom and selling on the way up and at expected peak.
And as long as new big wave of new buyers coming in this game of buying and selling will continue without much prize movement. So be patient and hope the best for the future or leave if you can not handle it I would say.

I think many people are disheartened because they compare these prices to the $1200 bubble which was completely fake, manipulated, and unreal. It makes today's prices seem like bitcoin is going to die in their minds, but in reality, these are much more normal prices in my mind. Surely, it wasn't all Willy and Markus, but they worked synergistically with people panic buying and the Chinese buying like crazy.

It was a failed prediction but it's not that bad, just look at the positive side and think that the lower the Bitcoin price is for the longer period of time the more you can make. It's all about making BTC when it's cheap, because it's inevitable that it will eventually go 10k+, I dont care if it takes 1 or 3 halvings, it will, it's a fact just like 2+2=4, if you fail to see this then you are doing it wrong.

Agreed. Whenever I'm disappointed about where the price currently is I just tell myself, well, I can accumulate that many more bitcoins. I never dreamt I'd have the amount I have thanks to this huge bear market.

So what happens if Core remains? The current blocks will get fuller and fuller as the user base continues to grow.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Percentage of XT nodes... on: September 02, 2015, 04:25:16 PM
Loads of fake nodes and multiple nodes coming from the same source. I assume they were intended to light a fire that never caught on. We'll see what happens with the upcoming scalability conference but it looks like they've run out of steam for now.

I did not realize this! Thanks! Makes sense now.

US government already imposed tax regulations for bitcoin back in early 2014...

Thanks for the info ... I am talking about why and how the government will stop Bitcoin.

I know...I'm not sure what country you are talking about (if any in particular), but my point is that at least, so far, the US government just wants to regulate it and get their cut.

Do they still have him separated from the general population? Does he at least get to pump iron there? He was pretty skinny from what I remember.
311  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're on the knifes edge on: September 02, 2015, 11:56:55 AM
I wonder if we break $200, it could be another long fall from there.  Or, if some strong buying happens, we could be in for a run up.  I feel like we're right on the edge and could go wither way.

No ... we are not on the edge of knife ............ there is not any hard buying anymore ....... we are in a Downhill ..........

I've seen your posts, they are beyond bearish.  I think we are back to a flatline, not downhill

There is buying going though, just a week ago we were down to the $210 range, now were back at $230.  There is buy support, just not enough to support going back to $250

I find it more probable that this is just a dead cat bounce , than it is solid buy support. I still think we're sooner to see ~170-180 price range than to bounce back to >250.
I could be wrong tho, but this seams to me like build up of fake support to fool the buyers, before releasing an another dump. Many will disagree , but i strongly believe the
market is still manipulated.

I don't doubt it at all that the market it still heavily manipulated...very easy for whales to do with all of the bitcoin xt fud and bitfinex issues. However, I do believe as the user base keeps growing and we approach the halving, etc etc etc, 4 more years of all this, another halving...we're gonna see the price pushed upwards significantly. Sure, I think we'll still see manipulation during all of this, but the price fluctuations will be at higher levels, so I wouldn't really worry about it.
312  Economy / Speculation / Re: This drama is ridiculous... on: September 02, 2015, 11:47:21 AM
I don't think you will see many seasoned vets complaining. Most of them are making money shorting BTC. They also know these swings happen. Its the new guys/gals who are not use to the market that complain.

Price swings are profit making opportunities for traders that know what to do. Great fun for traders but not so much for people who just bought coins.

Trade is gambling ........... all small trader will loss in long term ... like dice game that house edge never allow you be a winner a long term .......

Because of this %10 of traders are winner in the end .... These traders have so Money ,,,,, like million of dollars not like you or me with thousands of dollar........

this reminds me of 90% of fiat day traders are in the same boat.

Just cause its in a different form lol. Most people think they can make a good ton of money by "predicating" price.

whales make huge profits with their manipulation, they know much better what will happen because they are the market movers. small traders can only make a guess about the right time to buy in and when to sell.
That is so true especially in the stock market. Most people buying in have no idea about the economy they are investing in and whine about how they are losing money with bitcoin. People need to know what they are doing before they try making a living trading Bitcoin.

so whats the best thing to do as a small timer?

just buy in when we see another $50 decrease? I think i`ll just focus on making more fiat if theres not much choice since its based on whales.

I would buy a small amount every week or X amount of time. That's what I do. And sure, if the price flash crashes, then I'll buy a handful.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Percentage of XT nodes... on: September 02, 2015, 11:44:44 AM
It has to be at least 50% so they could technically lower the threshold to 51%.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Percentage of XT nodes... on: September 01, 2015, 06:18:37 PM
...has fallen over the past few/several days. Seemed it was slowly creeping up to 15% but has fallen back to around 13%. This made me think...

How do you think this will affect the price if:

XT doesn't catch on and it becomes evident we will never hit 75% as we approach January?

XT catches on and appears to have a good shot as we approach January?

315  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're on the knifes edge on: September 01, 2015, 12:28:48 PM
Are we still on the knife's edge? If not, please let this thread die...

We never were bro.
316  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're on the knifes edge on: August 31, 2015, 05:38:56 PM
When we crash below 200 and stay there, that will be downhill. Not a 20 dollar fluctuation. Smh.
317  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're on the knifes edge on: August 28, 2015, 11:50:49 PM
Not likely to go much lower. Very strong resistance at $200. You could hope for $150 at the VERY best.

yeah, for a while I was thinking double digits was possible, but I was unaware about the miner "break even" point being arund $180.  Makes me think we can bounce back down there, but then quickly bounce back up to this range of $220-$230

Exactly, and even if we touch $150, it'll boomerang back up right away. Nothing to worry about. The only thing that could destroy BTC is if a technical flaw was discovered that couldn't be fixed.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: This drama is ridiculous... on: August 28, 2015, 11:39:12 PM
Why are so many being a pu$$y?

So the price is lower and has been. Who cares? Average down. Keep at it. Hold long-term. Eventually you'll break even and profit.

If Bitcoin fails, it will be years away. Too many dark websites still use it. Too many lost coins. Too many big holders.

Some people need to consider using logic instead of emotion. Smh.

Why don't you use the strategy and be glad no one is stealing your secret?

Trust me I am!  Grin

Most people here are either trolls or idiots. Either way they don't have much intelligence or better things to do so they're not going to listen top reason or logic.

This. Half the people here own very little, if any, bitcoin.
