Just joined this campaign, payment in less than 30 seconds. Very nice setup, hope it stays for a while. GL.

Missed the update but just wanted to say thanks to Stunna for being consistent and honest with his payouts. Never had a single issue in the two months that I was with him. Understandably he has to protect his interests too, I'll be using his signature until the end of the month as a small thanks.
305  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Major Bank crash will be THE BEST time for bitcoins. on: August 23, 2014, 10:52:14 AM
The only thing is not every one will react the same way. Adaptation is slow but sure, it's not going to happen overnight. If a bank collapses the first thought in people's head won't be to run to Bitcoin to save them.
306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: UK Where can I buy Bitcoin fast without verifying ID? on: August 19, 2014, 09:17:28 PM
You have two options,

1. LocalBitcoins, with a cash F2F trade or a seller who does not require ID.
2. Bittylicious - only offers small amounts without verification.
307  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much do you trust these exchanges? on: August 19, 2014, 09:16:07 PM
I wouldn't trust any exchange, you never know what could happen but if I had to use one of them as a storage, probably LocalBitcoins. They have pretty good security and last time a hacker even had server access but they got kicked out after 40 minutes or so and they couldn't do anything.

Quote
All data on the website server is encrypted. Manual actions are needed to make this data readable, so the attacker could not gain access to the data even when having a server console access.

I can't speak for other methods of entry and I'm sure the LBC team choose not to reveal their methods of protection as to provide more security but I think if someone has that much access and can't do any damage then LBC deserve some props.
308  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Western Union... bast**** on: August 19, 2014, 07:30:37 PM
Make the transfer using an agent in-store, they do all the checks in-store and it takes less than 15 minutes. If you pay online your more likely to have checks run on you and even though you may not have any malicious intentions if a check fails for whatever reason (not enough information, incorrect information) they'll just put the transaction on hold.

Quote
3.) When buying 1btc, i paid via western union, and they declined my payment. They have now refunded me but for some reason I have £6 less in my bank acc than before. Hmm....

Probably the fees, call them up and ask them why.

If you're in the UK and need to buy Bitcoin check out LocalBitcoins or Bittylicious, I've had nothing but fast and good trades on there.

Payment received, many thanks Stunna.
310  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We've developed a bitcoin arbitrage platform on: August 13, 2014, 11:46:48 PM
some research:

"Bitllama Inc"... located in the UK... tell me:

1) How can your "collective investment scheme" be organized as an incorporation instead of a fund / trust under the The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000?
2) If your naming suffix "Inc" suggests the US business types S-corporate or C-corporate, how can you be registered in the UK?
3) Interestingly in your "Terms of Use" you use "Bitllama Ltd." ... the same corporate type as Bitstamp, which has the same address and the same Terms of Use ... copy paste?
4) But if you're really a Limited, registered in the UK and in the footer this is just a typo, why is there no entry on the Companies House website (UK's registrar of companies)?
5) ...

@UK PLC Head office
5 Jupiter House,
Calleva Park,
Aldermaston,
Reading,
Berkshire,
RG7 8NN
United Kingdom

The address you claim to be yours also belongs to UK PLC, a company that specialises in setting up companies. IANAL, but AFAIK even if this company did register on your behalf, you need to have your own address and point of contact if your based in the UK. I also doubt a company would allow their clients to use their address. Still, I've contact UK PLC to confirm if your affiliated with them, will post back if I get a response.

Could you clarify?
311  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 13, 2014, 11:29:47 PM
I agree with him, because I had the same thing, when I signed up. First form, ask sign up particulars and then jumps to a pay out page, where you have to complete it, as if you asking for a payout.

Now we do not know if we signed up correctly and we not know if we were enrolled or not, because it's not being updated on the list.

We just lost a week of income in our previous signature campaign {Lunamine} not paying and we not sure if we going to be excluded for another week.

So it's fair to ask, if you new to the PrimeDice signature campaign and you do not know how things work.  Huh

I'm not sure if that's a bug from Google's side or when stunna created the form but there's a link on the first post that shows all enrolled users.

Just played a few games, very nice concept. Are you considering investment opportunities or possibly upping the scale of operation?
313  Other / Meta / Re: Why is the Altcoin Section so neglected? on: August 13, 2014, 11:14:24 PM
Everyone seems to think their coin will be the next best thing and often it's just someone who will probably try and attempt to pull off a pump and dump (has this happened before, I've never seen reports of it?). Some altcoins are actually useful, as long as they bring something new to the table or they get accepted by a heavily used merchant but to me a lot of them just offer the same thing as BTC. The only advantage I see is easy difficulty but let's be honest, it took BTC a while to get to where it is and imo it pretty much set the standard. I can't see any copy-cat coin having the same level of success as BTC. Litecoin and Namecoin are probably my next two to watch.
314  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk Advertising Email Received - Need Confirmation on: August 13, 2014, 11:11:26 PM
I got one of these emails today...

I played along, but after they saw which business I wanted the add for, they told me they weren't interested in selling me an add
Bwhahahahahaha

Now I'm intrigued, care to share what you wanted the add for? I can't imagine them turning down anything, even if they are scammers.
I kid you not!  but, I won't reveal that here anyways.  not necessary.

Fair play, going to bug me for a while haha.

We received the following message and have had the following conversation from the email address bitcointalk.ads@gmail.com and as always we are very cautious.  The sender is purported to be from bitcoin talk and selling ad space for a reasonable price in a prominent spot.

On topic though, I would have never even bothered to reply to someone who sent me an email like this. It screams scam right from the start, theymos wouldn't have time to send out emails offering ad-spots, would just be a big waste of his time when he can manage everything through the forum.
315  Economy / Goods / Re: Sale of cigarettes on: August 13, 2014, 10:59:22 PM
Depends what you're shipping history is like and where they're imported from. I know only on this forum is a pretty good supplier but some countries are cracking down at customs stage.

317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi was murdered? New evidence coming in on: August 13, 2014, 09:04:23 PM
A recurring trend in the Bitcoin scene is a lot of shady murders/suicides end up happening when there is Bitcoin to be had. It was the case in MT GOX it was the case in Silk Road so who's to say Satoshi was immune from this? He could very well have been murdered in order for someone to steal his coins or even take over. For example after satoshis "disappearance" many people in this very forum and the bitcoin community gained power so a lot of people could have had motive.

What are your thoughts on this?

Except none of his coins have been moved.
318  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Xapo Card on: August 10, 2014, 07:44:47 PM
From what I've heard the card works fine but the added fees pissed people off.
319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Love this quote. Do you? on: August 09, 2014, 09:48:47 PM
If Bitcoin doesn't go "to da moon" then it has no utility and the speculators will dump it down to zero. So no, the quote is meaningless to me.

I agree 100%, Bitcoin is useless until we reach $50,000 per coin. /s.

To me the whole point of Bitcoin is that it's not controlled by one person, if people are using it as an investment then I have no problem with that. I'm sure most people who want the price to increase only want it to increase because they hold a huge amount but as long as Bitcoin has real life use and value it'll always be considered useful / valuable and to me that's more important than what the price is. Bitcoin will do the same job if it was at $1 than if it was at $1000. The only difference I can think of is people will be more likely to dump their coins to take advantage of the price.
The same can be said about any altcoin as well. If you think that every altcoin is of equal value, then why not just make your own? Price and adoption go hand-in-hand. If someone tried to send a billion dollars worth right now and cash it out, it would crash the market. So it's not useful for those purchases yet.

I don't think every altcoins is of equal value, you might have misunderstood me. I could create an altcoin but it would never be used for anything that holds value and also, what can my coin offer that other coins don't offer?

I do agree that price and adoption go hand in hand, we can see from past results that as more and more merchants have adopted Bitcoin the price has gone up.

The point I was trying to make was that as long as Bitcoin can be used to purchase something it will hold some kind of value
320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin suspected to be NSA or CIA Project on: August 09, 2014, 09:42:29 PM
Quote
A white paper on bitcoin was released in 2008, and it was reportedly written by Nakamoto, which roughly means "Central Intelligence" in Japanese.

Uh, according to my Google-fu... Nakamoto Name MeaningJapanese: ‘central origin’ or ‘(one who lives) in the middle’; found mostly in the Ryukyu islands.

Quote
The team added that Bitcoin Forum, a bitcoin community where Nakamoto used to communicate, usually removes posts connecting bitcoin with CIA.

It's a forum...not a democracy. The owner can remove posts as he likes, it's his forum to run the way he wants to.

Quote
Raising suspicions about his identity, Nakamoto has never left even a single personal identification clue in his numerous posts on Bitcoin Forum over the years. CIA Project alleges that this shows 'intelligence training'.

Yeah only people who have had intelligence training would want to remain anonymous. /s

Quote
In addition, Gavin Bell (aka Gavin Andresen), who is the public face of bitcoin, claims that he has been communicating with Nakamoto for many years. However, Gavin has neither met Nakamoto nor spoken with him on the phone even once.

What's their point? I do plenty of business with people I've never met or spoken to on the phone either.

Quote
The group added that the common program used by most cryptocurrencies to create secure keys is suspected to be back-doored by the NSA.

So what exactly are they going to do? Hasn't it already been proven that the algorithm used to create private keys would take billions of years to crack and if they did have a backdoor....

Quote
The fact that bitcoin did not use the most popular program to create secure keys shows that the NSA already had full information about bitcoin, according to the group.

the above contradicts what they just said. Do they mean the NSA had backdoors in the less popular programs. Unclear about this.

Quote
It noted that a recent WikiLeaks document exposed the NSA's connection with the program used by most cryptocurrencies.

Which document was this, I want to read it - anyone got a link?

Quote
"While bitcoin believers portray bitcoin as a new decentralised currency, the command structure of bitcoin core development is 100% centralised," CIA Project says.

Maybe in terms of The Bitcoin Foundation but AFAIK the project is still open source, anyone can review it.
