301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin fall on: November 05, 2017, 12:39:35 PM
Depends on how things goes with the fork. If people start dumping Bitcoin2X (which is expected) price will go up even more. However if some miracle happens and everyone start dumping BTC for 2X ... Well lets just say a lot of people will lose a lot of money.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: B2X Futures on: November 05, 2017, 12:38:10 PM
No sane person is dumping Bitcoin for 2x on the 15th.

Quite right. I expect the opposite. On 15th when everyone dump 2X and start buying BTC, price will go up even more than now. We might as well hit 10k about that time.
303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once Bitcoin becomes mainstream... on: November 05, 2017, 12:36:33 PM
Well you shouldn't count on me to sell my bitcoins Cheesy  If bitcoin doesn't reach as high as $15,000 in the next 2 years I might sell my coins, Because I expect the price to double every year. Not every bitcoin holder would sell their bitcoins and cash out completely you know?
The same thing I believe is causing the price to move up, They are withholding their coins from the market.

Double ? Have you looked over charts for this year ? Bitcoin gone up over 10 times since last year at this time. Double is still good, but it will be more than that I can guarantee
304  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] NanoFury NF1 v0.6 on: November 04, 2017, 09:42:49 PM
I don't want to ruin your sales thread but you do know that thing is worthless as it's no longer 2013-2014 ? Hash rate is now measured in TH not in GH. Maybe someone will want it as collector item  Cheesy  Cheesy
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How simple is to integrate remote mining software in a webpage to replace ads? on: November 04, 2017, 07:32:02 PM
Back when bitcoin was young you could mine in a web browser.  There were also snippets of code you could insert into your website (header I think) that would mine for you when people had those websites open.  It didn't take off because the difficulty started to rise, but at least for a short while it was hot.

I don't think it would work today under your proposed model unless you could prevent others from hijacking your code and redirecting the hashrate somewhere else.  Unless of course these were websites under your control.
I remember this as well, and there was also a phase where it was popular with Litecoin with Litecoinpool integrating a now deprecated Java-based LTC miner into a webpage (it's still there, just search- one of my first posts was about this!). It's still possible to do this today with an Altcoin of some sort, whether it's in plain sight or not. I'd imagine it'd take a few lines of code changed and optimizations to hashing algorithms, etc but it's definitely possible. As long as it's for good intent.

Good intent indeed.  There are so many altcoins that if you were to pick the right algo and point it at a multipool it might get somewhere.  I always thought it would be a good idea to have a game platform with integrated mining support built in that would use a small percentage of your graphics in exchange for free games.

That's a great idea! Game platform with integrated mining system.. I'll keep researching this just for fun, anyway. Thank you all.

PirateBay did that but without the knowledge of the users. Simple goolge search will get you to the software they used. It's basically a JavaScript code that you put on your web page and point toward the API key you get from them. They take percentage and you get your coins. Of course you can compile C based miner yourself and avoid the fee if you want to hassle...
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All of my friends have finally dumped all of their alts on: November 04, 2017, 07:27:20 PM
I think did this the worse time , actually now is time that people should invest to promising ICOs and other Alt coins.

Really ? ICOs are scam and may turn only short time profit if you get the coins first and be first to dump them as soon as they go on exchange. As for other AltCoins, please let me know what coin can even be compared to Bitcoin ? Jump of over 800% on yearly basis. I understand that it can happen with altcoins too, but their starting price is 0.0001$ and no one is really using the technology behind the coin, just users investing because they are looking for profits.
307  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-03]Bitcoin scams 'getting more sophisticated' as value of cryptocurrenc on: November 04, 2017, 07:23:19 PM
Its nothing new or sophisticated. Simple phishing scam is there for everything (accounts most) that hold any value. If you fall for this type of scam then you are really not being any careful.
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10.000 = 1BTC on New Year? on: November 04, 2017, 07:20:31 PM
It's possible if things with the fork (Segwit2X) goes well. We can't know that for sure now. A huge fuckup may happen and we have some big exchange listing Bitcoin Core chain as BTC and others Segwit2X chain as BTC. That would cause serious confusion between users and price would go down insanely
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once Bitcoin becomes mainstream... on: November 04, 2017, 07:18:47 PM
It's currently estimated about 3 million people own some amount of Bitcoin.

That's about 0.3% of the population of Europe and North America.

If Bitcoin becomes mainstream, and say 50% of people in Europe and NA own Bitcoin, how much would it be worth?

Amount of people that own it does not matter. Demand matters. If lets say 50% of the people want to own Bitcoin but don't have it that would drive the price insane.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "The Real Bitcoin" on: November 04, 2017, 01:38:17 PM
Of the top 20 exchanges, none of them will explicitly support the new chain.

Thats all cool but where is the big guy Poloniex ? Most of the people here are using Poloniex as exchange. It would be great if they list Segwit2X chain as something other than BTC
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Typical banks, will they ever take Bitcoin seriously? on: November 03, 2017, 05:45:33 PM
if banks will start to accept bitcoin, for me, it wont be a good news because that means BTC will be regulated, with the power of banks the whole concept of BTC/decentralisation and stuff like that will be wiped or twisted into something they want.
At that point, BTC will become another currency being regulated by government, laws and politics.. i dont think community would take it as a good news.

How did you come to that conclusion ? If they start to accept it you may use their service or you can just continue to do what you are doing now. I don't see in which part is Bitcoin getting regulated if you don't use Bank's service.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I invest into? on: November 03, 2017, 05:43:50 PM
I’m interested in investing $2500 should I just put it straight into btc or mining hardware?

GPU mining is currently not very profitable. You can maybe try buying ASIC BTC miner (if you can, they are hard to find) but the best bet now is to invest into Bitcoin directly. If you are looking for short term profit now may not be the best time, but if you are planning to hold for lets say a year then current price does not matter.
313  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-01] Bitpay to Suspend All Services During the Segwit2x Hard Fork on: November 01, 2017, 10:03:50 AM
"If that occurs, Bitpay’s services will follow the chain with the most accumulated difficulty."
And that basically means they will support Segwit2x after the fork, because like it or not, Segwit2x chain will have the support of majority of miners.
314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Myths on: November 01, 2017, 08:39:10 AM
Holy shit that article is a straw man slaughterhouse. At least when applied to Bitcoin.
...
[...]

If bitcoin could be made to work as fast as Visa, then I think it would not be the same "bitcoin" that
has been marketed to us... ".. the best thing brought to us ...since the Ten Commandments...".
The "proof_of_ work" technology which everyone is now is hyping about now will ensure that bitcoin will
never be daily money for payments.

PoW is not what's restricting transaction throughput. Blocktime, blocksize, etc is. Neither which will prevent us from running a more scalable transaction solution on top of Bitcoin, while using PoW to secure settlements.

Just give me a simple tweak to the bitcoin protocol that will enable transactions to 100,000 per sec. and retailer can have their payments confirmed immediately.

Without immediate confirmation, bitcoin can never be medium of exchange.
Increasing block size to some ridiculous amount is not a solution here. If there was safe, long term solution developers would push the code already
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining Profitability on: October 31, 2017, 11:37:52 AM
The site, fork.lol allows us to see the Bitcoin Mining Profitability based on fees, exchange price and mining difficulty and compare it with Bitcoin Cash mining profitability.

I wanted to know how exactly is this value calculated? What are the implications of it on the price of the coin?

So, if BCH is more profitable to mine then the overall Network Hash Rate in BCH will increase as more miners would switch from BTC to BCH mining. And with the increase in Network Hash rate, this would result in increasing the mining difficulty.

I want to understand how we can relate the Mining Profitability of BTC and BCH to the price of the coin.

Thanks.
Its sort of balancing itself out. Profitability is calculated based on difficulty and coin price. For example when certan groups want to attact BTC in the last few weeks they would just pump the price of BCH and miners would switch. Difficulty would increase after some time and they switch back to BTC with lowered difficulty.
316  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ANTMINER D3 , L3+ , S9 & ANTROUTER (UPDATED) on: October 31, 2017, 11:27:43 AM
I'm interested in purchasing the L3. Does it come with power supply ? Who is paying for shipping and what is the price ? Let me know.
317  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 3x D3 miners. On HAND ️ with PSU, on: October 31, 2017, 11:16:44 AM
Do they come with the power supply included ? Would you consider shipping them ? In cade you do, Where are you shopping it from and who would pay the shipping costs ?
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: How can be attributed the recent price surge of bitcoin? on: October 31, 2017, 10:56:49 AM
The price of Bitcoin grow up from $5,800 to $6,345 during one day, $4,800 to $6,345 during one week.
Which range of factors affects the price?
Lots of people buying for various reasons. For example last week growth was due to Bitcoin Gold fork. Anyone who owns Bitcoin would get same amount of Bitcoin Gold. That fact encouraged more people to buy BTC
319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Got hacked and robbed. My mistake for keeping coins on exchange on: October 31, 2017, 10:55:13 AM
My coinbase got hacked today. I got a message on my phone saying that my password had changed. I attempted to follow instructions to stop it, but by the time I had, it was too late and the theif emptied out my hot wallet. The only saving grace was that coinbase has vaults which give 48 hour delay. I wish that I would have transferred more coins to the vault as they were protected. Coinbase has some serious vulnerabilities, but whoever the thief was was able to login from my IP and was able to login to my email despite the fact that I had just changed my password. Be careful out there. Cold wallet your coins.

It's never a good idea to store coins on exchange. However I doubt Coinbase has serious vulnerabilities. What happened is that you most likely got infected with a RAT. Its not a problem for the hacker to log in with your IP and your email really. Ways to prevent this is usage of 2FA
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to spend bitcoins in real world anonymously ? on: October 30, 2017, 01:50:59 PM
many are using it illegaly, I heard in the news that it is used in buying illegal drugs. They didn't use cash but bitcoin in their transactions.
Typical stuff they would say on news to get your attention and pit Bitcoin in the bad light.

As for topic, you can use BTC ATM for example and get cash to buy things. Its not really whitin the boundaries of law but if you don't buy a new expensive car I really doubt anyone would notice really.
