Download the straits wallet today!

Lightening fast block chain sync.

How?  How is it possible? It took less than 5 mins.  Do uou use bootstrap?  Very impressive stuff.

Also really like the QR code feature.

Looking good.  Start is now my #1 long term hold.
( After watching the 2 interviews with Chris, there's a guy I'll happily invest in). His passion and intelligence in this block chain space, remind me of the IOC Dev,. Joel Bosh

Will the new wallet have a "lightening Blockchain download"?

I ask because i just downloaded the Stratis blockchain and it took less than 5mins, really fast/impressed.
Also it has a feature that allows you to scan a QR code to send and receive coins, which is really useful.
Will the new wallet have this feature also?

304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tau-Chain and Agoras Official Thread: Generalized P2P Network on: October 10, 2016, 04:18:57 PM
Ohad, how are things going along in the project? I understand there are some fighting, but how are things moving along?

things moving good, i'm very close to begin coding some of the new logic, and i see extremely innovative methods offered in contemporary literature which will make tau even more useful (eg the "MSOL transfer theorem" which implies program/property synthesis, or expressibility of infinite terms), i also try to see if these new tools can enhance or improve the network's protocol (namely the nomic implementation). also some non-r&d activities and advancements eg probably today an interview of mine that was taken a month ago will be published. that's in short

Great to hear that! Smiley

Very excited!

Fantastic! i hope someone can also help with the work load, dont burn out.

Keep up the great work!
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Augur - a decentralized prediction market platform on: October 10, 2016, 02:09:58 PM
When will Augur mainnet launch?

About the platform launch:

Quote
There's about 6 weeks of iteration left on improving trading and polishing up some things on the backend surrounding security before it'll be ready for _audits_.  After that it's less predictable as who knows what those will find.  The idea is to then launch bounty programs, and then after that eventually launch with one market which is a security market "Will the funds in this market be stolen?" with the idea that there _probably_ will be / using a PM to predict security issues and provide extra incentive to find them.  Then we'll keep iterating on it and eventually launch the ability to add multiple markets with withdrawal time limits and whitelisted keys to update stuff quickly in case an issue is found.  Then slowly the training wheels would be removed (edited)

By Joey Krug

So, easy to say no sooner than 6 months up to a Year. Plenty of time to accumulate coin for the PnD when it launches, happy to wait up to a year for x5 returns.

I knew I should have converted my fiat into BTC on Friday. I've been wanting to accumulate some more Stratis in the 4,600 - 4,950 Satoshi range, but at this rate and -- with a massive 20 BTC buy wall at 4,605 -- I fear that ship might have sailed already.

Given the potential for appreciation, I'd be willing to add to my existing position even above 6,000/7,000. Still nothing beats a bargain, though.

Hopefully the price won't rise too dramatically before I can move some more BTC into my Bittrex account.

Holding a coin for long term if it can hit 50k sat, there is no difference to buy 4 or 5 k sat, current price is definitely a bargain

Correct, i have been market buying all my strat, i look at long term not short term, solid Long Term coin if Dev is true and honest.

We are now updating progress in Slack for DIONS, we are always working and updating. To follow please log in to our Slack

Great work IOC Team. But not everyone, probally less than half of the people who watch this thread, bother with Slack, so you are alienating potential and exsisting members by only updating in slack.

If someone in slack can copy and paste info here that would be great.   Cant be too far from Beta now looking t the twitter messages. Really great to think the release of DIONS should be ready for Christmas, that would be the best gift ever.

PS: Free I/OCoin physical coin to any members here who want to use and love the IOC signature.  You must have over 100 posts. PM me

PPS: i also follow updates on Facebook here  https://www.facebook.com/iocoindigitalcurrency

STRAT Pump has been cancelled due to the unforeseen total fucking balls of a situation that is REP is sorted out.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Blockchain Ecosystem - DIONS - CHAMELEON on: October 06, 2016, 08:32:51 AM
I have an idea. I don't know how "astute" it is, since I only have a vague understanding of blockchains and their use as an "internet of their own"

I was thinking, you know Lord of the Rings' famous quote: one ring to rule thme all and in the darkness bind them?

Well. How about one blockchain to link them all and in the cyberspace combine them?

My idea is well since you have things like ethereum, maidsafe, Blocknet and i/o, all trying to create blockchain ecosystems.

What if there would be a GUI for each individual user, where for example i/o is the central ring, and then there is a query box or a selection box where you can click and drag other rings to link into the main one. But this is only the gui for the specific user's PERSONALLY TAILORED blockchain-conglomerate. and well, there should be a function where you, once you have connected your seperate blockchains (I am not sure what the implications are for file sharing, or data hosting, or currency transfer), that you can in the end also give them all a SINGLE passphrase so you don't have to individually change it?
This way you can literally uniquely build your own ecosystem and link the blockchains you want, so that each node of one blockchain is also a node on several other blockchains so that well they all are complicit and help each other, i.e. multifunctional nodes catering to several blockchains?

I don't know if what I'm making sense or understand how it really works... I know ripple has a nice gui and it should make it very easy for the individual to compose (bring together) the pieces of his desired poly-blockchain (multi blockchains combined into one), where you can add or remove them easily by clicking on the image or symbol for it and then add / remove, click and drag, so that people can actually build their own network without using command line since many people seriously well, you know, don't like that or just will be completely TURNED OFF by the need to do that. a simple wizard could guide nooba in the gui as well.

I mean not just "I/O coin sidechains" as mentioned in the Chameleon statement but I mean linking other currency ecosystems and making them interoperable with the "one ring to rule them all" not because it is superior but simply because its functionality unites their differences into a singular functional super-structure...

one important aspect springs to mind, security... these others chains could have flaws that could bring down  or have a really bad knock on effect to the eco system.

This system would never work.  These other chains dont want to be part of anyone else and vice versa.

Avast finds adware called "filerepmetagen" in the windows-qt download. Anybody else experiencing this?

its 100% NOT from the wallet, but it is very easy to pick up by the sound of it, no doubt you downloaded some free software, check your history for recent downloads.

Do not be surprised guys if Stratis breaks 7k Sats a few days after REP trading.
You heard it here first!  Cool
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: October 04, 2016, 07:16:30 AM
I have to say that Stratis has the most positive and optimistic community and thread I have ever seen in crypto. This is a very good sign of great things to come.  Smiley

it's true, stratis is a great altcoin
I'm hoping it will be listed on poloniex soon.

Poloniex listing is inevitable but it will probably takes few more months before Stratis get listed there.

It took $IOC around 1 year to get listed on Poloniex.  To get listed this way (and not automatically soon after launch) you really have to prove your worth.

You have to make sure the code is 100% solid.
You have to have great developments in the future, so roadmap with targets that are being met. (Road map looks k, a little too basic)
You have to have good / constant 24hr Bitcoin vol  (which strat has)

You have to bring something new to the table... What does Strat bring to the table that is new or unique?

Its difficult to get on poloniex,  when you dont get auto added.

As long as the Devs here are true and honest and work hard, Strat will be on Poloniex in around 6-12months.  Plenty of time to accumulate in the mean time.

Does the Dev who done the Q&A ever read this forum or post?

whats the question.

Q: What is an alias?
A:  identity tagged to your hex address. pretty straightforward.

No shit Sherlock!  Grin

Would like  some examples of real world use and for other to see , how much of a leap forward in Crypto this is, so they  can understand the importance and the positive impact it will have when running a Business.

With HD wallets and extended keys blockchain based alias systems will really take a major role in identity management using hierarchical alias management systems with master slave control relationships. These things are coming when the current hardened keys in bitcoin core are extendable to allow public/private key deriving.

Exactly the reply i was looking for, thank you.

2 Options here.

1- (most likely) Project has / is being abandoned.

2- Dev has been contacted by PnD group and told to stay quiet and make it look like the coin is dead, so they can buy more, when they have the bags, the dev will appear say how hard hes working and such, probably give some BS about how he will make a deal or something to pump the price (maybe the old Azure addition) and then it will get pumped, group who bought at 3k will unload at 15k then the coin will die.

I can't remember the last time you weren't negative about this project.

lol thats why i had invested more btc than most of the people here .  I sold with profits, nothing to shout about 7-8k region.
Been in Crypto long enough to see when something is not right and i have bitcoin waiting if i should see something that tells me otherwise.

But if i think people are getting screwed, i will say whats on my mind, i dont mince my words and its the reason year on year i make more  and more bitcoin.

DIONS DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Update: It's a very important week for us in terms of development. We are about to start internal beta followed by the inclusion of our beta testers. Derek is currently working on a deployment of the wallet in osx and dos for our Dev team to start testing latest changes and finishing changes to the messaging section. We will be deploying the new Dions Html5 wallet, testing buttons, synchronizing the blockchain, going through the registration of alias, update, transfer, quick alias button, followed by messaging testing and data upload. We will be reporting back to Derek on the fly for any bugs we find if any. We should be a go over the next 48hrs.   We are very excited with the progress being made. Once Sam and I are gold and happy with what we got we will open to our beta testing team for Full Dions Alpha Beta. So lots of work but super positive.

Joel
I/O Digital DEV TEAM

Thank you for the update. everything seems to be looking good.

Can we please have more info on Alias please, bee so long, i forgot.  Should us mere mortals have to worry about it or is it a feature mainly for business users.  EG:  Joeljalapenos.io  (for example)

People with a business really do not need an alias.  But a business can be also online selling, EG: Ebay, OpenBazaar...  lots of options here.
