$74800

Reason: I am just being optimistic here and like the look of this speficic number.

I am coming to the conclusion that in the future it may be best to be able to defend your home/property yourself. I could either buy vast acreage and build a fortress, or buy an island that is easier to protect as the only people coming will be coming by boat...which can be defended against.

you know there are these things called "aircraft" that make a lot of traditional defenses useless.

You know there are these things called anti aircraft guns that shoot down aircrafts, says a former AA gunner.

drones are small, cheap and hard to see. program piles of them and set em loose.

point being there are always guys with bigger/better guns. always.

in my youth i read some dystopian Robert Heinlein stuff that seemed just crazy with their political premises and such. now im practicality living it.

edit: thanks for your service to your country btw

This isn't meant to be deliberately offensive, and apologies to any veterans if it comes across that way, but I can never really understand the "thanks for your service" rhetoric, most commonly encountered in the US. Firstly, members of the armed forces there are receiving a salary, so is it really "service"? Secondly, the US's recent military endeavours have largely been in the service of, and to the benefit of, oil corporations and their shareholders, rather than to their country. I thought we'd gone beyond the naïvety of thinking that governments wage wars for the benefit of their people.

I thought the same way when I was younger and I have meanwhile changed my view slightly.

Please note that nobody ever thanks the politician dickheads for the bribes they took or the wars they started, but the men and women risking their life (admittedly in a possibly false belief to protect their country and fellow citizens) deserve our thanks for the risks they take I think. Being ready to give your life for a greater good is being reason enough for me to respect these people, what they do and their reasons for doing it, even more since they are often treated as you rightly notice just as cannon fodder for some twisted goals (often protecting the petro$, therefor remotely on-topic).

I can think that the US of A is a war waging country invading shithole country one after another with mostly complete made up reasoning or outright commercial interest and at the same time I can have great respect for those who have their boots then on the ground, taking all possible risks in the spirit/belief of protecting their fellow citizens and community. Unfortunately those responsible for any useless war rarely get harmed, it's those men and women who get paid a ridiculous salary for the risks they take and fight in wars that they personally would never have started in the first place.

I really think one can disapprove a certain war and still have respect for the people that ultimately have to fight in it on the ground.

* psycodad goes back to dry shopping on privateislandsonline.com, thinking he might hire a DOGE investor as groundskeeper (they might need a second job soon).

I've been half considering this island:
https://www.privateislandsonline.com/central-america/panama/isla-gallina-panama

I may pull the trigger if I can buy it with 10 BTC.

Very idyllic indeed even so I am peeking into another corner of the world on that website. Currently I can't keep myself from starring at this one, though corn would need to appreciate quite a bit from here to make it feasible:

I like doge pin just fine and all, one of my favorite alts for sure, but how in the actual fuck is it this high and sustaining?

Wtf is going on? LOL

Everyone expecting Elon to pamp it on SNL tonight? I'm Expecting a big sell off next week though.

But that's neither here or there, gogo BTC slow and steady towards new ATH.

This whole DOGE insanity brings me into some moral dilemma, I ask myself if it is justifiable on moral grounds to sell DOGE at 1200 sats or higher to obviously mentally retarded biders. Even if the person buying from me with their precious corn explicitly stated that he wants to do so, it seems to me on par with selling sleeping pills to a person that just announced they want to OD themselves.

On the other hand, I really like every single coin I have mined in the past 7 yrs and it's normally a hard decision to let go of them, but at 1200 sats (and higher) the separation pain became somewhat bearable.

Yeah, the new crop of mETH heads are gonna shit their pants when ETH returns to below $1000 at some point.

Which it absolutely will.

That's what I said to my friend when the meme coin went over 400 sat, predicted bitter tears once it goes back to 30 sat.
I guess I lost a friend today.  Grin

Password managers are only for the dumb and demented geezers who can't properly memorize a few hundred of unique, secure passwords (say >10 chars, including upper/lower, numeric and special chars and no known words). That's the same sort of pussy dimwits that needs to write down their seed phrase. *shaking head in disbelief*
Real men have a photographic memory and don't need crap like password managers, paper wallets or backups. Or do you really think Chuck Norris would use a password manager or backup data?

No crazy prices either can buy them from china in bulk at $55-70 per machine.

Then why don't you buy them in your fantasy land. No one is going to sell it for a week's worth of mining profit. They're going for $1000+ on eBay.

Ebay prices are always thru the roof though..

https://prnt.sc/11vnigi

Bulk china $55 like I said EU and US prices are crazy..

Lot of people have them in boxes not even using them now..

And no need for the cheeky comment either suchmoon...

If you think you will get a working L3+ right now for $55 you deserve cheeky comments (and are probably only waiting to get scammed).

You realize that screenshot is Alibaba, right? Good luck with ever getting something delivered (I would count an empty box as success already), more likely your seller will disappear once the money is there.

On AliExpress the L3+ also go for >$900 + shipping - the difference is that AliExpress has moneyback guarantee - draw your own conclusions.

edit: and i can feel those  Pfizer 5G nanobots feeding me lifeforce as i type, especially now that ive had the 2nd injection. 5 bars of 5G signal on my phone now and no 5G towers in 100 miles of here. sweet bonus, that! i have become.. become.. well.. something.

I don't believe you that, you know.
Because the Pfizer shot does contain no hydrogel which in turn is obviously needed for organically based wireless transmissions and nanobot implants.
Therefor: definitely no internet connection with the Pfizer shot and you will also not get better 5G signal either (math, science, etc.). Hell I even am not sure if you've really got any nanobots, people can say anything on the internets and I am 50/50 you are just bragging around with your nanobot implants  Grin

That's what the gubbermint of OZ has to say about the topic of internet connections through vaccines (they only talk about the Pfizer shot, so I wonder if the moderna stuff has better connectivity):

Can COVID-19 vaccines connect me to the internet?

COVID-19 vaccines do not – and cannot – connect you to the internet.

Some of the mRNA vaccines being developed include the use of a material called a hydrogel, which might help disperse the vaccine slowly into our cells.
Bioengineers have used similar hydrogels for many years in different ways. For instance, they've used them to help stem cells survive after being put inside our bodies.
Because of this, some people believe that hydrogels are needed for electronic implants, which can connect to the internet.

The Pfizer mRNA vaccine does not use hydrogels as a component.
The Pfizer mRNA vaccine contains a piece of mRNA which is coated in a lipid (fatty) droplet. The lipid helps the vaccine enter our cells, as the membrane holding our cells together is also made mostly of lipid. The vaccine and the membrane can fuse easily, depositing the mRNA inside the cell.

That's easy:
Code:
echo '127.0.0.1 bitcointalk.org' > /etc/hosts
Or for mortals:
Code:
sudo echo '127.0.0.1 bitcointalk.org' > /etc/hosts

Residential smartass here, not being able to resist some smartassery  Grin:

1. Don't overwrite hosts, consider appending (>>)
2. The below would actually work with sudo, otherwise you will get 'permission denied'
Code:
sudo sh -c 'echo "127.0.0.1 bitcointalk.org" >> /etc/hosts'

Everybody having lost his hosts file deserves what he gets for just copy-pasting some random command lines from the intertubes..

Is it even possible to where to sell these coins ?

For example here: https://www.unnamed.exchange/Exchange?market=FLT_BTC
I saw in previous post, but when I checked, I didn’t find any buy orders, and zero trade volume during last month.

You might want to try freiexchange instead:

https://freiexchange.com/market/FLT/BTC

At least there is some little volume and unlike with unnamed there are not dozens of users complaining about stuck withdrawals and other shenanigans (1) (2).

..

If I really needed to or had to use Google (although I don't know why), I could just use it from a brand new VM or something through Tor or through another ip address. I believe I used to type google.com/ncr so it's supposed to not redirect to whatever country it thinks I'm in.

Can also try Startpage I think.

Whenever I try to use google via tor I get stuck in an endless loop of "I am not a robot" captchas, they try very hard not to be accessible via tor.
It might work occasionally but it is not useable on a daily base. Bing on the other hand seems more than happy to serve you via tor.

@Timelord2067: I believe the standard P2P port is 9560 and according a quick grep through the sources 9561 is the default rpc port (I have it set to that explicitly in the conf but can't remember why I did that).

WTS a sizeable amount of CSC, I don't want to swap again.

If interested, pls pm me.

If they will implement full KYC for this next swap, I don't think many of the holders will comply on this requirement. Instead of swapping it to the new coin, they will sell it to the exchanges before the swap happens. So why not sell it to the exchanges as looking for someone here is not safe? Unless, you know somebody here or will put an escrow to sell your CSC.

https://casinocoin.org/a-fresh-start-swap-restructure-and-rebrand-announcement/
"As part of the swap, KYC will be mandatory. The Bankroll Manager (BRM) will be re-released as the new CasinoCoin Wallet once the swap is concluded. Following that, CasinoCoin as a product will be heavily focused on Tier 1 & Tier 2 gambling markets."

The only exchange I was aware of was Stex and they obviously removed the CSC markets today.
Is there any other active exchange?

Bitrue

Thanks very much, didn't know that exchange.

This is definitely on my todo list, I just have to figure out the best way to handle it. Ive been looking at the 0xBitcoin contract and considering moving FRK to it. But, it might just be better to create an online FRK wallet and from there letting people move between the chains that way. I just don't know.

Who has some nodes I can connect to?

Code:
addnode=82.200.205.30
addnode=157.161.128.63

People always said that buying is better than mining (and they have been right almost all of the time), but where's the fun in just buying?

When you're an ex-miner, recognize how unprofitable and a pain in the balls it is to run a mining operation, end up doing the math on a miner + electricity + Time to ROI... fuck the fun.

Time is money. Cheaper to buy what you would spend on a miner now, than what it would likely generate 18 months from now, IMO.

Unless you have cheap or free electricity, I don't see the benefit of mining right now vs just buying corn outright.

I actually made a very quick and very rough calculation, summing up leccy and miners and comparing to having spend those amounts in that year at the average yearly BTC price. I'd probably have ~30-50% less corn now.

With a lot of fake shame and affected guilt I admit, I have only profit-switch-mined scrypt shitcoins on my own pools. I held them until they pump (only 10-20% do that, the rest is loss) and then sell it. For example I piled up short of 2M musk doggie coins in the last 3 years, most of that time they would have given me  ~20 Sats per block, this time around I could sell most of it for > 180 Sat per block. And these were free merge-mined.

Though I have to give you, that if I had spent the time I invested for my mining as a burger flipper for minimum wage and invested that wage additionally via DCA in Bitcoin, I'd definitely have the most now.

Please take note, that I do in no way say that is a recommendable investment strategy - in fact when somebody asks me about it, I say exactly this: Just buy it. But I do enjoy running my little shitty mining op a lot and by being patient I got lucky quite a few times.

Ironically, I heard you are building a ranch/farm and as somebody helping out currently on a small farm because somebody being ill, I can safely say I'd really never wanted to have one.
I could probably advise you to better spend your dollars directly at a quality grocery and get your bio eggs from there and your fine deluxe steak from the local butcher. It is just not worth the time consuming hard work, the pain in your back and all the worries to have your own fresh bacon and eggs I tell you - but then I guess everybody defines fun differently  Wink

EDIT: (I totally deserve a bat slap for my shitcoin talk and I will happily accept the beatings in total submissiveness)

<snip>

I wish I'd left my miner running a bit longer. Though it was definitely not worth the electricity, it would have paid off. But then again, so would buying Bitcoin with the dollars.

People always said that buying is better than mining (and they have been right almost all of the time), but where's the fun in just buying?

I have always mined for fun and education and it served me well in both areas.
I have also almost always mined at loss (only counting the leccy, not even trying to ROI the miners), but today I am quasi-retired thanks to my MAHUSP (Mining And Holding Until da Shit Pumps). Though since I pay the leccy much later than I use it, it was basically buying on credit and once I had to pay the leccy I was already in profit most of the time.

In contrast all my business ventures were non-profit. It wasn't planned that way, it just happened because I am very bad at serious business (read: selling people overpriced shit they didn't need in the first place <- my definition of todays growth-centric economy).

I even plan to buy a few of jstefanops SHA256 pod miners and play the solo lottery with them. I really like how he brings mining back to the unwashed masses.
