301  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: May 09, 2014, 09:02:00 PM
There are all sorts of lesser environmental issues that have absolutely nothing to do with global warming.

This is an issue that is beyond science, yet the deniers still want to hide behind the aegis of their version of "science".

Part of the problem is this idea of "faith" that is taught by religions.  When people are taught to have faith it is all great and such, but then they also have faith in things like science being able to fix this problem without society taking serious corrective action immediately.

Blind faith is the equivalent of not thinking.  That is what Christianity and religions all around the world teach us.  How to not think.

This is the second year spring is late here.  Cant plant my garden,  too cold, snowed 2 days ago.  Global warm that assholes.  I never seen -50 winters before, but now are common.  I welcome a warmer planet, just like it was in the past!  They cant forecast the weather past 36 hrs, but they can tell you what the planet will be like in 50 years, bullshit!

Ahh, so you are saying climate change has been going on for so long that the changes are "now common" ?

We are having a 2nd major drought.  Last year was just the minor one.  The year before that killed half of our large pecan tree, the sycamore tree, and dozens of the largest elms on my place.  The only thing to survive is mesquites, small elms, and the other trash trees whose name escapes me.

This year we're in the middle of another serious drought and most farmers are going to be screwed.  Luckily last year filled up our surface water enough.  That makes for good hunting when we have the only surface water within miles.

Lucky me, huh ?

Reddit was smart.  Too many opinions originating from the area of anus.
303  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: May 09, 2014, 06:03:17 PM

I wish there was a hell for the climate change deniers and the religions that ignore this problem because it hurts their customer base.  Few deserve Hell more for the damage they put forth upon humanity.

Reddit ain't even comin' close !
304  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Heat - Enemy #1, and here's why on: May 09, 2014, 05:52:01 PM

I want to see how much additional energy it takes to cool per rig watt.

For example. I wish to keep my rigs in an ambient temperature of 80, when it is 105 outside. It almost seems to me that more energy will be spent pumping the heat out of the room than will be spent on power the rigs.

I don't remember physics that well, but I thought at least an equivalent amount of energy would be spent to remove the heat and even more because of the huge inefficiencies in cooling ?

Anyone good at physics want to answer this ?  Point me to where someone writes it up ?  The link above was more about data centers and not the direct cost related economics of it as they relate to profitability.   (and environmental impact Sad

Anyone have an educated answer to this ?

Not sure what it is, or what it does but I'll throw out a bid at .07 btc.  Probably insulting, but you need a bid...  I don't expect to buy it at this, but not sure what it is I am buying outside a domain and some sort of code ?
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Dirty Deals in Smoke-Filled Rooms" J. Ranvier discusses a Mike Hearn proposal on: May 09, 2014, 04:03:47 AM

The article led me to research Peter Todd and Mike Hearn.  I came away a new fan of Peter Todd.

LOL @ developers scared to post on the dev list because of him.

I wonder what the nature of the smoke in the backroom was ?

Dan Larimer and Peter Todd FTW.

Whenever people are lookin for stakes and loans and anything shady is going on, they want to compartmentalize what is going on.  Multiple stakes at once is the most obvious scam in a situation like this.  A person can't do this if they are open, but a scammer would wish to keep it all in PMs.

Thats why people are skeptical.

I agree ppl should always be skeptical because the internet. I hate scammers myself.

If you have ever staked someone professional you should know multiple stakes not working longterm because of the history audits. And before you want to stake someone you make sure to do your homework before staking someone.
It seems you are not intrested in staking but just aware of people that this could be scam. And ppl should watch out. I think its good ppl warns others.

Now, because i dont want to get doxxed before i get a stake i rather avoid publicly. I dont want my name spread on the internet just because i made this thread.

Yes, but by keeping it all secret you can run multiple stakes and skip off.  I dealt a lot with giving out stakes, and people never hide their online name.  The only reason you would do that is if you are hiding something somewhere.  I don't want you doxxed either, but thats why we have online names.  Good luck!

So why not give your ID out publicly?  Why would you want to hide such a thing?

I've seen 100s of stakes, staked dozens myself, and have yet to ever see such a thing.

How efficient is minerd vs sph-sgminer ?   Does the gpu miner blow it out of the water ? I've been looking for a good cpu miner to squeeze a little bit more out of my mining rigs.
315  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Premium domain] Divvy.co.in just 0.4 BTC! on: May 03, 2014, 09:08:29 AM

How do you guarantee the person keeps divvy.co.in ?  You are not selling co.in so there is no guarantee.  Someone buys your domain and builds a business on it but can never actually own the domain.  Am I missing something ?  Seems like a bad business decision. If your website works, they build up value on a subdomain of a domain you own ?  No ?

I don't get what would be considered spam if this is allowed.  Crazy.

Has anyone went through and looked at which POS paying multipools are the most successful?  I've never seen one very successful except blackcoinpool.  Which POS paying pool is #2 ?
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: FACTS about Multipools and why you shouldn't mine on them on: April 05, 2014, 02:00:53 AM
Multipool is the biggest scam scheme implemented to scam the miners. You will always get less as compare to when your are mining on a single pool.

So which is it?  Multipools make more profits or they don't...  ?

This site is just full of people posting with agendas.  I'm sure some multipools scam and some don't.  This blanket statement is absurd though.

Can one run p2pool software for this?  I see p2pool.org had it at one point but I can't find source code.  Pointers ?
