Which country do you live in? Most of the exchangers don’t accept credit card nor Paypal due to fear of chargeback.

But there are some sites depending on your country. But you will surely have to undergo ID verification if not you will have to pay huge amount of fee for buying. Like virvox charges around 20-25% for Paypal.

You can also look into cex.io. They allow credit card payment after ID verification.

Yes this is the case that can happen. No wonder there are a huge number of airdrops going on. Some airdrops ask you to download their wallets and people out there think they are getting free money but instead you are installing keylogger and who knows what virus.

Better to stay away from such Altcoins. If its an ERC20 coin then you are safe since you can just use MEW to get the coins.

Thats one way or depending on your location check for sites where your can buy Bitcoins with debit/ Credit card and then you can easily change those Bitcoins to Ethereum using Shapeshit or Blockhain.info wallet.

You can try investing in some good altcoins such as NEO, IOTA. Try different ones. They have a lot of potential and one day might reach a good price and reap you good amounts of profit.

When you open an unauthorized transaction case Paypal reviews the case by checking the IP that was allocated when sending the payment. If they see a different location then they will side with OP. or else they will decline it. I know this because I had been in a similar situation before and lost the case.

Other way is to file a charge back through bank provided the funds were sent by card or bank and not Paypal balance.

My bet is if within the next 24-48hrs the mobile wallet and withdrawal of tokens is granted there will be a massive dump of coins and the price will plummet down like anything. Better to wait for some time if you want to buy.

Just found I had 25 POStokens from an airdrop I applied and totally forgot. Those coins total upto $23 which is basically free money. I feel ERC20 token airdrops are generally safe. But some tokens ask you to download wallets which you shouldn't since they can contain keyloggers and what not.

Really sad for OP. But I am pretty sure you knew all the risks involved before sending the funds first since you are a long term Paypal/ BTC exchanger. The same user had contacted me initially to exchange. He was even willing to use escrow but I never received any reply after I told him to send coins first. Since I have been scammed many times and don't trust any members that easily.

Now since you have sent Paypal funds probably using F&F and try to open an unauthorised transaction case. But even that you might loose since Paypal investigates very closely to check.

Last thing is to forget about the $100 and move on as a lesson leant.
